Andrew Cuomo, conceded defeat.

Monolithic Power Systems (MPWR): Buy, Sell, or Hold Post Q1 Earnings?
Since June 2020, the S&P 500 has delivered a total return of 102%. But one standout stock has doubled the market - over the past five years, Monolithic Power Systems has surged 204% to $687.64 per share. Its momentum hasn't stopped as it's also gained 10.9% in the last six months, beating the S&P by 10%. Is it too late to buy MPWR? Find out in our full research report, it's free. Founded in 1997 by its longtime CEO Michael Hsing, Monolithic Power Systems (NASDAQ:MPWR) is an analog and mixed signal chipmaker that specializes in power management chips meant to minimize total energy consumption. A company's long-term sales performance is one signal of its overall quality. Any business can put up a good quarter or two, but the best consistently grow over the long haul. Thankfully, Monolithic Power Systems's 29.6% annualized revenue growth over the last five years was incredible. Its growth surpassed the average semiconductor company and shows its offerings resonate with customers. Semiconductors are a cyclical industry, and long-term investors should be prepared for periods of high growth followed by periods of revenue contractions (which can sometimes offer opportune times to buy). If you've followed StockStory for a while, you know we emphasize free cash flow. Why, you ask? We believe that in the end, cash is king, and you can't use accounting profits to pay the bills. Monolithic Power Systems has shown terrific cash profitability, and if sustainable, puts it in an advantageous position to invest in new products, return capital to investors, and consolidate the market during industry downturns. The company's free cash flow margin was among the best in the semiconductor sector, averaging 29.2% over the last two years. Growth gives us insight into a company's long-term potential, but how capital-efficient was that growth? A company's ROIC explains this by showing how much operating profit it makes compared to the money it has raised (debt and equity). Monolithic Power Systems's five-year average ROIC was 45.7%, placing it among the best semiconductor companies. This illustrates its management team's ability to invest in highly profitable ventures and produce tangible results for shareholders. These are just a few reasons why we're bullish on Monolithic Power Systems, and with its shares beating the market recently, the stock trades at 42.1× forward P/E (or $687.64 per share). Is now a good time to initiate a position? See for yourself in our full research report, it's free. Scanlon remains undecided on mayoral run ahead of Friday deadline
BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — Acting Buffalo Mayor Chris Scanlon remains undecided on whether he will continue his run for mayor in November's general election after he lost the Democratic primary to State Senator Sean Ryan by 3,000 votes. The deadline to decide to come off of the third-party ballot line, the Good Neighbors party, is on Friday, or it needs to be postmarked by tomorrow and received by Tuesday. On WIVB News 4's Ask the Mayor segment Thursday, Scanlon said he needs to have more conversations with his team before making an official announcement on his campaign's future. 'A lot of these conversations you have when you're making a decision like this, it doesn't just impact you,' Scanlon said. 'If it only impacted me, it's very easy for me to make the decision, but there's other people in my life — whether it's family or other people — that these decisions can impact, so it's about having those conversations and making sure that everyone's on the same page.' Scanlon said Tuesday's loss caught him off guard, but that he has continued to receive support since then. 'We tried to get as many of our supporters out as possible,' he said. 'Maybe we didn't do a good enough job at that, but again, over the course of the next few days, we'll continue to have those conversations about moving forward.' Aside from the mayoral primary, Scanlon spoke about the city's plan to sell parking ramps and said the next step is to appoint members to the parking authority. Scanlon also said the city's pools will open on July 1 and that splash pads and cooling centers will also be in operation this summer. He encouraged children to get involved with a variety of summer programs, which can be found here. Watch the full Ask the Mayor segment in the video player above. Mayor Adams launches independent reelection bid, targets Mamdani
City Hall (PIX11) — Mayor Eric Adams officially launched an independent bid for re-election Thursday, two days after Assemblymember Zohran Mamdani stunned the city's political establishment by becoming the presumptive Democratic nominee for Mayor. Adams was flanked by hundreds of supporters on the steps of City Hall, including many members of various religious communities. More Local News Adams is still trying to move past his now-dismissed federal corruption case, and has made at least one top aide caught up in the investigation, a campaign staffer. Adams said that for all the controversy, he led the city out of COVID, grew the economy, improved schools and quality of life, while making real progress on housing. 'In my second term, I'm going to continue to bring down crime, build a citywide mental health initiative, expand workforce development and vocational education,' Adams said. The mayor also took direct aim at Mamdani, calling him a 'snake oil salesman' and accusing him of making big promises he could never deliver. 'This is not a city of handouts,' Adams said. 'It's a city of hands up. We're going to continue to lift New Yorkers up, and I ask you to continue to stand with me.' Mamdani spoke one-on-one with PIX11 for the first time since Election night. 'This is a mayor who exacerbated the cost-of-living crisis, raised rents, and brought the water bill to its highest level in 13 years,' Mamdani said. The Assemblymember, who represents parts of Queens, is campaigning on a progressive platform that includes freezing rents on stabilized apartments, making city buses free, and creating universal child care. He said many of these proposals could be paid for through new taxes on the wealthy and corporations. More: Latest News from Around the Tri-State PIX 11 pressed Mamdani on how he would move forward with his agenda without support from Albany, particularly after Gov. Kathy Hochul said she would not raise taxes. 'To be clear, freezing the rent requires nothing from the state,' he said. 'It was done three times during the previous mayoral administration. And while raising taxes may be called a non-starter, so was our campaign. What we've done is build a movement unlike much else in this city's history, and that's the movement that will deliver this agenda.' In the full interview, Mamdani also addressed questions about what compromises he'd be willing to make to accomplish his agenda. Plus, how he plans to keep the city safe with his past criticism of policing. Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc. All rights reserved. Panchayat delimitation faces delays amid political pressure
Jaipur: The Rajasthan govt has failed to meet its June 4 deadline for finalising the list of gram panchayats and panchayat samitis following the delimitation process, throwing the state's electoral timeline into uncertainty. The Panchayati Raj department, which received 3,000 proposals for new gram panchayats and 115 for panchayat samitis, is struggling to complete the reorganisation process due to intense political pressure and local interference. This delay has cast doubt on the implementation of the 'One State, One Election' initiative, with both panchayat and municipal polls scheduled for later this year. A senior official from the panchayati raj department, speaking on condition of anonymity, described the situation as "tumultuous," citing frequent political intervention when attempting to follow established population norms for panchayat body formation. "For instance, proposals are being pushed for creating panchayats in areas with insufficient population and inadequate distances, and when we try to correct this, we face pressure from above," the official said. Earlier, PCC president Govind Singh Dotasra accused RSS and BJP of running a parallel delimitation process and pressuring officials for political gain. He specifically named Rajya Sabha MP Ghanshyam Tiwari, former BJP state president Arun Chaturvedi and ex-minister Rajendra Rathore as key figures allegedly influencing district officials involved in the delimitation process. Talking to TOI Thursday, opposition leader Tikaram Jully criticised the state govt's handling of the situation and said, "They have murdered democracy in the state." He pointed out that even the Chief Minister's home district of Bharatpur has not held Zila Pramukh elections for one-and-a-half years now. The Rajasthan High Court had also sought the govt's response regarding the postponement of elections in over 6,000 gram panchayats and the appointment of sarpanchs as administrators. Currently, Rajasthan has 11,253 gram panchayats and 352 panchayat samitis. Attempts to reach panchayati raj minister Madan Dilawar for a comment were unsuccessful despite repeated phone calls.
