Bruce Willis' Daughter Tallulah Shares Sweet Photos of Actor Enjoying ‘Sunday Funday' at Home With Family Amid Dementia Battle

Hollywood legend Bruce Willis has been pictured spending time with his family members while enjoying a 'Sunday funday' at the home of his daughter Tallulah's grandmother this weekend—amid his ongoing battle with aphasia and frontotemporal dementia. Tallulah, 31, took to Instagram on June 22 to share a heartwarming update with her father's fans, revealing candid snaps of the 'Die Hard' star relaxing with his loved ones, including her fiancé, Justin Acee. In one particularly poignant snap, Tallulah could be seen embracing the 70-year-old actor, while another image featured her sitting cross-legged on the floor while holding her father's hand and laughing at something he was saying. The final photo shared in the carousel of images saw Bruce posing happily alongside Acee, with shelves in the background showing a collection of family photos from over the years. Tallulah—who is the youngest daughter of Bruce and his ex-wife, —captioned the image, 'Sunday funday at Grams! Grateful.' Although it's not clear which 'Grams' Tallulah was referring to in her post, both her maternal and her paternal grandmothers have passed away, suggesting that they may have been visiting Acee's mother, or another close family member. Bruce and Moore wed in 1987 and separated in 2000. The former couple also share children Scout, 33, and Rumer, 36. Bruce also shares daughters Mabel, 13, and Evelyn, 11, with his wife, Emma Heming Willis, 43, whom he married in 2009. In March 2022, the Willis family announced the heartbreaking news of Bruce's aphasia diagnosis, which is a disorder that affects a person's ability to communicate—prompting him to retire from acting. His final movie, 'Assassin,' was released in 2023, the same year that the family revealed that Bruce had also been diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia. The condition, which is incurable, is categorized as a 'progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects the frontal and temporal lobes of the brain, impacting personality, behavior, language, and movement,' according to the Mayo Clinic. In the years since, Bruce has rarely been seen in public, instead spending much of his time at home with his family, including his wife, Emma, his children, and his ex, Moore, who is said to have offered rock-solid support to the actor in the wake of his diagnosis. Although Moore and Bruce called it quits nearly three decades ago, they have stayed close over the years, regularly spending time together with their wider families. Bruce and Moore once even resided close to each other, with the actor snapping up several Idaho properties after his ex. Moore resides in a six-bedroom, eight-bathroom home, which sits on a 10.5-acre plot of land. It's where she spent much of the COVID-19 pandemic, surrounded by her loved ones—and it continues to be the place where she and her family gather for holidays and special occasions. Moore purchased the property in 2000 following her split from Bruce. Moore has previously shared rare glimpses of her comfort property, revealing on her Instagram that the home boasts a country aesthetic and has wood panels. Bruce followed in his ex-wife's footsteps many years ago when he purchased multiple Idaho properties, including a ranch in Hailey and cabins in Ketchum. In 2012, he sold the cabins for $3.9 million and let go of his ranch for $5.5 million in 2018. Now, he lives in a $9.8 million Los Angeles mansion with Emma and their two daughters. The home features a private gym and an open floor plan. Gwyneth Paltrow Shares Cheeky Topless Cooking Video as She Whips Up Breakfast Inside $4.9 Million Montecito Mansion J.J. Bruce Willis' wife Emma celebrates birthday with his ex Demi Moore and their family amid actor's dementia battle

Bruce Willis ' wife Emma Heming rung in her 47th birthday during a lowkey celebration with her blended family this week. The entrepreneur - who tied the knot with the Die Hard actor in 2009 - jumped to Instagram on Thursday to share moments from the special day while joined by her two children, as well as Demi Moore and Rumer Willis. Heming shares Mabel, 13, and Evelyn, 11, with Willis - who was diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia (FTD) back in 2023. Moore was previously married to Bruce from 1987 until their divorce was finalized in 2000. The former couple are parents to Rumer, 36, Scout, 33, and Tallulah, 31. In one image uploaded to Emma's latest carousel of snaps, she flashed a cheerful smile during a birthday dinner. She was surrounded by her two daughters, as well as the Golden Globe winner. Rumer's daughter Louetta also joined in on the lighthearted festivities - although Bruce as well as Scout and Tallulah were notably absent from the gathering. Another picture was taken as Emma - who officially turned one year older on June 18 - blew out a candle on top of a sugary slice of cake as the group spent time outside at a restaurant. A short clip included in the post showed Louetta, two - whom Rumer shares with ex Derek Richard Thomas - sweetly wishing Heming happy birthday. Lastly, the mom-of-two shared another reel as both she and her daughters enjoyed a bike ride outside. In the caption, she penned to her nearly 1 million followers: 'Over the past few weeks, I've been wrapped in so much love for my birthday. 