Obama Official Files Bombshell Demand for Epstein Files and Secret Trump Messages

One of President Donald Trump's most persistent legal foes is going after the Epstein files. Norm Eisen—the former White House ethics chief under former President Barack Obama and a longtime critic of Trump—has filed a sweeping Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request demanding the Justice Department and Federal Bureau of Investigation hand over any files related to disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein that may reference the former president. 'The govt's credibility is hanging by a thread—& now they're pushing a lie the MAGA base isn't even buying!' Eisen wrote on X. 'We filed FOIAs to find the truth, because the Epstein files are real, & so is the Trump regime's threat to democracy.' 'The public needs to know what these files say about the most powerful man in the world—and what Trump's appointees in government, such as Bove, Bondi, and FBI Director Kash Patel, knew and when they knew it," Eisen added in a Substack post. The president has faced a revolt among his conspiracy-minded supporters since the Justice Department and FBI concluded in a July 6 memo that Epstein died by suicide while awaiting trial in prison, rather than being murdered, and that no 'client list' of wealthy co-conspirators exists. The news has sparked a backlash and calls for Attorney General Pam Bondi to resign. 'Trump, of course, wants us to talk about anything but this,' he said. Earlier this month, Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard accused Obama of cooking up intelligence on Russian election interference in a 'treasonous conspiracy' against Trump, which critics have assailed as a thinly veiled attempt to distract from the controversy. Filed through Eisen's watchdog group, the States United Democracy Defenders Fund, the bombshell request requests any Epstein-related documents that have been reviewed by Bondi, Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche, Principal Associate Deputy Attorney General Emil Bove, FBI Director Kash Patel, and FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino. Eisen's FOIA filing also asks for any internal communications between Bondi and associates that discuss how to 'approach or address references to Donald Trump or Mar-a-Lago' and materials produced in any meetings in which the case was discussed. Bondi told Trump earlier this year that his name appears in the materials. Trump has denied she did so. The DOJ has so far refused to comment on the matter. Eisen has been a persistent Trump foe: He filed one of the first emoluments lawsuits against the president and served as special counsel for the Judiciary Committee during his first impeachment, writing an insider account about the proceedings, A Case for the American People. Eisen, a co-founder of the nonpartisan watchdog group Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CREW), has spent years scrutinizing Trump's business entanglements, foreign profits, and alleged abuses of power. The White House did not immediately respond to a request for comment. The DOJ declined to comment.

Rich Eisen's ESPN-bound show will be featured on ESPN Radio

It was announced in May that Rich Eisen's weekday show will be heading to ESPN. We now know a little more about where it will land. Via Andrew Marchand of The Rich Eisen Show will become the centerpiece of ESPN Radio, taking over the 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. ET slot. It will replace something called Joe & Q. Eisen's show also will stream on Disney+, ESPN+, the long-awaited ESPN direct-to-consumer streaming product, coming this month. The move sets up an interesting in-house competition between and among Eisen, Pat McAfee (whose show airs in that time slot), and Stephen A. Smith (who has a new SiriusXM show that will conflict with Eisen's show). (Everyone will say all the right things about this unusual intramural arrangement. But we know a thing or two about how Type-A alphas operate.) One last note. Marchand mentions that Eisen's offerings will include a podcast in which Eisen will interview his SportsCenter colleagues from his initial run (1996 through 2003) in Bristol.

