ITV Coronation Street issues ‘be vigilant' warning to soap fans using social med

Coronation Street has issued warnings to fans in a social media statement. It has become known to people behind the scenes at the soap that fans are falling victim to another type of scam. Back at the start of this year, both Corrie and Emmerdale accounts shared on social media platform X that scammers were pretending to be stars from the shows. The statement said: 'Please be aware that actors from both Coronation Street and Emmerdale are currently being impersonated by scammers across all social media platforms. 'No cast member will ever directly request money for messages, meetings or any kind of personal interaction on social media. 'We are aware these sophisticated impersonations can include deep-fake footage (where it appears to be the actor talking but isn't) and personal messages which seem to be realistic and in character. We urge everybody to be vigilant. Please report any concerns to the relevant platform.' They concluded: 'The legitimate way of meeting with real members of the cast is via official 'meet and greet' events run by ITV Star Tours.' This time, audience members are being targeted by con artists pretending to be from the Coronation Street casting department – claiming to offer them a part in their favourite soap. Metro understands that fans of Emmerdale have been approached too. To warn people about the cruel trick, the Corrie X account once again shared a message online, this time saying: 'We are aware that there are some accounts impersonating the Casting department at Coronation Street on social media platforms. 'Our Casting team only uses official methods of communication, this does not involve direct messages on Twitter or any other social media. 'Please be careful when communicating online and report any concerns to the relevant platform.' This comes after Emmerdale favourite Lisa Riley told her fans not to believe AI bots pretending to be her online. The actress, 48, is best known for her role as Mandy Dingle, said on Instagram: 'Hello everybody, it's Lisa here. Now, I have to keep reiterating this, please, and please listen.' 'If something is not on my page – and my page is blue-ticked – then it is not real,' she stated, referencing the social media network's notable person verification system. 'It is AI pretending to be me, and there is nothing I can do about it. It's a hoax, it's a scam and it's a lie. 'So please, I'm begging you, don't click on it, don't believe it, don't read it, don't give it any attention. It's not true. More Trending 'I have to keep reiterating this because I am inundated with people saying that I'm attached to things that I'm not. So please, if it's not on my page, it's not real and I have not endorsed anything of that like.' She concluded: 'Listen to what I'm saying, and don't take it as the truth because it's not. From me to you, I'm so sorry that it's going on because it's not real and I have to keep telling you guys this. 'But just don't believe it. It's a hoax and a scam. It's not the truth, thank you for listening.' View More » This article was originally published on 17th June 2025. Just weeks ago it was confirmed to the Dingles that Cain Dingle's son Nate Robinson was dead. ‌ The family found out he'd been murdered and dumped in a lake, where his body was for months before being uncovered. In a cruel twist the family believed he'd cut them all off, with them speaking badly of him for abandoning his daughter Frankie. The cast recently filmed Nate's funeral, with devastating scenes on the way. Lisa spilled: "The funeral is so emotional. It was amazing. There are two performance that when you sit and watch them, and we know the script, we know what is happening, but then you see your colleagues perform... I got goosebumps. "We love that as the Dingles, when someone does a good storyline you go, 'you knocked that out of the park tonight'. It's so nice and you see that, the Dingles will be coming together." Moira Dingle actress Natalie teased "heavy" scenes as the plot continues. She shared of the funeral and what's ahead: "There's emotional scenes. There's some really heavy scenes ahead too. ‌ "There's scenes of confusion, scenes of anger, you get a lot of mixed emotions. But that's Emmerdale isn't it. That's soaps for you." Amy Walsh recently told us that her character Tracy, Nate's wife, will soon unite with Cain to find out who killed him. Amy told us: "Tracy and Cain do a little list together of who it could it be. We have ruled out some people we know." Asked about John, Amy teased: "That was left on a bit of a cliffhanger actually. He's the next name on the list..." Before we get to see the dynamic duo figuring things out, there's some "feisty" and "nasty" moments. Amy warned: "Tracy is feisty. The stuff she gets away with doing to Cain, I was nervous on set! I can't believe I'm doing this to Cain Dingle! "But it's all brilliant, there's such brilliant scenes. It gets really nasty between us and then there's a really nice arc in the story eventually, where things will become a bit clearer. I can't say too much but there is a lot to look out for." Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7:30pm on ITV1 and ITVX, with an hour-long episode on Thursdays. * Follow Mirror Celebs and TV on TikTok, Snapchat, Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, YouTube and Threads.