'From Bruce, our girl's, my mom, my family, and dear friends. I feel their love and support holding me up in ways words can't always capture.' Emma concluded with, 'Thank you to everyone who sent birthday wishes. I truly felt your continued kindness and I'm grateful. I had a beautiful day.' Tallulah jumped to the comment section and wrote to Heming, 'You are so loved.' In 2022, Bruce 'stepped away' from acting following his aphasia diagnosis and the following year, it was revealed that he has frontotemporal dementia. Tallulah jumped to the comment section and wrote to Heming, 'You are so loved' The blended family has come together to support Willis and each other amid his ongoing battle with the illness. In March, they celebrated the retired actor's 70th birthday - and shared memorable pictures onto social media. During an interview with Town & Country Magazine last year, Emma opened up about how she receives support from Demi as well as the actress' three daughters. 'The family respects the way I'm looking after him; they really support me. If I need to vent, if I need to cry, if I need to rage - because all of that can happen and it's okay to have those feelings - they are always there to listen.' Heming added, 'I'm so thankful that we are this blended family. They're very supportive, very loving, and very helpful, and a lot of people don't have that.' She also expressed at the time that she doesn't 'shield' her daughters from their dad's diagnosis. Heming explained, 'This disease is misdiagnosed, it's missed, it's misunderstood. So finally getting to a diagnosis was key so that I could learn what frontotemporal dementia is and I could educate our children.' Emma added, 'I've never tried to sugarcoat anything for them. They've grown up with Bruce declining over the years. I'm not trying to shield them from it.' 'What I learned from our therapist was that if children ask questions, they're ready to know the answer. If we could see that Bruce was struggling, I would address it with the kids so they could understand, but this disease is chronic, progressive and terminal.' Heming told the outlet that their children don't tend 'to speak about the terminal side of this with them, nor have they asked.' However, she expressed that Mabel and Evelyn 'know that Daddy's not going to get better.' Emma said that she was not going to let 'FTD to take our whole family down. Bruce wouldn't want that,' while adding that she hopes to help the 'next family out there.' Over the past weekend, she paid a heartwarming tribute to her husband in celebration of Father's Day. She uploaded a throwback photo of daughter Mabel hugging her dad and wrote, 'Happy Father's Day to all the dads living with disability or disease, showing up in the ways they can and to the children who show up for them. 'What Bruce teaches our girls goes far beyond words. Resilience, unconditional love, and the quiet strength in simply being present. This photo says so much. Love deepens. It adapts. It stays, even when everything else changes.' However, she also candidly added that 'these symbolic days stir up a lot' and admitted that she was 'profoundly sad today.' 'I wish, with every cell in my body, that things could be different for him and lighter for our family.' Emma continued, 'As they say in our FTD community, "It is what it is." And while that might sound dismissive, to me, it's not. It grounds me. It helps me return to the acceptance of what is and not fight this every step of the way like I used to. 'Today, let's celebrate the bada** dads, those who are here, and those we carry with us Onward.' Rumer also shared a post in tribute of her dad Bruce and got candid about how she 'feels a deep ache.' She shared photos of the actor from over the years, including a black and white image as she embraced Willis. 'Today is hard, I feel a deep ache in my chest to talk to you and tell you everything I'm doing and what's going on in my life. To hug you and ask you about life and your stories and struggles and successes.' The actress added, 'I wish I asked you more questions while you could still tell me about it all. 'But I know you wouldn't want me to be sad today so I'll try to just be grateful reminding myself how lucky I am that you're my dad and that you're still with me and I can still hold you and hug you and kiss your cheek and rub your head I can tell you stories.' Rumer continued, 'I can watch the way your eyes light up when you see Louetta I will be grateful for every moment I have with you. I love you so much dad happy Father's Day. 'Sending love to all those who are in the boat with me or have lost their fathers, to the single moms who are the dads too, to my future baby daddy…' Emma is also preparing to release a book titled The Unexpected Journey - which will hit shelves later this year on September 9th.

