Three fighting for life after swarm of bees attack in south of France
Dozens of people were seriously stung as a swarm of bees struck passers-by in southern France.
Three people are critical after the attack outside the Hôtel de Bordeaux in Aurillac, southern France on Sunday morning.
Paramedics quickly arrived at the scene to treat the victims as police set up a tight security perimiter to keep tourists back.
A spokesman said: 'The bee flights have stopped. The situation is under control.'
The provisional toll is 24 people who have been stung, including 3 in critical condition who were evacuated to the Henri Mondor hospital in Aurillac.
Elodie Mareau, sub-prefect and deputy general secretary, visited the site alongside Pierre Mathonier, the mayor of Aurillac who commended the effective coordination of security and emergency services, both in securing the scene and in caring for the victims.
