UK's most vape-addicted counties named in worrying new figures
Alarming new data from experts have revealed the top 10 vape-addicted counties across the UK, with the Big Smoke ironically ranking seventh and a surprising English 'winner' The UK is in a strawberry-scented cloud chokehold, with one county being dubbed Britain's vape capital. Despite the government recently clamping down on vaping by banning single-use devices - many Brits are still hooked on their Lost Mary and Elf bars. Companies have adapted to the ban quickly, selling similar-priced devices with a single-use pod that can be taken out and replaced. While this is substantially better than exclusively flogging disposable vapes, it has sparked concern that these reusable devices will still be viewed as throwaway products - despite containing precious metals. After many Brits chose to stockpile on single-use vapes before the ban, it is predicted that millions of vapes will still be thrown away or littered every single week. But, which counties are the worst culprits when it comes to sucking on these insatiably popular devices? Well, a new report by Vape Ease UK has mapped out the country's nicotine addiction after analysing data on the number of vape shops in each area, as well as the percentage of adult vapers, and how often locals are Googling the word 'vape'. Lancashire, located in North West England, was named and shamed as Britain's vape capital, with a whopping 40 vape shops per 100,000 people in the region of Accrington. Vape Ease UK states the adult vaping rate in the region is around eight to nine per cent, while the search interest for 'vape' is 'massive'. "From Blackburn to Burnley, vaping is part of daily life — and Accrington leads the UK in per-person vape shop access," the experts said in a statement sent to the Mirror. Following a close second is Greater Manchester - with 33 vape shops per 100,000 residents in Bolton and 26 shops per 100,000 residents in Stockport. "Seven out of the UK's top 15 vaping hotspots are in Greater Manchester," the pros added. "Vape shops are everywhere, and locals are constantly Googling e-liquids and devices. It's a true vape stronghold." As previously reported, these fruit-flavoured devices can still increase the risk of a slew of diseases including dementia, heart disease and organ failure. The biggest risk with vaping seems to be its ubiquitous nature. As Dr Boidin points out: "Smokers tend to go outside and smoke, and once a cigarette is finished they have to light up another to keep going. "But with vapes, you just keep going and it's much harder to know how many puffs you've had. It's much easier to vape continuously because you can do it in places where smoking might be less acceptable."

With Ben now married to Vanessa Brown, his ex Vanessa couldn't help but take a swipe at him. It comes after Ben seemingly made a dig of his own. Following his ceremony at a stunning Cumbria castle, he explained how his nuptials were 'a new beginning' and said: "I wasted 17 years of my life." While discussing spouses on her Channel 5 show, she said to the other stars: "And I'm sitting here single, single and all alone." Ben and his new wife met last year while he was with his old girlfriend, Precious. The couple met at an awards ceremony in April of that year, but they didn't get together until a few months later. Vanessa, who is an aesthetics expert who is over two decades younger than Ben, had the happiest shock of her life when Ben got down on one knee to propose to her in Central Park in New York City in February. 'Vanessa was completely surprised. They were walking through the park, reminiscing about Elf, when Ben suddenly proposed,' a source told The Sun at the time. 'It was so heartfelt — happy tears, laughter, and, of course, an immediate yes!' Six months later, they tied the knot in a gorgeous ceremony at Rose Castle in Cumbria. In pictures shared online, the £100k ceremony featured famous faces and a lavish drone show. Ben rocked a cream suit and black shirt for the ceremony while Vanessa sported a strapless lace gown. Among the 72 guests were the likes of Boyzone's Keith Duffy, S Club 7's Bradley McIntosh, and 911's Lee Brennan. Ben's best man was none other than Shane Lynch. Ben's former Phats & Small bandmate, Rodney Williams, also gave a heartfelt speech during the special evening. When it was time for Ben and Vanessa's first dance, they opted for the band's own song, Every Day I Love You. Guests were treated to Jeal-Noel Geritage Champagne and watched in awe when it was time for the drone show, which depicted the couple's love story. The couple shared their love story in their order of service, which read: "We met on the 19th April 2024 at the Elite Awards in Carlisle – a night we will never forget. It just so happened that Ben was performing [at the event] with Boyz on Block as a last-minute addition after Boyzlife [comprising Boyzone's Duffy and Westlife's Brian McFadden] had to cancel. If Brian and Keith had not stepped back, Ben wouldn't have been on that stage, and we might never have met. 'After the show, we ended up chatting – nothing planned or forced. That conversation sparked something real, and everything changed from there. Since that night, we've packed a lifetime into a year. Then, in February 2025, during the most unforgettable trip to New York, Ben proposed. Now standing here on our wedding day with all of you, it's surreal and beautiful to think how it all began.' Speaking to MailOnline following his big day, Ben said: "I have always wanted to be married since I was seven years old. I always wanted to be with someone who would take my surname. "I almost gave up on marriage, thinking there wasn't a lady that would walk down the aisle for me. I can't believe the day has come, it is a dream come true. UD begins selling Isuzu-based light trucks in Malaysia
Japanese truck-maker UD Trucks Corporation announced that it has launched its new Kuzer light-duty truck for international markets, with Malaysia as the first market to receive the model. The new Kuzer light truck will be rolled out in other markets in the region over the next year. The new Kuzer in based on Isuzu's N-Series (Elf) light truck range, after the two companies stepped up their integration following Isuzu's acquisition of UD Trucks from Volvo Trucks in 2021. In Malaysia, the two companies have been collaborating since 2023. The new Kuzer is available in Malaysia with 7.5 and 8.5 tons GVWs and comes with a reduced chassis weight to provide additional payload capacity. The Kuzer, which retains the basic UD Trucks cabin design, is powered by Isuzu's 4HK1-TC 5.2L engine. It comes with advanced features as standard including ABS, EBD, ASR, SRS airbags, and LED headlamps, as well as standard security features including immobilizer, central locking, and remote keyless entry.
