A Star-Filled Guide To Celebrity Zodiac Signs And What They Mean

When Tali Edut, one half of The AstroTwins, was first learning about astrology, she looked to the stars—Hollywood's stars. 'That's kind of what got me,' she explains. 'I would start to see the link between celebrities,' realizing how different groups fell under each zodiac. Now, as an astrology expert, Edut is well-versed in the signs of all your favorite celebs. Which one comes to mind as the celebrity who truly exemplifies their sign? Edut doesn't hesitate: It's the ultimate Libra, Kim Kardashian. 'Every sign is connected to a body part, and Libra rules the butt and lower back,' she says. 'She broke the internet because of her ass. They're also the sign of beauty and harmony and order. She's front row at every fashion week but was also a closet organizer before she became reality-star famous.' As for which celebs represent all the other signs, Edut breaks down each one, below. When it comes to explaining celebrity astrology, Edut says she always uses Aries—'the most obvious divas out there'—as the prime example. Some of those legends include superstars like Aretha Franklin, Diana Ross, Mariah Carey, Celine Dion, Marvin Gaye, Elton John, Lady Gaga, Pharrell—essentially any singer who's 'most likely to have an extended stint in Vegas,' Edut adds. 'They just have that cardinal fire sign, so they're going to blaze brightly and hold their own on the stage.' For Edut there's one iconic Taurus: Adele. 'Taurus rules the throat,' she says. 'They're very sensual. They're the slow jammers, and [Adele] has written every slow jam anthem out there.' Geminis exhibit a fluid, transitional energy, giving us celebrities like Prince, who, instead of a name, eventually started going by a 'Love Symbol.' Cancers are our watery, sensitive celebs, including people like Ariana Grande, Selena Gomez, and Khloé Kardashian. Edut also adds that Cancers are ruled by the moon, meaning they can get moody and have a hard time letting things go. Another famous Cancer? Margot Robbie. '[Cancers] are kind of the ultra femmes, and of course, she's the Barbie of our time,' she says. It's no surprise that a bunch of big-name celebs are Leos, the zodiac sign that's known for being confident, driven, and cool with being the center of attention. Just a short list includes Kylie Jenner, Demi Lovato, Jennifer Lawrence, Jennifer Lopez, Madonna, and Meghan Markle. 'They kind of all court controversy but play innocent at the same time,' Edut says. 'They're sweet but feisty.' Virgos—celebs like Beyoncé and Zendaya—are known for being grounded and hard workers, but Edut says, they can also have an amazing sense of rhythm and be great dancers. 'Michael Jackson was a Virgo. Pink is a Virgo, who's amazing with her acrobatics on stage.' Libras are a bit tricky, Edut says, explaining that they can be both romantic and spicy sometimes. (She notes that people like Bruno Mars, Lil Wayne, Eminem, and Gwen Stefani are all Libras.) So what unifies them all? 'I just think they're all so good-looking, like Bella Hadid. They're the judges and critics too. They can be very: This is the way it is, like Gwyneth Paltrow and her Goop edict. They're very beauty-focused, very much about looking good, being styled up.' Scorpios are our sly, sexy celebs, i.e. the Ryan Goslings and Penn Badgleys of the world. 'They're like definitely the sex symbol types,' Edut says. 'And mysterious.' Leonardo DiCaprio, Drake, Willow Smith, Winona Ryder, Matthew McConaughey, and Kendall Jenner are all Scorpios. 'They're kind of edgy, punk rock, doing it their way. Ryan Gosling is super private. You don't know anything really about Scorpios. They share selectively.' When it comes to Sagittarius celebs, you're going to find a lot of pop stars, Edut says, including Miley Cyrus,Nicki Minaj, Britney Spears, and Taylor Swift. '[They're] everybody's best friend in a way. They have that larger-than-life personality. They're rebels, but also good girls. Sagittarians are known for being generous, ruled by Jupiter, the planet of generosity—I heard [Taylor Swift] gave [people] who worked on her Eras tour a $100,000 bonus.' They've also 'got to tell it like it is,' Edut says, pointing out that Sagittarians are often known for their outspokenness. One of the most well-known Capricorns is, of course, Michelle Obama, a 'strong woman in charge,' Edut says. 'Also it's an earth sign, meaning Capricorns are very devoted to fostering growth. Obama, for instance, did so much with the garden and for kids. They're just women of steel.' Another celeb who represents Capricorns' 'iconic energy'? Edut points to Kate Middleton. And good news for any Capricorns out there: Edut says they age in reverse and a lot have an 'iconic stage' when they're older (Dolly Parton, Betty White, Diane Keaton—all Capricorns). They can also be the best at what they do (LeBron James, John Legend). 'They are just here to be weird and not give a fuck,' Edut says of Aquarians, pointing to singers Alicia Keys and Harry Styles. She adds that they can also have that goofy, girl-next-door energy, like actor Jennifer Aniston. Our Pisces celebs are full of emotions and feelings. See: Rihanna, Drew Barrymore, Millie Bobby Brown. 'Sometimes it almost feels like they're getting the short end of the stick,' Edut says. They can also be a sign of sacrifice, she adds, and sometimes champion a cause, like Simone Biles standing up for mental health. Everything You Need To Know About The Zodiac's Earth Signs: Virgo, Capricorn, And Taurus

