CMAI's Kidswear Fair Attracts 15K+ Trade Visitors
The 81st National Garment Fair (NGF)—Kidswear Edition, organized by the Clothing Manufacturers Association of India (CMAI), concluded with overwhelming success, drawing over 15,000 trade visitors from across India and over 50 international buyers. Held from June 23–25 at the Bombay Exhibition Centre, Mumbai, the event underscored the kidswear sector's growing influence in India's fashion landscape. The show featured around 590 kidswear brands displaying their latest Autumn/Winter, festive, and wedding collections across 3.5 lakh sq. ft. of exhibit space. Buyers from countries including the UK, USA, UAE, Spain, South Africa, and Australia engaged with Indian exhibitors, driving substantial festive-season bookings. Santosh Katariya, President of CMAI, noted the kidswear segment is India's fastest-growing apparel category, set to reach $34 billion by 2029, driven by rising disposable incomes, style-conscious parenting, and aspirational purchasing in Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities. He emphasized how kidswear is evolving beyond basic clothing into lifestyle-driven fashion. Rohit Munjal, Vice President and Chairman of the Fair Sub-Committee, emphasized the strategic decision to dedicate a standalone edition to kidswear, resulting in high-quality engagements and strong order volumes. He added that the positive feedback and footfall exceeded expectations, confirming demand for focused, category-specific trade events. Major retailers such as G3+, Kalyan Silks, Madan Collection, and Kings Life Style attended, signaling industry confidence. Exhibitors like Suruchi, My Silk, Duke Fashion, Badboys, Rivaaz, Tiny Girl, and Casa Dee Neene reported high interest and expected strong seasonal performance. Following the success of the Kidswear Edition, CMAI is preparing for the Men's and Women's Wear Edition of the 81st NGF, set to take place July 14–16, 2025 at the same venue. It will host over 800 brands and 40 accessory labels, covering 15,300 sqm for menswear, 21,200 sqm for womenswear, and 680 sqm for accessories.
