Egypt, Saudi foreign ministers praise ‘significant momentum' in ties - Foreign Affairs
Minister of Foreign Affairs Badr Abdelatty and his Saudi counterpart, Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud, lauded 'the significant momentum' in Egyptian-Saudi relations during a meeting in Alamein on Thursday. The two ministers noted that this progress reflects a qualitative leap toward comprehensive development in both countries, according to a foreign ministry statement. This progress has been demonstrated by the establishment of the Egyptian-Saudi Supreme Coordination Council, they added. The council "aims to elevate cooperation to meet the aspirations of both nations and ensure joint action to bolster economic, investment, and trade ties," read the statement. Abdelatty, for his part, condemned what he called "desperate attempts" by some "irresponsible online platforms" to undermine the "historical Egyptian-Saudi relations" or to "offend the two brotherly countries and cast doubt on the strength of their relationship." He underscored the "strength of these fraternal relations," the statement noted. Regional crises on table Furthermore, the two sides discussed pressing regional developments during their meeting, with a primary focus on the Palestinian cause and the situation in Syria. Abdelatty detailed Egypt's ongoing efforts to broker a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip. He also highlighted intensive diplomatic contacts with all parties involved to ensure the unhindered delivery to Gaza of humanitarian aid, which Israel has blocked for months, leaving residents struggling for food, water, and medicine. Abdelatty also reiterated Egypt's intention to host a conference for the reconstruction of the strip, the statement added. Additionally, the two ministers condemned recent Israeli attacks on Syrian territory, including the targeting of the Tishreen Presidential Palace and the General Staff Complex in Damascus. They cited these actions as violations of Syria's sovereignty, unity, and integrity. Both sides stressed that Israel must withdraw from all Syrian territories occupied since 1967, including the Golan Heights. They also affirmed the importance of respecting Syria's sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity. Moreover, the ministers addressed the latest developments in Libya. Abdelatty outlined Egypt's commitment to supporting a Libyan-led solution, free from external influences, as well as fostering national consensus and upholding Libyan national institutions. He also called for concerted international efforts to restore security and stability across the oil-rich country. In addition, the two sides discussed the ongoing efforts to resolve the Sudanese crisis. They reaffirmed their shared commitment to Sudan's unity and territorial integrity, rejecting foreign interference. Both ministers also asserted the necessity of preserving Sudan's national institutions and the interests of its people. Follow us on: Facebook Instagram Whatsapp Short link:

Bayou & Tawsen Link Up on Summer R&B Anthem ‘Kayani'
Egyptian-Saudi artist Bayou returns with 'Kayani', an R&B track featuring Tawsen. The single drops alongside a coastal video and kicks off Bayou's five-city summer tour. Jul 07, 2025 Fresh off the viral success of 'Ya Zeina', Bayou drops 'Kayani' , a breezy Arabic R&B single featuring rising Moroccan artist Tawsen. Produced by Jean Bleu (who has worked with Drake and Marwan Pablo) with additional touches by Grammy-winning producer Motif Alumni (Doja Cat, Don Toliver), 'Kayani' is tailored for summer: smooth, rhythmic, and flirtatiously light on its feet. Opening with the line 'ليلي ونهاري بتمشى لأخر افكاري' ('Day and night, I walk all the way to the edge of my thoughts'), Bayou leans into a melodic coolness that's quickly becoming his signature. Tawsen, known for his genre-blurring French-Arabic delivery, blends seamlessly into the track's sun-drenched tempo. Shot on Egypt's North Coast, the music video pulls inspiration from early-2000s reggaeton with sunlit scenes, loose choreography, and subtle surrealism. The release also marks the start of Bayou's summer tour, hitting Amsterdam, Berlin, London, Jeddah, and Riyadh between July 8th and the 18th.

Egypt & Saudi Arabia Form Council to Boost Bilateral Cooperation
The council will be jointly chaired by President El-Sisi and Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman. Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi has officially approved the formation of the Egyptian-Saudi High Coordination Council, marking a new phase of institutionalised cooperation between Cairo and Riyadh. The move follows Presidential Decree No. 55 of 2025 and reflects the longstanding historical and strategic relations between the two nations. The council, agreed upon by both governments, will be jointly chaired by President El-Sisi and Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman. It will comprise ministers and senior officials from both sides, representing key sectors relevant to the council's mission. Each side will appoint a secretary responsible for coordination and implementation, ensuring streamlined communication and execution of council duties. The council's objectives include strengthening bilateral cooperation across a wide range of sectors—political, security, economic, trade, investment, education, health, agriculture, environment, culture, industry, technology, communications, transport, digital cooperation, infrastructure, and energy. Meetings will be held regularly on a rotating basis between Egypt and Saudi Arabia, with the flexibility to convene extraordinary sessions when needed. Supporting preparatory committees may also be formed to advance the council's work. The council's framework includes a joint governance mechanism developed by both secretaries, outlining the structure, roles, and coordination protocols. This will be subject to approval by the two heads of state, ensuring strategic alignment and operational clarity.