I've said it once, and I'll say it again: I am a firmly rooted earth sign. (Capricorn sun, Virgo rising, if you were wondering.) But what does that mean exactly for the people in my life—as well as all others who come in contact with Capricorns, Virgos, and Tauruses? 'Earth signs are the practical planners of the zodiac,' says Tali Edut, one half of The AstroTwins. 'They actually make planning fun.' If that sounds like anyone you know, keep reading to get the dirt on this particular astrological group. FIND OUT MORE ON ELLE COLLECTIVE Do you have what I call 'group project energy'? Then you might just be an earth sign. 'Earth signs are the practical planners of the zodiac,' Edut says. 'They actually make planning fun. Whether it's putting together a vacation or a dinner party—they make sure things actually happen.' In turn, they often love having traditions between them and their friends and family. But earth signs, much like the sturdy ground for which they're named, can also be rigid and dry. '[They can be] a little bit hung up on status and [being] perfectionistic. They want to do a good job, but almost to a point of being really hard on themselves or judgmental of other people.' ...you likely need things to be a certain way in order to feel comfortable. 'You're very connected to your environment,' Edut explains. 'And whatever you're into, you're going to work hard for it. You're going to put in that work to make it happen.' ...you can come across as being serious and hardworking. 'Whether or not you are, people trust you,' she says. 'Usually they see you as this reliable person that they can count on.' ...you need a lot of structure and stability in your personal life, whether it's with your friendships or your romantic relationships. 'Earth moons tend to be more traditional [with] relationships.' Earth and fire signs can make a productive duo, though they don't always see eye to eye. 'Fire signs bring the big ideas, and earth signs are like, "Let's make it happen, and here's how,"' Edut says. However, fire signs are not into traditions or routines, like earth signs. 'They can really disrupt earth signs' inner flow and make them feel insecure.' On the other hand, earth and water signs are an easy match, since they both value comfort and security and 'know how to give that to each other.' The weirdest combo of the three—earth and air—can still 'have a lot of fun together,' Edut says. 'They can help each other to both lighten up and settle down. If they can find a similar groove, it's an odd couple match, but it can work.' As the fixed earth signs, Tauruses are the most stubborn of the three. They're also ruled by the planet Venus, meaning this sensual sign loves art, beauty, comfort, and music. 'They're very tuned into their senses,' Edut says. 'Everything's got to smell good, taste good, look good. Aesthetics are important to them.' It's no surprise then that some of the world's most famous artists are also Tauruses: Adele, Kelly Clarkson, and Lizzo, for example. The mutable earth signs, Edut describes Virgos as 'the fertilizer that causes the plant to shoot through the earth.' In short: They're the fixers of the bunch. 'They make great therapists, advisors, coaches, personal trainers, editors, and curators. They are the critics who can spot the flaws, but they're also good at coming up with ways to make things better.' Even when you didn't ask for it, this perfectionistic sign will always offer feedback. Some of the most famous Virgos are people who are celebrated for being at the top of their game—like Beyoncé, Zendaya, and Ava DuVernay. Traditionally known as the 'father' sign of the zodiac, Capricorns are the cardinal earth sign, making them the rational, objective providers and protectors. 'All earth signs want to make sure that their people are okay,' Edut says. 'Virgos have advice, whereas Capricorns want to provide something and really help.' Capricorns are also the ambitious high-achievers, which can sometimes make them elitist, snobby, or impossible to please. 'They have very high standards, probably the highest standards of any zodiac sign in some ways, but they hold themselves to that standard, too. They're here to achieve and reach their highest potential.' It makes sense why Michelle Obama, Timothée Chalamet, and Mary J. Blige are some of the most famous Capricorns. Edut: A spa day or a nature walk, for sure. Edut: Definitely something with fresh, raw produce from the earth. A big kale salad, an acai bowl—hippie food is earth sign food. Edut: A really nice bag that can fit everything. ELLE Collective is a new community of fashion, beauty and culture lovers. Pisces, Scorpio, and Cancer: Everything to Know About Water Signs