Rich Eisen Picks New Orleans Saints to be Sleeper Team in 2025

Rich Eisen Picks New Orleans Saints to be Sleeper Team in 2025 originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The New Orleans Saints could make a splash in 2025. NFL insider Rich Eisen released a list of his sleeper teams in 2025 during The Rich Eisen Show, with the Saints being his fifth-ranked potential sleeper team. Advertisement New Orleans is projected to be one of the worst-performing teams next season, with predictions for them to finish dead last in the NFC South for the second season in a row. The Saints went 5-12 in 2024 and are projected to finish with a similar number of wins, with their over/under set at 5.5 wins. The media have been harsh when it comes to New Orleans, but the low expectations for the Saints aren't a surprise. The Saints have a rookie head coach and will be starting a young quarterback with little to no NFL experience. The team is in the midst of a rebuilding year and despite the already existing talent on the roster, there are a lot of question marks surrounding the team. However, New Orleans could surprise a lot of people in 2025. Kellen Moore is a respected offensive mind in the NFL and went out and drafted his choice for quarterback. The Saints still house plenty of talented players, old and young. Advertisement Stephen Lew-Imagn Images The Saints' offense will also focus on a run-heavy approach in 2025. The offense's scheme will be quarterback-friendly and hopes to minimize the mistakes of their young signal caller. Eisen has been a fan of the offseason moves in New Orleans. The NFL Insider named the team's talent in the receiver room and their schedule as strong points for the team. Eisen also complimented the Saints' offense on their two-week start in 2024, naming them as the same team, just without Derek Carr. From the signing of Moore to drafting their potential quarterback of the future, the team could shake up expectations in 2025. While it will be a long road for the Saints, the second-easiest strength of schedule and a young core can lead to the black and gold shattering expectations. Rich Eisen thinks Matthew Stafford is 'no-brainer' Hall of Famer

The Hall of Fame question about Matthew Stafford will get tossed around a lot as he heads toward the end of his career, either after this season or whenever he decides to retire. While he won't be eligible for five years after he leaves the league, Stafford's legacy will be an interesting debate for when he could make the Hall of Fame ballot. While some NFL pundits don't believe Stafford will make it to Canton, NFL Network's Rich Eisen believes the Los Angeles Rams quarterback is a "no brainer" Hall of Fame player. "You can't control who's drafting you,' Eisen said. 'Now, you control if you stay with them, and he wanted to restore the roar there, and you know, the fact that he was a Lion that whole time, and he's got better stats than [Dan] Marino and he's got a ring. How does that not put him in?" To put it into perspective, Stafford needs 1,553 yards to pass Marino for ninth all-time and four passing touchdowns to move up to No. 9 ahead of Matt Ryan on the NFL all-time list. He has completed 63.4% of his career passing attempts for 59,809 yards, 377 touchdowns and 188 interceptions with an overall record of 108-113-1. 'The numbers I have given, to me, makes it a no brainer.' said Eisen 'You can say 'stat compiler,' he was doing it for one of the worst teams in the NFL and stuck it out to the point where he said 'I need to go somewhere else,' and then as soon as he got somewhere else, he got the ring." This is a debate that won't be resolved until after Stafford's playing career is officially over. If he retired today, though, it would be a hard conversation. However, Stafford will play in 2025 and likely at least one more season, for the Rams or otherwise. The Super Bowl ring makes the argument stronger than it was before 2021, but he needs to add to his production either on the box score or in the accolades column. Another ring would certainly make it hard to keep him out when he finally ends up on the ballot.

Inside ‘Alligator Alcatraz'

'Alligator Alcatraz' is a bold, brutal message from an administration that has made punishing immigration enforcement a centerpiece principle: When it comes to migrants, no location is too remote, no condition too harsh, no deterrent too cruel. Advertisement The Everglades compound is no outlier. It represents the logical — and dangerous — escalation of an enforcement-first immigration agenda that treats asylum seekers and unauthorized migrants as threats to be neutralized. With 'Alligator Alcatraz,' Trump is doubling down on spectacle over substance, cruelty over compassion, and militarization over meaningful reform. Experts say that the new facility is unprecedented in both scale and messaging. 'What's new is the cruelty and the inhumanity,' Advertisement Eisen underscored a crucial distinction to counter the 'criminal alien' narrative that the Trump administration is always amplifying. 'Immigration detention centers are civil detention centers,' she said. By and large, these are not people convicted of crimes; 'they are being detained under civil law,' many after fleeing war or human rights violations in their home countries. She said that there are What's especially alarming is that the new facility is going to be run by the state of Florida. 'I'm worried other states will follow suit,' or follow the blueprint of 'Alligator Alcatraz,' especially if they know they'll be reimbursed by the federal government, Eisen said. 'All of this is happening while Congress is in the middle of budget reconciliations. The Senate and House bills would provide ICE with Even worse, there's little hope for meaningful oversight. Eisen noted that Advertisement Immigration detention is supposed to be civil. 'Alligator Alcatraz' is anything but.
