KALABAKAN: Kalabakan Police Station conducted a surprise defence drill aimed at testing the preparedness of its personnel in facing unexpected threats. Police Chief, SM Eddy Abdullah, said the exercise involved all on-duty personnel from various units, activated under high-alert conditions. 'Each officer was tested on their readiness to respond to unforeseen threats such as armed attacks or security disturbances targeting the station,' he said. 'This was not just a theoretical drill – the aim was to ensure that every response is swift, accurate and adheres strictly to the standard operating procedures (SOPs).' He said the exercise forms part of the police force's ongoing efforts to ensure both the station and its personnel are on the alert at all times. Eddy said the drill also served as an important platform to strengthen teamwork, internal communication and mental resilience under pressure. 'We must always be prepared because threats can occur at any time. Our officers must be able to respond without hesitation,' he said. * Follow us on our official WhatsApp channel and Telegram for breaking news alerts and key updates! * Do you have access to the Daily Express e-paper and online exclusive news?
