Dame Olivia Newton-John's widower John Easterling finds love again with American entrepreneur Sarah Owen, three years after beloved star's death
John Easterling, the widower of the late Australian icon Dame Olivia Newton-John, has reportedly found love again. The 73-year-old has been quietly spending time with American entrepreneur Sarah Owen, 62, according to The Daily Telegraph. The pair are understood to have met at a New Year's Eve party in December 2022, four months after Newton-John died following a brave and lengthy battle with cancer. Though the pair have kept a low profile, Easterling and Owen have been spotted together more frequently in recent months around Santa Ynez, California. Owen, who was previously married to actor James Woods, is the founder of pet care brands StripHair and The Gentle Groomer, both owned by her company Betty's Best. Easterling, meanwhile, is the founder of the Amazon Herb Company, which focuses on plant-based medicine, an area he and Newton-John both passionately supported, especially in cancer research. Despite the new relationship, Easterling has remained open about the depth of his grief and enduring love for Newton-John. "Olivia and I had a love so big and so indefinite in time," he told People earlier this year. "We embraced it as something even bigger than ourselves. We never had any petty arguments or anything like that. I didn't even think love could be like that." He also revealed that he still feels connected to Olivia's spirit in places that were special to them, saying she continues to send him messages to "love and live life". "Life is very, very precious, and don't waste a moment of life because it's a very thin veil that separates us," he said. "I see and feel her presence all the time, and I know we'll be completely reunited again. So that's giving me the strength and the energy to really push forward." Easterling and Newton-John met through mutual friends in the 1990s but did not begin dating until many years later. They publicly confirmed their relationship in 2007 and married in two ceremonies in 2008, first in a spiritual Incan ritual in Peru, followed by a second wedding on a beach in Florida with family and friends. They remained married until the British-Australian actress' death on August 8, 2022, at the age of 73. "Dame Olivia Newton-John passed away peacefully at her Ranch in Southern California this morning, surrounded by family and friends," Easterling wrote in a statement posted to Olivia's official Instagram account at the time. "Olivia has been a symbol of triumphs and hope for over 30 years, sharing her journey with breast cancer. Her healing inspiration and pioneering experience with plant medicine continues with the Olivia Newton-John Foundation Fund, dedicated to researching plant medicine and cancer." Easterling was Olivia's second husband. She was previously married to actor Matt Lattanzi, with whom she shared daughter Chloe Lattanzi, 39. Since the beloved Grease star's death, both Easterling and Lattanzi have continued her legacy through the annual 'Walk for Wellness' fundraiser supporting the Olivia Newton-John Cancer Wellness & Research Centre. "It's an incredible honour," Lattanzi told People in 2023. "I could never imagine letting my mum's dream die. I feel her inside of me, guiding me - like, 'This is your job. This is what you're supposed to do'." Chloe also expressed deep compassion for Easterling, describing him as "my other father". "John and I were taking care of her together," she said of her mother's final days. "There's such a strong bond and my heart just breaks for him. I will always be the person that he can lean on." Newton-John's long health journey began with a breast cancer diagnosis in 1992. After an initial remission, the disease returned in 2013 and again in 2017 as a tumour at the base of her spine. Following her tragic death, Newton-John was honoured with a state memorial service in Melbourne, featuring video tributes from Hugh Jackman, Sir Elton John, Dolly Parton, Pink, Sir Barry Gibb, and Mariah Carey.

The Grease star, who suffered a long battle with breast cancer, spent her final days at the sprawling Santa Ynez Valley estate with Easterling, where the couple had lived since purchasing the property in 2015. Easterling sold the home for $US7.95 million (AUD$12.16 million) in February this year after it was first listed in June 2024. 'Olivia and I made many wonderful memories at our home in Florida and the ranch in California. The message that keeps coming through so clearly is to love life, live life, and never forget about the good things that are going on,' Easterling told PEOPLE at the time. 'The 'Indian Way' Ranch in Santa Ynez is a spectacular property where I can see a new family having great nature adventures and relishing the life experience. I'll still maintain a presence in both Florida and California.' Olivia Newton-John's California ranch sold in February. Easterling, who founded the Amazon Herb Company in 1990, first met Newton-John in 1993 when they were married to other people. After years of friendship, the pair began dating in 2007 before marrying in a spiritual ceremony in Peru in June 2008, followed by a legally-binding wedding on Jupiter Island in Florida. Newton-John's first marriage was with Matt Lattanzi, who she met on the set of the 1980 film Xanadu. They later married in 1984, welcoming their daughter Chloe Lattanzi in January 1986. Seniors gather at Atlanta City Hall to get help
City leaders say it can be too difficult for some seniors to find resources. Channel 2's Berndt Petersen shared how the city took those resources to them. 'We know it is hard out here for our seniors,' City Councilman Jason Dozier said. This includes seniors like Coretha Easterling, who sometimes struggles to make ends meet. 'Some seniors don't know,' Easterling said. On Thursday, they were brought to the right place. 'We know a lot of our seniors have to rely on Social Security, and are navigating the high cost of living and energy costs, so we're trying to bring the resources to them so they can weather this storm,' Councilman Dozier said. There was also information on affordable housing, getting more out of Medicare, Social Security, veterans' benefits and much more. Dozier said the seniors who looked after us now need someone to look after them. Easterling said they just need to know where to go. 'It helps the seniors to know what they can get or information they need to know,' Easterling said. The gathering at Atlanta City Hall was the first of four planned to help local seniors. Five Augustans await sentencing for stolen mail, bank fraud, aggravated identity theft in separate cases
