Is Iran truly an existential threat to Israel or to its own people?

Why is it always the West versus Iran? Iranian American lawyer Elica Le Bon says the Islamic Republic's very ideology is built around opposing the West, reinforced by slogans like 'Death to America' and 'Death to Israel.' But what would Iran actually do with a nuclear weapon? Le Bon argues the greater threat isn't an attack, but the regime becoming a powerful deterrent state one that cannot be deterred. Is Iran truly an existential threat to Israel? And why do millions of Iranians oppose the regime so strongly? In this episode of the Riz Khan Show, Le Bon explains how generations have been shaped by repression, executions, and fear under Iran's leadership.

Protests against US strikes in Iran support a brutal regime, not the people says attorney Elica Le Bon

Protesters waving the Islamic Republic of Iran flag in protest against US strikes are actually supporting a brutal Iranian regime and not the country's people, attorney and activist Elica Le Bon has claimed. The US became directly involved in the Middle East crisis on Sunday when B2 Bombers targeted Iran's critical nuclear targets sites in a desperate bid to prevent the regime from obtaining nuclear weapons. However, protests against the US strikes have sprouted across the West, including in Sydney where crowds gathered and waved flags used by the Iranian regime's leadership. Pointing to similar rallies, Le Bon said Iranians themselves were not represented, as the vast majority of Iranian people are against the country's regime and want it dismantled. 'Not a single person in that crowd, not one of them is Iranian,' Le Bon told Sky News host Chris Kenny on Tuesday. 'If you want to know where all the Iranians are that are absent in the 'hands off the Islamic Republic protests', they're all at the 'free Iran from the Islamic Republic' protests.' The attorney labelled it 'bizarre' that people who claimed to support human rights are supporting the brutal Iranian regime in the face of strikes. 'Not a single human rights activist, not a single humanitarian, not a single social justice warrior, is at the protest where we're saying 'hands off the Iranian people',' Le Bon said. 'They're all at the protests that says 'hands off the Islamic Republic'. What is happening?'

‘Bizarre': Human rights activists' hypocrisy in attending pro-Islamic Republic protests

Attorney and Speaker Elica Le Bon highlights the hypocrisy of activists amid the Israel-Iran war, claiming their views are not consistent with the Iranian diaspora. 'The same survey shows that 99 per cent of Iranians in the diaspora are opposed to the Islamic Republic,' Ms Le Bon told Sky News host Chris Kenny. 'If you look at these protests that are in New York, that are in Germany, where they are holding up this bloody flag of the Islamic Republic and wearing their keffiyehs, not a single person in that crowd … is Iranian. 'It's so, so bizarre that not a single human rights activist … is at the protest where we're saying hands off the Iranian people, they're all at the protest that says hands off the Islamic Republic.'

Iranians remain hopeful for liberation amid ceasefire

Attorney and Speaker Elica Le Bon states that the war between Israel and Iran was not aimed at regime change, despite the Iranian people's hopeful outlook for liberation from the Islamic regime under Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. 'There's so many mixed emotions … especially amongst the people inside Iran right now,' Ms Le Bon told Sky News host Chris Kenny. 'I don't think Iranians anticipated that this was going to be a war that was going to liberate them. 'Nobody expected that this was a war for regime change by any means; however, I do think there was a sense of optimism that their liberation or a regime change would be incidental to this war.'

‘Knuckleheads' Tucker Carlson and Ted Cruz roasted for being ‘clueless' on Iran

Attorney Elica Le Bon claims the debate between conservative commentator Tucker Carlson and US Republican Senator Ted Cruz on Iran was 'comedic relief'. 'You have two knuckleheads debating each other about a country that none of them knows anything about,' Ms Le Bon told Sky News Senior Reporter Caroline Marcus. 'The most clueless people are claiming to represent what Iranian people want, and neither of them are even interested in listening to what Iranian people want. 'They just have absolutely no knowledge or interest in what's really going on in Iran.'
