Cardinal Newman student becomes world and British champion
TEENAGE Muay Thai fighter Emil Majstrak is celebrating winning two prestigious belts.
The 14-year-old Cardinal Newman High School student has recently been crowned world and British champion.
He came out on top of the World Fighters Corporation's open world championships in Baja, Hungary.

Majstrak is passionate about the sport and works hard at it, thanks in no small part to the support he receives from the coaches and members of the Psycho Monkeys Muay Thai club in Orchard Street.
As well as being his coaches, Przemysław Augustyn and Karolina Chwalisz have constantly motivated him to develop and guided him on his way to the top.
'This is just the beginning of my journey,' said Majstrak.
'I thank everyone who believes in me. Without my club and coaches, this success would not have been possible.'
Although born in Warrington, he proudly representing Poland – the country of his parents' birth – in the WFC tournament.

Since first starting to fight around two years ago, Majstrak has successfully competed in inter-club events but now he has gone up to a whole new level.
He first turned to Muay Thai when he wanted to learn more about self defence and how to fight more professionally in a safe way.