Whooshing waves of emotion, free-flowing tears, and mysterious depth—it's time to dive into the world of water signs. While they're frequently known as the emotional trio of Western astrology, Cancer, Scorpio, and Pisces have a lot more welling up inside. 'They need security, they need a safe home,' says Tali Edut, one half of The AstroTwins, ELLE's resident astrologers. 'They need to feel heard and seen and understood.' Below, learn what else lies below the watery surface. Much like water itself, Edut says water signs are emotionally fluid and their moods shift by the minute. 'They have to change outfits a few times a day.' But water signs are also sensitive to the nuances of interpersonal dynamics and need to have a feeling of security—a safe home and relationships where they feel heard, seen, and understood. 'They care about how people are feeling,' she says. 'They can also get sucked up in those feelings.' ...you're a nurturing person who's all about your family and your home. 'When you're a water sun sign, the people who are close to you, you kind of define yourself through that,' Edut explains. 'The people close to you are important to your identity.' ...you can be perceived as a 'giant mush,' Edut says. You cry at the drop of a hat and tend to be emotionally reactive. 'Very tapped into immediate vibes.' ...you're great at intuiting other people's feelings. But, as Edut explains, that sometimes means you sacrifice your own. 'When you have a water sign moon, you have to really work on being vulnerable and knowing which emotions are yours and which ones you're psychically picking up from other people.' Fire and water can mix well together, but it can get steamy fast. 'It also gets a little too hot to handle,' Edut says. 'You have to be be constantly regulating the temperature, taking breaks, and being mindful of your reactions.' Water and earth, on the other hand, are similar in that they crave a certain level of security and stability. 'Water can get earth to open up more,' she adds. Air and water are a weird mix, but they can bond over their interests in more obscure things. 'They both have this way of loving to discover quirky things. It's an artistic and creative match between them.' However, it may feel a little superficial for water signs, Edut says, while air signs 'might feel like they're getting sucked into drama that they don't really want.' Traditionally referred to as the 'mother' sign, Cancers are known to be nurturing—though only for people they care about. 'It takes a minute to be let into a Cancer's world and past their shell,' Edut explains. 'Once you are, they'll feed you, they'll remember your birthday, they'll send a card.' But know that Cancers are pretty sensitive and can easily get their feelings hurt, often taking things personally. They're also the cardinal water signs, meaning they're a bit bossy and love to take charge. 'They're really great leaders, actually,' Edut says. 'That doesn't get said enough.' Case in point: Some famous Cancers include Mindy Kaling, Ariana Grande, and Meryl Streep—all leaders in their respective fields. Scorpios are the fixed water sign and, in turn, the most routine-driven of the bunch. 'They like to sit down and go deep into something. They're obsessive in terms of their focus.' This can make them really good at coding, finance, and statistics. 'They're very much the detectives of the zodiac, but they're also very mysterious,' Edut says. 'They're secretive, they don't like to be read, they're private. Sometimes, they cover that up by being very loud and obnoxious.' Drake and Hillary Clinton? Both famous Scorpios. Lastly, Pisces are the mutable water sign. 'They're definitely the ebb and flow,' Edut explains. 'They'll disappear one day, come back.' Pisces rule the dream realm and are typically in their own world, making them amazing artists. (Take Rihanna, Justin Bieber, and Millie Bobby Brown—some of our most famous Pisces—for example.) Pisces are also super compassionate and big-hearted. 'If you're okay with not being able to pin them down, they will always be there.' The most understanding of the zodiac signs, Pisces like to help underdogs, but in turn, they can make a lot of sacrifices and then disappear when they get resentful. 'They really struggle with boundaries,' Edut adds. Edut: Definitely clothes from their favorite designer. Water signs need their clothes to be conversation pieces, icebreakers, something that's unique to them. Edut: They do their best work in privacy or at least need to have bouts of privacy, even if they're working with people. A job that lets them go out into the public, but then go back to their cave and assess. Edut: I would say Yellowjackets—all about what happens [next], group dynamics, and emotions.
