Is Taylor Swift counting down to something? Here are 4 fan theories.

From her 12th album to an Eras Tour documentary, speculation is swirling among Swifties over the pop star's latest "Easter egg" hunt. After a two-year globe-spanning tour and multiple new albums, Taylor Swift appears to be taking a much-deserved break. (She's partying with Selena Gomez! Hanging with boyfriend Travis Kelce! Having a double-brother hangout with Dakota Johnson!) But is that really it?! Fans aren't so sure. Now they're speculating that the artist is dropping something new soon, and it all has to do with a supposed countdown of her previous albums. On July 18, the official Swift Instagram account Taylor Nation posted a tribute to the singer's 2006 self-titled album, which, thanks to a recent purchase of her previous masters, she now owns outright. 'Everything we need is finally right here by our side and to celebrate, stream the album with us at 1pm EDT today,' Taylor Nation wrote in their post featuring a younger Swift. But it wasn't just Swift's debut. Taylor Nation later revealed it was honoring all of the star's albums, with 2008's Fearless getting a 'streaming party' on July 19 at 2 p.m. ET. Fans speculated the times for the streaming parties were actually a countdown — a theory was seemingly confirmed when the account shared a tribute to 2010's Speak Now and held that listening party at 3 p.m. ET. Swifties are sure that the Easter egg-loving artist is planning on revealing something major. Of course, it wouldn't be the first time that Swifties believed some big announcement was coming only to be let down. (Ahead of this year's Grammys, fans were certain Swift was releasing a rerecorded version of Reputation that ultimately didn't even exist.) Still, if we're speculating, what could it be? Here are some of the best fan theories from social media. A documentary is on its way Fans have long been convinced that Swift is going to release a documentary about her record-shattering Eras Tour and the reclaiming of her original work. Swift has done a documentary before: Netflix's 2020 Miss Americana, about Swift's retreat from the public eye and reemergence with her album Lover. Now that Swift reached a new pinnacle in her career, it only makes sense to do another one — and there are some clues that suggest it's more than possible. Fans point to the many cameras on the Eras Tour, particularly on the final stops in Vancouver, British Columbia — footage that could not have been used for the wildly successful concert film, which came out before the tour ended. Plus, the hashtags on the countdown posts all include references to the Eras Tour — and some fans believe it could be to rewind the clock back to Swift's three-hour-long spectacle. Swift is teasing her 12th original album There's nothing Swifties love more than hearing new music from the artist, which is why many are hopeful that the countdown is all leading up to the announcement of a new album. If Swift does a streaming party each hour for all of her 11 original albums, we'd eventually get to midnight — and some fans believe that is when she could announce her 12th album. But it's not just the potential countdown to 12 that's making fans suspicious. As TikToker SwiftieInKC pointed out in a recent video, Taylor Nation is using a new logo (specifically, a crest) that we haven't seen before on the social media posts for this countdown — and Swift is notorious for changing up stylistic choices as she enters a new era. The crest looks very similar to one she's putting on her new merchandise collection, the TikToker noted — and it's the only merch collection she has not assigned to a specific album. So is it possible that the merch with this crest is actually merch for the upcoming TS12?!? We'll have to see! There is a small wrinkle in this plan, however. We don't yet know if Swift will celebrate each and every album. Taylor Nation previously said on X that they would be paying tribute to the six original eras that Swift did not own outright before she announced she had acquired her masters in May. That means the countdown could stop after Reputation, her sixth studio album. Swift is sharing vault tracks In a May letter to fans about the acquisition of her first six albums, Swift shared that she had not yet rerecorded all of Reputation, suggesting that we would not get a 'Taylor's Version' of the album as many excitedly anticipated. But she did say that vault tracks could emerge at a later point — and some fans speculate that this countdown will unlock at least one of them. There are a couple of reasons it could point to a major Reputation drop. TikToker BookBeeDani pointed out in a recent video that the images on Swift's tributes all feature official Reputation colors orange and black. In fact, Swift is wearing a purple dress in the Speak Now photo, but it has been edited to appear black — as has her golden sequined outfit for Fearless. Although BookBeeDani posted before Red's tribute dropped, the pattern held: Swift's Red photos all featured the star wearing black, and the Red cover image was edited to have a more orangey tinge. And as BookBeeDani noted, Swift is slated to drop a Reputation tribute on Wednesday — which also happens to be the same day that Prime Video drops The Summer I Turned Pretty. This show is major for Swifties: Creator Jenny Han is a huge fan of Swift and has featured a ton of her music, including Swift's new rerecordings of previous work. Swift dropping a Reputation vault track just in time for it to be featured on the latest episode of The Summer I Turned Pretty definitely feels possible. It's another merch drop Swift fans may be eternally hopeful for new content from their favorite artist, but after years of misreading Easter eggs or overhyping moments, they're also not getting their hopes up. Many people suspect that Swift's countdown will be for something fun but hardly a major deal — like a merch announcement. The comments section on TaylorNation's IG posts is full of merch drop woes. 'I swear to god if all this is just a countdown to a merch drop,' one Instagram commenter wrote. Another added, 'We are getting cardigans at the end of this countdown, aren't we?' A third wrote, 'If this is a countdown to just a cardigan I'm gonna crashout. I NEED A ERAS TOUR DOC PLEASEEEE.' Will Swifties stay fed with new music or a tour documentary? Or will they find themselves adding another sweater or hat to their carts on her website? Guess we'll have to wait until the end of the countdown to find out. Solve the daily Crossword

