England beat Germany to defend European Under-21 crown

Elliot began the move for England's second goal with a chipped pass into the path of James McAtee and when the midfielder found his route blocked by two defenders he laid off the ball to Hutchinson who drilled his strike through the keeper's legs. Hutchinson somersaulted away in celebration after his 24th-minute goal but Germany pulled one back in added time before the break. Paul Nebel crossed from the wing and Nelson Weiper rose unchallenged to power a header past England keeper James Beadle. The equaliser came in the 61st minute from a corner kick which went all the way to Nebel, out wide in the area, who pulled inside and drove the ball into the far top corner. Both sides created further chances but extra time was needed and England went back in front within two minutes when substitute Tyler Morton floated a perfect ball into the box and the unmarked Jonathan Rowe headed home. Rowe had replaced Elliot at the end of normal time, making an immediate impact, and this time there was no way back for Germany as England held firm under relentless pressure towards the end, with the Germans hitting the woodwork in added time.

Georgia Love and Lee Elliot offload marital home for $1.58 million after split

The estranged couple, who met on the 2016 season of Channel 10's The Bachelorette, took the property at 63a Wickham Road to auction on June 21. The four-bedroom house in Hampton East had an auction guide of $1.5 million to $1.58 million. It was listed with Hodges Real Estate Sandringham agents Angus Graham and Jack Rayner. The property passed in at auction, but was sold after negotiations for an undisclosed price. Cotality records indicate the property sold in the vicinity of $1.58 million, earning the former couple a tidy profit of around $230,000. Radio host Love, 35, and Elliot, 43, purchased the property in October 2021 for $1.35 million, six months after their wedding in Tasmania. It appears there is no bad blood between the pair who attended the auction together and were spotted celebrating the sale afterwards at a nearby cafe. The sale follows a joint announcement from Love and Elliot posted on social media in February confirming the end of their four-year marriage. "After nine wonderful years together, including four as husband and wife, [we] have made the incredibly difficult decision to lovingly part ways," the post read. The vast master bedroom occupied almost half of the top floor, including a dressing room, a dual vanity ensuite with a freestanding bathtub and a private balcony. Two additional bedrooms were on the top floor, plus a main bathroom with a freestanding bathtub. A fourth bedroom on the ground floor could be utilised as a study. A pergola-shaded alfresco area accessed via a wall of bi-fold doors from the living room was designed for entertaining. The alfresco zone included a plumbed outdoor kitchen equipped with Siemens appliances, a drinks fridge, a sink and a barbecue. Other property features included solid Tasmanian Oak floors, wool carpets, heated towel rails, reverse-cycle air-conditioning and double-glazed windows.

Elliot faces off against crime boss Sean Wallace (Joe Cole) in the series and Dìrísù said he's often taken aback by the reactions to his character after a turn of events that saw him almost hang his rival, but then leave him to police. 'What surprised me is that anyone could be on Sean Wallace's side,' he said. 'I've got so much empathy for Elliot that in that duality between them — the 'Batman versus Joker' or Elliot versus Sean [dynamic] — it never made sense to me that someone could be like: 'How could you do this to Sean?'' This week it's Monte-Carlo, while last month Dìrísù was a few miles along the coast at the Cannes Film Festival with Akinola Davies Jr.'s My Father's Shadow, in which he stars. Dìrísù wants to flex different muscles with his work, he told Deadline when asked about the range of films and TV he has worked on. The first season of Gangs of London aired in 2020 and Dìrísù wanted to avoid being pigeon-holed in the wake of its success. 'It did seem that everybody in the world just wanted me to do more action work,' he said. 'I really love being able to come back to Gangs… but I didn't want it to define what the rest of my career looked like. So, I was very intentional about choosing other projects such as Mr. Malcolm's List, for example, and His House, in different genres. I wanted to be regarded as being a very well-rounded actor.'
