This according to Italian transfer reporter Matteo Moretto, via FCInterNews. He reports that the young Nigerian midfielder is a target for the Tuscan to strengthen their squad for Serie A. This is is first regular experience in senior football. Akinsanmiro had previously impressed in Inter's Under-19 or Primavera team. This had earned him some matchday squad appearances last season, and a cameo substitute appearance against Lecce. Inter had beaten the likes of Real Madrid and Benfica to Akinsanmiro's signature. However, prior to this season the priority was to get Akinsanmiro regular playing time. Therefore, Sampdoria emerged as the ideal destination for the 20-year-old to start finding his feet in the senior game. There is hardly a chance that the Nigerian will have a role in Inter's senior squad next campaign. However, Sky report, Inter will not be selling Akinsanmiro on a permanent basis either. That is because they are close to agreeing a new contract with him. As things stand, Akinsanmiro is out of contract with Inter at the end of next June. According to Sky Sport, however, the Nigerian is set to sign a new deal with the Nerazzurri. This will take him until the end of June 2029.

After Sampdoria's calamitous campaign, it's hard to imagine Akinsanmiro staying there for another year. Meanwhile, his contract at Inter runs out in 2026. Therefore, the Italian heavyweights have no time to lose as they've accelerated extension talks with his entourage.