Gardening: The purple craze!

The colour purple comprises two primary colours, blue and red. It is associated throughout the ages with royalty, wisdom, power and luxury. It also invokes creativity, magic and extravagance. The colour purple in our gardens is a distinctive and powerful statement. Article content Purple is not just one colour. It ranges from lavender, mauve and lilac onwards to plum and pomegranate, and into the deep colours of royal purple and wine. The variations are endless! Article content Article content Article content In nature, purple is one of the rarest colours for foliage, yet one of the most popular colours for flowers. Both have an ecological and environmental impact beyond their appearance. Purple in flowers acts as nectar stripes that guide pollinators towards the nectar and pollen within the flower, increasing the chances for pollination and fertilization to occur. In fruit, the seeds, pods, and fruit attract herbivores that eat them and distribute the seeds elsewhere. Both are essential reproductive functions. Article content Article content Purple foliage has come about from genetic mutations and doesn't convey any benefits to plants. If there was a benefit, then it wouldn't be so rare in nature. Yet, there is one advantage of sorts — we desire those purple-leafed plants, we select them, care for them and tend them, and ensure that they reproduce! Article content The colour purple in our plants is from the presence of anthocyanins. Beyond being simple pigments, they protect leaves from excessive light, almost like sunscreen for plants! The presence of anthocyanins can also protect from some diseases and pests, as well as improve stress tolerance. Article content Article content Our purple vegetables include root crops, with Purple Haz' carrots still being a favourite. The Purple Top White Globe turnip is an old heirloom that still delivers. Radishes are represented by many varieties and cultivars, including Easter Egg and Royal Purple. Beets typify our purple vegetables, with all sorts, from the heirlooms Detroit Red, Cylindra, and Bull's Blood to the newest hybrid Boro. There are many purple onions, ranging from the heirloom Red Wethersfield to the hybrid Redwing. Article content Article content Leafy purple vegetables include a wide variety of lettuces with a few of my favourites being the heirlooms Cimmaron and Prizehead, both dating back to the 1700s. Then there's Pomegranate Crunch and Darkness, which are among the most purple of them all. Purple kale includes Redbor and a new one called Rainbow Candy Crush. Swiss chard is known for its colourful stems. Rhubarb has deep red stems and purplish dark green leaves.

The Internet Reacts To Trump Mobile Gold Smartphones

While it may sound like a bad SNL sketch come to life, the news is true — the Trump Organization (revealed via Trump's son, Eric) has announced that they've licensed the Presidential family name for smartphones and cellular services, calling it "Trump Mobile." I am personally no expert, but this kinda feels like the Wario to Ryan Reynolds's Mint Mobile, y'know? Here's what we know so far: The cellular service currently appears to have only one plan, titled "The 47 Plan" in reference to Trump's second term making him the 47th President. It's priced at — you guessed it — $47.45. The 45, I'm assuming, is in reference to his first term. For claiming to hate Taylor Swift, Trump's organization surely seems to be taking Easter Egg notes from her, don't you think? Nonetheless, here's everything the plan claims to offer: Additionally, they're releasing a "T1 Phone" later this summer, which is described as a "sleek, gold smartphone engineered for performance," and — seemingly — comes adorned with not only a massive T1 on the back, but also, of course, an American flag, (because why wouldn't it!). The organization has specified, however, that the $499 phone was not designed or made by Trump Mobile, but by another company entirely. While the press release states that the phone is "proudly designed and built in the United States," in an interview this morning, Eric said that "eventually, all the phones can be built in the United States of America," continuing on about how "we have to bring manufacturing back" to the country. I'm no expert, but to kinda sounds currently not being made in the US, no? Some important context here: all of this comes less than a month after President Trump himself demanded that Apple and Samsung make major shifts to manufacture and build their smartphones in the United States, threatening to put "at least" a 25% tariff on their products if they didn't comply. And now, it seems the Trump family is entering the market themselves. Needless to say, the internet has had a lot to say about all of this: Well, I didn't have this on my 2025 bingo card, but it sure as heck feels more than a bit dystopian to me! UK's newest £3.9bn garden city with 15k homes changing unused land forever

