2025 NFL Odds: Can Allen, Jackson Or Mahomes Win MVP, Super Bowl?
Only 11 players in NFL history have won both AP MVP and the Super Bowl in the same season. The list includes Bart Starr, Terry Bradshaw, Mark Moseley, Lawrence Taylor, Joe Montana, Emmitt Smith, Steve Young, Brett Favre, Terrell Davis, Kurt Warner and most recently, Patrick Mahomes. While Buffalo quarterback Josh Allen recently secured the MVP honor, he did not win the Super Bowl, after his Bills lost in the AFC title game last season. Allen received 27 first-place votes to Lamar Jackson's 23. Can the feat be accomplished for a 12th time this upcoming season? Here are the early odds for winning next year's MVP and the Super Bowl as of July 8 at DraftKings Sportsbook. 2025-26 NFL MVP Award and Super Bowl winner odds Josh Allen MVP, Bills Super Bowl: +2000 (bet $10 to win $210 total) Lamar Jackson MVP, Ravens Super Bowl: +2000 (bet $10 to win $210 total) Patrick Mahomes MVP, Chiefs Super Bowl: +3500 (bet $10 to win $360 total) Jalen Hurts MVP, Eagles Super Bowl: +6000 (bet $10 to win $610 total) Jayden Daniels MVP, Commanders Super Bowl: +6000 (bet $10 to win $610 total) Joe Burrow MVP, Bengals Super Bowl: +6000 (bet $10 to win $610 total) Jared Goff MVP, Lions Super Bowl: +15000 (bet $10 to win $1,510 total) Justin Herbert MVP, Chargers Super Bowl: +18000 (bet $10 to win $1,810 total) Saquon Barkley MVP, Eagles Super Bowl: +20000 (bet $10 to win $2,010 total) Derrick Henry MVP, Ravens Super Bowl: +20000 (bet $10 to win $2,010 total) Mahomes made history in the 2022 season by becoming the first player this century to win MVP and a Super Bowl in the same year. That season, Mahomes also became the 10th player in NFL history to repeat as MVP and the seventh player to win regular-season MVP, Super Bowl MVP and the Super Bowl in the same season. Currently, with +3500 odds, Mahomes and the Chiefs are second on the oddsboard. Following K.C. are Jalen Hurts and the Eagles at +6000 odds, after their Super Bowl win over the Chiefs just last season. Hurts was named Super Bowl MVP at the conclusion of the season. The first two non-quarterbacks to crack the oddsboard are Saquon Barkley (+20000) and Derrick Henry (+20000). Emmitt Smith is the only running back to have won both the MVP award and the Super Bowl. He achieved this in 1993 when he helped lead the Dallas Cowboys to victory in Super Bowl XXVIII. Want great stories delivered right to your inbox? Michael Irvin Admits To Changing Opinion of Cowboys' Brian Schottenheimer
Michael Irvin Admits To Changing Opinion of Cowboys' Brian Schottenheimer originally appeared on Athlon Sports. FRISCO - It's no secret that Dallas Cowboys' legend Michael Irvin wasn't a big fan of former head coach Mike McCarthy. And he wasn't exactly thrilled at the promotion of Brian Schottenheimer, either. Advertisement But as the offseason has gone along, his tune has drastically changed about Schottenheimer. The Hall-of-Fame receiver has been giddy recently, gloating about his franchise's new-found "unity" and predicting the Cowboys will "surprise everybody" this season. The reason for Irvin's optimism? Well, primarily, he's a happy dude. But also: Scchottenheimer. 'I love what coach Schottenheimer is trying to do," Irvin said on his YouTube channel. "I came down hard about this on this decision (to hire him), but I must admit there are some things that are winning me over. Like I told you about him, understanding how important it is to have the right culture and to set the right tone.' Advertisement For an example, Irvin went a minicamp practice earlier this month wearing a lanyard around his neck that reap, "VIP: Legends Community." It was former Irvin teammate and co-Ring of Honor member Emmitt Smith last season who bemoaned the Cowboys' lack of pride on and off the field. 'Coach Schottenheimer put all the legends that were there on the big board, and then called out their names," Irvin said. "He said to the players, 'This is what we're a part of. This is what they built. This very building that we're in, they built'. "He said, 'I want you guys to spend as much time as you can with them, to get whatever you can from them, so we can hold up and honor and do what they've done.' And I was like … okay, that's a good start, because he's connecting.' Advertisement It may not translate into a single victory on the field, but at least Schottenheimer is winning over fans and former critics. Emmitt Smith admits Eagles fans are making Cowboys' Super Bowl drought feel worse: 'I'm sick of it'
Emmitt Smith has never had what you would call a friendly relationship with Philadelphia Eagles fans, but his team's division rival winning two Super Bowls apparently hasn't helped. The Dallas Cowboys legend had some pointed complaints on Tuesday when asked about his team's Super Bowl drought by a Dallas radio station: "I'm sick of it. I'm sick of it for two reasons. One, we have allowed others to come and nitpick at the star and make fun of the star and that's what happens when you give other people, or other organizations — now all of a sudden over the last 20 years they win two Super Bowls and think they're the best thing on the doggone planet, and everywhere I go I hear, 'Go Birds.' I'm sick of hearing, 'Go Birds.' I'm always asking where are you going? You still got a long way to go to get to us. "That part bugs me. It bugs me because in my heart I truly believe our organization should be contending for an NFC championship and even a Super Bowl at least once or twice every decade because every team recycles every decade. So for us not to be there over the last 30 years is a crying shame." In case you need reminding, the Cowboys have not won a Super Bowl since their title after the 1995-96 season. What's more, they have not reached an NFC championship game in that span of time, the longest such drought in the conference, despite a long-running status as the most valuable team in sports. Meanwhile, the Eagles and New York Giants have each won two Super Bowls. The other NFC East team, the Washington Commanders, has an even longer Super Bowl drought, but they can at least say they're looking much better for the long term than the Cowboys these days. And that they played in the NFC championship game last year.
