Elden Ring creators FromSoftware will have two new games next year claims report

The developer behind Elden Ring and Dark Souls is working on another mystery game which could be released next year, according to an insider. Following the launch of Elden Ring Nightreign in May, we now know virtually nothing about what developer FromSoftware is currently working on. They have announced The Duskbloods, but apart from it being a multiplayer focused game for Nintendo Switch 2 next to nothing has been revealed about it. However, considering how prolific FromSoftware has been in the past, it's almost certain the team is working on multiple projects at once. The subject of FromSoftware's next game, beyond The Duskbloods and Elden Ring Nightreign DLC, has become a talking point thanks to a new report which claims the studio is in the 'advanced stages of production' on an as-of-yet unannounced game. According to insider Kurakasis (via Mp1st), who has previously leaked games ahead of time, the unannounced title is a multiplatform game with the codename FMC. This is believed to be an abbreviation of the actual codename, with Elden Ring having the abbreviated codename of GR for 'Great Rune'. While there's no details on the game itself, it's claimed the project is so far in development that, unless it is delayed, we 'should be able to play it no later than next year'. This might feel like a reach, with The Duskbloods already coming out next year, but FromSoftware has launched multiple titles within the same year in the past. Admittedly new games do take longer to make than ever, but From has had a major new title out almost every year, or usually at least every two years, since its inception, emphasising the fact that they always have multiple projects on the go at once. When compared to the abbreviated codenames of past FromSoftware games, Kurakasis points out how every codename beginning with 'F' has connected to either Dark Souls or Armored Core – From's longest running franchises. Some people have connected the dots to a rumour which emerged last year around a Dark Souls 3 remaster, although 2018's Dark Souls Remastered was developed by QLOC and Virtuous, with From only working on it in an advisory capacity. It did, however, have the codename FHD. The chances of the new game being an Armored Core title seem slim considering the last instalment, Armored Core 6: Fires Of Rubicon, launched in 2023, but the series has a history of dropping spin-offs after mainline entries. More Trending Armored Core: Verdict Day launched a year after 2012's Armored Core 5, while 2008's Armored Core: For Answer came out two years after Armored Core 4. As such, a direct sequel would also fit the timeline for 2026. Of course, there's a chance this project is something else entirely. FromSoftware boss Hidetaka Miyazaki has said there's no plans for more Elden Ring in the foreseeable future, but he did leave the door open for a potential revisit somewhere further down the line. 'We don't have any current plans to make a second DLC or a sequel, but we definitely don't want to snuff out that possibility,' he told IGN in February last year. 'We think that there could well be something in the future.' If another project is set to come out next year, that might mean The Duskbloods could be planned for early 2026 – something which could be revealed at the next Nintendo Direct, rumoured for this month. ‘Elden Ring: Nightreign,' ‘Oblivion Remastered' and ‘Mario Kart World' Top List of Most-Streamed New Games of Q2 (Gaming News Roundup)

'Elden Ring: Nightreign,' 'The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered' and 'Mario Kart World' topped Stream Charts newly released list of the most-streamed new games between April 1-June 30. While certainly not an exact science, the rankings, which are based on Stream Charts' collected data on hours viewed of live-streamers playing the games in their first week of release, indicate the new titles with the strongest impact on the industry during the past few months. 'Q2 2025 proved to be a dynamic quarter for game releases, showcasing a clear dichotomy in livestreaming success,' Stream Charts product manager Nazar Babenko said. 'While established franchise titans like Elden Ring: Nightreign and The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered leveraged their brand power and strategic updates (such as roguelike elements and Unreal Engine 5 remasters) to dominate viewership, the quarter also highlighted the significant impact of innovative newcomers. Blue Prince and Rematch carved out substantial niches, demonstrating that unique gameplay, critical acclaim, and targeted streamer engagement can drive considerable initial interest, even against industry giants. Babenko continued: 'Beyond the top contenders, we can notice the growing importance of localized appeal and strategic viewer incentives. The strong regional performance of Shadowverse: Worlds Beyond in Japan and Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 in France underscores how cultural resonance and 'homegrown' support can significantly boost initial stats. Furthermore, the effective use of Twitch Drops by games like Dune: Awakening and DOOM: The Dark Ages illustrates a sophisticated understanding of audience engagement, transforming passive viewers into active participants and solidifying Q2 2025 as a period defined by both blockbuster appeal and nuanced, community-driven success.' Elden Ring Nightreign and Silent Hill 2 get huge discounts on Amazon