Huge plans, costing almost £4billion, to totally revamp 2,500 acres of brownfield land into a vibrant green city first started in 2015 - and is set to be completely finished in the next 10 years Ambitious plans to transform unused land into a bustling green city are slated to be fully finished in the next decade. Following soaring demand for more houses in the popular commuter county of Kent, the idea of Ebbsfleet Garden City was born back in 2015. Spearheaded by the Government and Ebbsfleet Development Corporation, and costing almost £4 billion, the investment aims to create the first garden city in 100 years across 2,500 acres of brownfield land. ‌ By 2035, Ebbsfleet will feature a staggering 15,000 new homes and 40 per cent 'green and blue space' with 50 new parks and open spaces - while creating 32,000 jobs for residents. By then, the mostly flattened area will become a place for Brits to 'grow a family, build a business, socialise, and enjoy a unique city-country lifestyle on the edge of London and Kent'. ‌ There are three major projects of the Ebbsfleet Garden City: Ebsfleet Central, Northfleet Embankment, and Community buildings and spaces. According to the developer's website, Ebbsfleet Garden City comprises an urban regeneration area made up of a collection of brownfield development sites within Dartford and Gravesham Boroughs. The planning application for this project is due to be submitted later this year. "Ebbsfleet Central will be the dynamic commercial centre for Ebbsfleet and the surrounds, anchored by Ebbsfleet International railway station," developers explained. "Current car parking around the station will be relocated and the area transformed with modern new offices, city living apartments and places for people to enjoy arts and culture alongside fitness and wellbeing, all on the doorsteps of high-quality and sustainable neighbourhoods." ‌ Ebbsfleet Central, a mixed-use residential and commercial area, will feature around 2,100 homes (35 per cent of which are Affordable Housing) and up to 100,000 square metres of office floorspace - as well as 10,000 square metres of retail floor spaces for restaurants, bars, cafes, and supermarkets. Located just 17 minutes from Central London, it is hoped the revamped area will become a 'magnet for inclusive economic growth' and a 'destination of choice for investment and innovation'. In 2022, Ebbsfleet Development Corporation submitted the outline planning application for the first phase of new development in Ebbsfleet Central. This includes building new leisure facilities, a new school, and more open spaces for future residents. ‌ The mega project also involves building the Eastgate Community Building, a church and local community centre located in the middle of Springhead Park. "The building and various rooms is available to the public to host various groups, classes, events and initiatives," developers added. "As well as annual events such as Easter Egg hunts, Summer BBQs and Christmas Fairs, Eastgate is also a regular meeting space for Rainbows & Brownies, Zapa Performing Arts and runs a regular Parents & Tots group, as well as being used as a church space." Last year, Ebbsfleet Garden City announced 632 new homes were delivered in 2022/23 despite national challenges to the housing market. Since 2015, around 3,516 news have already been delivered in the region - including 195 Affordable Homes. As of 2024, 3.94 hectares of parks, open spaces and recreation areas, as well as 3.62km of dedicated footpaths and cycle ways - and £172.9 million in private sector investment had been delivered.

Much-loved traditional Louth sweet shop on the market for €125,000

One of Dundalk's last traditional sweet shops is up for sale. O'Hagan's shop in Bridge Street has gone on the market with a guide price of €125,000. Generations from the town's North End have fond memories of going to the shop to buy bags of loose sweets which were carefully weighed from jars, minerals, milk and cigarettes. The shop was originally run by Ann O'Hagan, whose window display of a large chocolate Easter Egg in a basket, captivated the local children. After her death, it passed to her son John Taylor, who is now residing in a nursing home. Estate agent Joanne Lavelle says that the it's a 'rare opportunity' along one of Dundalk's main streets, as the shop is located at the junction with Bridge St and Castletown Road and 'so commands a fantastic spot, within the recently upgraded St Nicholas Quarter.' 62 Bridge St is a mixed use property comprising the shop, living room, kitchen and utility at ground floor with three bedrooms and bathroom upstairs. There's also a small yard at the back. Ms Levelle says it presents a great opportunity to convert to an entire residential subject to planning permission or to create a new business interest alongside living accommodation. 'Number 62 is guaranteed to gain a lot of interest.'