Bruce Willis' wife Emma Heming pens emotional Father's Day post 'to all the dads living with disability'

Bruce Willis ' wife Emma Heming shared an emotional Father's Day post amid his heartbreaking battle with frontotemporal dementia (FTD) and aphasia On Sunday morning, the 46-year-old actress, who shares daughters Mabel, 12, and Evelyn, 10, with legendary action star, 70, paid tribute to her longtime spouse on Instagram. 'Happy Father's Day to all the dads living with disability or disease, showing up in the ways they can and to the children who show up for them,' she captioned a sweet snap of Willis sharing a sweet hug with one of their little girls on the couch. Heming continued: 'What Bruce teaches our girls goes far beyond words. Resilience, unconditional love, and the quiet strength in simply being present. This photo says so much. Love deepens. It adapts. It stays, even when everything else changes.' Still, the mother-of-two admitted that 'these symbolic days stir up a lot' of emotion for her. 'I'm profoundly sad today. I wish, with every cell in my body, that things could be different for him and lighter for our family,' Heming explained. 'As they say in our FTD community, 'It is what it is.' And while that might sound dismissive, to me, it's not. It grounds me. It helps me return to the acceptance of what is and not fight this every step of the way like I used to.' Willis, who passionately advocates for patients and caretakers dealing with incurable diseases, concluded her caption by writing: 'Today, let's celebrate the bada** dads, those who are here, and those we carry with us. Onward.' On her Instagram Story, Heming shared throwback photos of her husband taking their kids to the park and the Natural History Museum. 'I miss and mourn what was,' she wrote. 'I want it all back.' Last month, Heming was honored by Maria Shriver's Women's Alzheimer's Movement (WAM) at Cleveland Clinic. She received the organization's Caregiving Award for her 'outstanding work in advocating for unpaid family caregivers.' While accepting the honor she reflected on 'the day Bruce got his diagnosis' and how they 'left the doctor's office with a pamphlet and a hollow goodbye.' 'No plan, no guidance, no hope, just shock,' she said. 'The future we imagined simply vanished, and I was left trying to hold my family together, raise our two young daughters, and care for the man I love while navigating a disease I barely understood,' Heming shared. Heming continued: 'I needed someone to look me in the eye and say, "This feels impossible right now, but you will find your footing. You will survive this and you will grow because of it."' 'There's no roadmap or guide to becoming a caregiver,' Heming added. 'We desperately need more education and support resources for those in this 24/7/365 role.' Since publicly announcing her husband's diagnosis in February 2023, Heming has worked tirelessly to share information with others navigating a similar journey. In addition to Mabel and Evelyn, Willis shares three daughters — Rumer, 36, Scout, 33, and Tallulah, 31 — with his ex-wife Demi Moore. Rumer sweetly shared her stepmother's post on her Instagram Story to show her support. In May, Rumer revealed that her daughter, Louetta, who she shares with ex-boyfriend Derek Richard Thomas, is 'obsessed' with her grandfather. 'Even with my dad, given the challenges that he's dealing with, whenever we go over there to visit, his face just lights up and he gets so excited and is so sweet with her,' she told People of her father. 'My family is so incredible with her. I feel so lucky, and she's so lucky. I mean, they are obsessed with her.' Rumer also noted that Louetta is equally close to her grandmother. 'They love each other. I mean, you should see her face light up when they're on FaceTime when we're away,' Rumer gushed of Moore. 'She just gets so excited and it's sweet, and my mom is so incredible with babies. She always has been, and so it's such a delight to see them together,' she raved. The Willis family has remained extremely tight knit despite Demi and Bruce's divorce in 2000 after 13 years of marriage. They celebrate holidays together, along with Hemming, and they have rallied around the Glass actor amid his tragic health battle. Bruce has stepped away from public life after his diagnosis of frontotemporal aphasia in 2022. The condition progressed and the family announced he was suffering from frontotemporal dementia in 2023.