Much-loved Corrie couple get back together in emotional turn of events

Ronnie Bailey (Vinta Morgan) was a man on a mission in tonight's Coronation Street. The character discovered a few days ago that ex-partner Debbie Webster (Sue Devaney) has dementia. The couple split shortly after Debbie learnt about her diagnosis, as she convinced herself that Ronnie would be better off with someone else. With a plan formed in his head, Ronnie defiantly made his way to Debbie's hotel with only one goal – get back with her. Ronnie pointed out that Debbie has so many people around her that love and want to support her, and that pushing them away wouldn't work. Debbie broke down to Ronnie at this point, telling him that she's terrified about the future. Holding her hands, Ronnie reassured Debbie and said that he will be there for her every step of the way and when they reach points that seem harder than others, he'll feel worried like Debbie, because he doesn't want her feeling completely on her own. Debbie got back with Ronnie after declaring her love for him. The cobbles resident has struggled to accept support from people in the wake of her health news, so letting Ronnie back in was a huge step. The couple decided to celebrate that evening with drinks in the Bistro. They sat alongside Kevin (Michael Le Vell), Abi (Sally Carman) and Carl (Johnathan Howard), who all reminded Debbie that they were here for her as well. More Trending Though fans have been worried that Debbie would be killed off in the coming months, star Sue Devaney has set minds at rest by confirming that this isn't the case at all. Emmerdale star teases villain's return as he confirms new Lewis twists

Emmerdale newcomer Bradley Riches, who plays Lewis Barton on the ITV soap, has teased new twists ahead for the brother of Ross Barton, while calling for the comeback of a villain One Emmerdale newcomer is hoping one of the show's biggest villains will make an epic return to the ITV soap, while teasing new twists ahead. Bradley Riches spoke exclusively to The Mirror about what lies ahead for his character Lewis Barton. It seems fans will be seeing a lot more of Ross Barton's secret brother, with it teased he'll be very present up on Moira DIngle's farm. ‌ Amid Lewis falling out with Ross over their secret weed growing schemes and the truth about his mother Emma Barton's death, Bradley has hinted the drama will die down a little where Moira is concerned. Moira feared the worst when Lewis worked out she'd killed Emma. ‌ But Lewis will move on it seems, forming a bond with Ross' aunt and staying close to Ross despite some hiccups along the way thanks to Mackenzie Boyd, and new villain Ray. But Bradley is hoping we might see another big villain head back to the show, as it would be a rather big twist for his ongoing plot. Emmerdale stars warn 'lots of danger' ahead as 'scary' new villain Ray debuts Bradley told us that Lewis was going to let things slide with Moira, forgiving her for Emma's death. Moira actress Natalie J Robb then confessed: "She will mother him," as Bradley told us: "He can't stay angry at these faces," referring to Ross and Moira. He added: "I think they are both quite similar and know what they want. They will see eye to eye soon. But I say bring back Emma... maybe she never fell off that bridge." Ross actor Mike Parr added: "It is a shame she can't come back but you never know actually. It is a soap after all. Maybe she floated, she got back on her broom and flew off." It seems the bond between Lewis and Ross will grow though, with Mike telling us: "I think it would be really nice because we have such a nice offscreen relationship. It's fun and it will be nice if that comes through onscreen too. ‌ "It's hard to make the comedy fun and push happy storylines that last longer than two episodes amid all the illness and death. It would be nice to make that work and pump some happiness into the show." Mike then questioned: "But do they become sworn enemies or can they grow closer? We will just have to wait and see but there's more stuff ahead." Bradley also teased more comedy ahead, adding: "He's got a couple of one liners coming up which is exciting. And he's introduced to new people in the village as well." As we asked about him getting a job within the village, both Bradley and Natalie let slip Lewis would be very much staying on the farm, just like the rest of the Bartons. Natalie confessed: "Maybe somewhere else..." as Bradley added: "He will get a job, he's a determined guy. He wants to get stuff done." Natalie added: "He will be getting a job," before pulling a face that told us all we needed to know.