AUGUSTA, Ga. (WJBF) – Five Richmond County defendants face various prison sentences after pleading guilty to illegally possessing a master key for postal service mailboxes and other felony counts occurring in 2023. Davion Chelsea Easterling, 26, and Corey Jamario Gunter, 24, both of Augusta, await sentencing after pleading guilty to Aiding and Abetting Possession of a Stolen Mail Key. According to the U.S. Department of Justice, plea agreements subject each defendant to a statutory penalty of up to 10 years in prison, along with substantial financial penalties and up to three years of supervised release upon completion of any prison term. According to court documents, Easterling was employed by the U.S. Postal Service and shared a residence with Gunter. An investigation by the U.S. Postal Inspection Service and the Richmond County Sheriff's Office in 2023, led to a search of their residence pursuant to a state search warrant, where investigators reportedly found large quantities of stolen mail and multiple postal bins, along with a master key used to access postal service boxes. The investigation revealed that mail was stolen from a USPS Blue Box, located at the U.S. Post Office, 3108 Peach Orchard Road in Augusta. U.S. District Court Judge J. Randal Hall will schedule sentencing hearings for Easterling and Gunter upon completion of pre-sentence investigations by U.S. Probation Services. Cameron Martinas Curry, 22, and Quavaun Enreco Rhodes, 22, both of Augusta, await sentencing after pleading guilty to Possession of a Stolen Mail Key, Possessing Stolen Mail Matter, Bank Fraud and Aggravated Identity Theft. Both face up to 30 years in prison, along with substantial financial penalties and up to five years of supervised release upon completion of any prison term. Curry and Rhodes were detained by the Columbia County Sheriff's Office for a traffic stop after suspecting that the defendants had stolen mail from a USPS Blue Box, located at the U.S. Post Office, 125 Commercial Boulevard in Martinez. Upon contact with the defendants, the deputies observed what appeared to be stolen U.S. Mail inside the vehicle. An investigation by the U.S. Postal Inspection Service determined that there was no forced entry on the USPS Blue Box. After searching the area, a pair of U.S. Postal Master Keys were found less than thirty yards from the vehicle. A federal search warrant was obtained for both defendants' phones and agents found several check images with a face value totaling $485,000. Court documents showed that text messages and screenshots revealed that they had stolen checks from the mail and had been depositing, altering or selling them for the Purpose of Bank Fraud or Identity Theft. U.S. District Court Judge Dudley H. Bowen will schedule sentencing hearings for Curry and Rhodes upon completion of pre-sentence investigations by U.S. Probation Services. Earl Demetrius Overton, 32, of Augusta, awaits sentencing after pleading guilty to Possession of a Firearm by a Prohibited Person, Bank Fraud, and Aggravated Identity Theft related to stolen mail. He faces up to 30 years in prison, along with substantial financial penalties and up to five years of supervised release upon completion of any prison term. Overton was arrested by RCSO, pursuant to an arrest warrant, while driving a vehicle. The defendant was reportedly found to be in possession of a firearm and is a prohibited person because of a previous felony conviction. A follow up search warrant of the defendant's home revealed numerous stolen checks, stolen mail, and various debit cards belonging to other people. Investigators revealed that Overton was stealing checks from the mail and depositing, altering or selling them for the purpose of Bank Fraud and Aggravated Identity Theft. U.S. District Court Judge J. Randal Hall will schedule a sentencing hearing for Overton upon completion of pre-sentence investigations by U.S. Probation Services. 'These cases are examples of individuals who made a decision to engage in criminal misconduct involving the U.S. mail that will not go unpunished,' said Rodney M. Hopkins, Inspector in Charge of the Atlanta Division. 'The U.S. Postal Inspection Service is committed to protecting our customers and preserving the integrity of the mail.' If you believe you are a victim of mail theft from the Martinez Post Office, or the Peach Orchard Road Post Office between the dates of March 1, 2023 and November 30, 2023, and you have not been contacted by the United States Attorney's Office, you can file a report by June 30, 2025, with the United States Postal Inspection Service at referencing USPIS Case Numbers 4183320-MT and 4207963-MT. Man sentenced for carrying gun, following woman in car
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) — A city man who reports said told detectives he was following people around in his car while carrying a gun because he thought they were harassing him was sentenced Thursday to 12 months in prison. Rean Easterling, 32, received the sentence from Judge R. Scott Krichbaum after pleading guilty to charges of being a felon in possession of a firearm and aggravated menacing. Easterling was arrested after a woman reported to police that he had been following her Dec. 17 on several South Side streets. The woman testified in municipal court at Easterling's preliminary hearing that her son was in the car with her and was on the phone to 911 as they drove to the city police department on West Boardman Street. When there, the woman testified the window rolled down on the car and a man she identified in court as Easterling said: 'You think you're safe on the streets. You're not safe. This is psychological warfare on the streets.' The car then drove away. Detectives used the Flock Camera System to find and track Easterling's car and take him into custody. Also at the preliminary hearing, Detective Sgt. Nick Menichini testified that when Easterling was questioned about the incident, he admitted to following the woman and told Menichini he had been following people around the city who he believes are harassing him. Easterling had a gun with him when he was arrested. Easterling is not allowed to have a gun because of past drug convictions. He also has a warrant from Trumbull County.