If you make a purchase via links on this page we will earn commission – learn more FromSoftware's Elden Ring spin-off has been discounted barely a month after launch, as the Amazon sales somehow get better after Prime Day. Amazon Prime Day came to an end last Friday, but that hasn't stopped a bunch of new deals on games popping up on the website almost straight away. In fact, many Amazon Prime Day deals are still up now, including discounts on Split Fiction, Assassin's Creed Shadows, Tekken 8, and others. While it's unclear exactly why, you might want to jump on them sooner rather than later, in case someone's fallen asleep at the deal wheel. Some new discounts have popped up too, with one of the standouts being Elden Ring Nightreign. The co-op multiplayer spin-off has been a big hit sales wise since it came out at the end of May, and it's not full price anyway, so these discounts are surprising. On Amazon, Elden Ring Nightreign is 28% off on PlayStation 5 at £28.93, down from £39.99. Similarly, it's 20% off on Xbox Series X/S at £31.95. However, the best discounts are on the special editions. The Seekers Edition, which includes a SteelBook, digital artbook, soundtrack, and access to upcoming DLC, is 35% off at £35.95 on PlayStation 5. Sign up to the GameCentral newsletter for a unique take on the week in gaming, alongside the latest reviews and more. Delivered to your inbox every Saturday morning. Meanwhile, the Collector's Edition, which throws in a statue of Wylder, eight Nightfarers cards, and a physical artbook, is £80 off at £99.99. More Trending There are other notable discounts too, with The Last Of Us Part 2 Remastered 44% off at £25, while Silent Hill 2 is down to £34.99. You can check out all these deals below. According to SteamDB, Elden Ring Nightreign's popularity has remained fairly steady since it launched on May 30, 2025, although it is naturally declining. After it racked up a peak player count of 313,593 players at launch, its 24-hour peak at the time of writing is 77,172. It is currently 22nd in the list of Steam's most played games though, just behind Marvel Rivals and Dead By Daylight. While the game has been a success so far, it's biggest test will be whether it can maintain these numbers in the months to come. FromSoftware has already promised a two-player mode and upcoming DLC, although a release date for those is yet to be announced. Email gamecentral@ leave a comment below, follow us on Twitter. Elden Ring Nightreign July 2 Downtime maintenance schedule

Image via FromSoftware. Elden Ring Nightreign burst onto the scene immediately when it was released on May 30, 2025. Since then, it seems players can't even leave that title for a day, but that streak might be broken on July 2, 2025, as there will be maintenance downtime in the game for a new patch. Despite being set in the same universe as Elden Ring, this FromSoftware title is a lot different than the base game. Nightreign is basically a standalone co-op action RPG, where players represent one of the eight available character classes in the game called Nightfarers. Players were already pretty satisfied with this title, and this upcoming patch is surely going to add to that. Elden Ring Nightreign July 2, 2025 server maintenance downtime details In a recent tweet from the official handle of Elden Ring, the developers have notified the players that Nightreign servers will undergo maintenance on July 2, 2025 at 1 AM PDT. This server downtime will be taken into action to implement patch the highly awaited patch 1.01.4. However, players need not to worry as the downtime will run for only one hour on all platforms, and after that, players can resume their Nightreign journey immediately. Despite revealing the maintenance schedule, FromSoftware is yet to deliver a detailed overview about the upcoming patch. However, there are several issues right now in the game which are expected to be fixed through the upcoming patch. But on some occasions, it has been seen that these spirits are losing their HPs for no reason, making this ability of Revenant less effective. Also, FromSoftware can also add some much requested features like an improved Relic Search System to find stats in a more refined way. However, one of the most anticipated features has to be the Duo mode in the game as currently you can only play solo or in a 3-player team. However, these are all just mere speculations, and we have to wait till tomorrow to know what FromSoftware is really cooking for the patch 1.01.4 in the Elden Ring Nightreign. Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 climbs chart after 'unusual' sales boost

One of the breakout games of 2025 is soaring up the charts even a month after launch, surpassing Doom: The Dark Ages in revenue. Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 surprised everyone by being an early contender for game of the year, but its sales have also surpassed expectations. Developed by Sandfall Interactive, the French turn-based role-player managed to sell one million units within three days following its launch on April 24. Since then, in very apt timing, the studio announced it had surpassed 3.3 million copies after 33 days. The success of Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 has now taken an 'unusual' turn, as despite coming out in April, it has ascended on Newzoo's revenue chart for May. As reported by Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 moved up five places to number eight on the chart, which lists the top 20 games by revenue in the US, UK, Germany, France, Spain, and Italy across PC and consoles. Newzoo described this movement as 'unusual for a premium title' as they usually drop in sales after their release month. As for the reason behind the increase, the firm believes it is 'a showcase of the strength of a high-quality game and continued word-of-mouth marketing'. Along with these factors, the mid-range £44.99 price of Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 has also likely contributed to its success – at a time when many new games cost £70. Sign up to the GameCentral newsletter for a unique take on the week in gaming, alongside the latest reviews and more. Delivered to your inbox every Saturday morning. Notably, the game managed to beat Doom: The Dark Ages, which debuted at number nine. According to Newzoo, the shooter's placement was due to 'a big portion of revenues being tied to Xbox Game Pass'. More Trending While over 95% of full sales for Doom: The Dark Ages came from PlayStation and Steam, Xbox players accounted for 72% of monthly active users on Newzoo's engagement chart. In other words, only a small portion of players actually bought the full game. Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 also launched on Xbox Game Pass, but considering Doom: The Dark Ages is significantly more expensive to buy at £69.99, it's perhaps unsurprising that the majority of players went down the Game Pass route instead. The other new addition on the chart was Elden Ring Nightreign, which managed to hit the number four spot despite being released on May 30, 2025.
