'Pass It On' Enters Its Third Year: A Game-Changing Sports Initiative Backed by Omar Marmoush and the Egyptian Clothing Bank
Now in its third consecutive year, 'Pass It On' — a nationwide sports initiative launched by the Egyptian Clothing Bank and championed by Egyptian national team star and Manchester City player Omar Marmoush — continues to make a meaningful impact across Egypt. Under the banner 'Sports is a right for all,' the initiative is bringing smiles, hope, and opportunity to thousands of children and young people in underserved communities. Since its launch in 2022, Pass It On has reached over 10,000 young beneficiaries, distributing more than 30,000 pieces of sportswear and footwear. These essential donations have helped break down financial barriers that once prevented talented youth from participating in sports, enabling many to take part in local clubs, competitions, and community events.

CIB & Egyptian Clothing Bank Launch ‘Warmer Winter' Campaign
CIB & Egyptian Clothing Bank Launch 'Warmer Winter' Campaign The campaign aims to provide warm clothing to 100,000 underprivileged children in Fayoum, Gharbia and Kafr El-Sheikh this winter. CIB Foundation continues its partnership with the Egyptian Clothing Bank through the launch of the 'Warmer Winter' campaign, which aims to provide warm clothes to 100,000 underprivileged children in Fayoum, Gharbia and Kafr El-Sheikh this winter. This new campaign comes as part of the 'For Egypt' initiative and builds on over a decade of collaboration between CIB and the Egyptian Clothing Bank, which has already provided warmth to over 700,000 children across various governorates. Underprivileged children in many regions face serious health risks in winter, as they lack the clothing and heating to cope with often biting temperatures. Prolonged exposure to the winter cold significantly affects their long-term health, development and well-being, and can also lead to life-threatening complications in extreme cases. 'The campaign is not just a humanitarian initiative, but rather a winter vaccine for these children,' Engineer Sherif El-Saeed, Director of the CIB Foundation, tells CairoScene. 'Warmer Winter' seeks to emphasise that warmth is a necessity and as such, should be available to all, distributing high-quality winter clothing made from 100% recycled materials in areas where it is most needed. 'Integrating humanitarian aid, environmental sustainability and economic empowerment, this partnership creates a comprehensive framework for social development,' Dr Moez El-Shohdi, Chairman of the Egyptian Clothing Bank, tells CairoScene. As part of this outreach for social development, 'Warmer Winter' extends its focus to economically empowering Egyptian women, as the clothes distributed are produced in workshops led by the ِEgyptian Clothing Bank, where women receive training in sewing, garment production and recycling.