Bruce Willis' wife reveals how he secretly continued acting amid dementia battle

Bruce Willis ' wife Emma Heming is opening up for the first time about how the action legend continued working on film sets even as his health quietly declined behind the scenes. In her upcoming book The Unexpected Journey, out September 9, 2025, Heming shares intimate details about the extraordinary lengths taken to help Bruce remain in front of the camera as symptoms of frontotemporal dementia (FTD) began to take hold. Emma, 46, reveals directors reduced his dialogue, and a close friend was brought in to discreetly feed him lines through an earpiece during filming, per The Daily Beast. These strategies allowed the Die Hard star, now 70, to complete roles in movies like Assassin (2023) and the Detective Knight trilogy (2022–2023) without drawing public attention to his condition. Willis' diagnosis was first revealed in 2022 as aphasia, a language disorder, but by February 2023, his family confirmed it had progressed into frontotemporal dementia (FTD)—a degenerative brain disease that impacts speech, behavior, and cognitive function. Since then, Bruce has stepped out of the spotlight, with rare updates from his wife and daughters. Emma and Bruce have been married since 2009 and share two daughters: Mabel, 12, and Evelyn, 10. He also has three adult daughters with ex-wife Demi Moore — Rumer, 36, Scout, 32, and Tallulah, 30. Earlier this spring, Rumer told Extra that her father is 'doing great,' adding, 'He's really good.' Emma revealed on Instagram that she wrote the book to support others navigating a similar diagnosis, offering guidance to both patients and their loved ones. 'I really wrote the book that I wish someone had handed me the day we got our diagnosis with no hope, no direction … not much. Today life looks different for me and our family because I was able to put support into place,' she said. She added, 'This isn't a memoir, it's a self-help guide for caregivers, written to hold space for our heartbreak and our healing.' It comes after a 2022 report by the Los Angeles Times detailed the cognitive decline Willis displayed on movie sets before his aphasia battle forced him to retire. In the three years leading up to his retirement, Willis appeared in 22 low-budget action films often referred to as 'geezer teasers.' But behind the scenes, crew members began noticing troubling signs. The action icon, once known for his commanding presence, had become increasingly confused on set, frequently requiring an earpiece to have his lines fed to him and sometimes struggling to remember why he was there. 'It was clear that he was not the Bruce I remembered,' said White Elephant director Jesse V. Johnson, who had known Willis since his stuntman days, told the LA Times. During filming, Willis asked crew members, 'I know why you're here, and I know why you're here, but why am I here?' Johnson was told to complete Willis' scenes by lunch to avoid taxing him. Other troubling moments were reported across multiple productions. On the set of Hard Kill, at least two crew members said Willis misfired a gun loaded with blanks, missing his cue and putting castmates at risk. Actress Lala Kent recalled one misfire during a scene where he was supposed to deliver a line before pulling the trigger. 'The first time, it was like, 'No big deal, let's reset,'' she said. But when it happened again, she asked the director to remind him of the timing. Other crew members confirmed the incident and noted they were always cautious to keep people out of the line of fire when Willis handled weapons. Despite this, some close collaborators denied the gun misfires ever occurred. Producer Randall Emmett and the film's armorer both disputed the reports. Still, concern among crews grew. The LA Times reported that nearly two dozen people who worked with Willis raised red flags about his health. Willis' team took significant steps to accommodate his condition. His roles were shortened, his shooting days capped at two, and he often worked only four hours a day. In a June 2020 email, Out of Death director Mike Burns requested a last-minute rewrite: 'We need to knock down Bruce's page count by about five pages… and abbreviate his dialogue so that there are no monologues.' Willis' struggles were visible to many. On the set of American Siege in 2020, he was spotted wearing an earpiece—two years before his family publicly revealed his diagnosis of aphasia, a language disorder that later progressed into FTD. Paradise City, filmed in Maui, was one of his final projects. Director Chuck Russell praised his effort, saying he 'brought his A-game,' but others on previous sets, like White Elephant's production supervisor Terri Martin, painted a more somber picture: 'He just looked so lost… He always tried his best.' Mike Burns, who worked with Willis again on Wrong Place, was told by one associate that Bruce was 'a whole different person' and in better shape than the previous year. Still, the actor increasingly relied on stunt doubles for action sequences and needed extensive off-camera support. Before his diagnosis, Willis had racked up more than 70 film credits since beginning his career in the 1970s. He rose to fame on Moonlighting and became an international star as John McClane in Die Hard. Beyond Die Hard, Willis left his mark with roles in Pulp Fiction, The Sixth Sense, Unbreakable, 12 Monkeys, and more—cementing himself as one of Hollywood's most bankable leading men. He is now retired from acting, with his family periodically updating fans on Willis amid his dementia battle.
