Andy Cohen officially says goodbye to NYC penthouse of 20 years

From Bravo to Broadway, Andy Cohen is officially saying goodbye to his longtime home. Emmy-winning playwright and screenwriter Danny Strong and his partner, actor and producer Caitlin Mehner, have officially closed on Cohen's longtime West Village penthouse duplex for its full $12 million asking price, The Post has learned. The deal, which was finalized on June 26, caps a swift transaction that entered contract just over a month earlier. 11 Emmy-winning playwright and screenwriter Danny Strong and his partner, actor/producer Caitlin Mehner, have officially closed on Andy Cohen's penthouse duplex at 2 Horatio Street for its $12 million asking price. Getty Images for Prime Video The 3,500-square-foot co-op, located at 2 Horatio Street, was assembled over two decades by Cohen, the Bravo star and producer behind 'Watch What Happens Live' and 'Top Chef.' Designed by architect Gordon Kahn with interiors by Eric Hughes, the home is known for its bold use of color, sweeping views of Manhattan landmarks, and dramatic custom details — including a sculptural walnut, steel and glass staircase connecting its two levels. 11 The 3,500-square-foot West Village co-op, which overlooks Jackson Square Park, entered into contract in May after eight months on the market and initially listed for $14 million. Eytan Stern Weber, Evan Joseph Images Strong, whose musical Chess heads to Broadway this fall, called the duplex 'my dream home,' previously telling The Post, 'We are so excited to be moving there.' He and Mehner, new parents to a 7-month-old daughter, had been looking for more space to accommodate their growing family. 11 Designed by architect Gordon Kahn with interiors by Eric Hughes, the home includes a chef's kitchen, a nanny's room, and a glass-and-steel staircase leading to a home office. Strong is in contract to sell his current residence at 299 West 12th Street — the sam Emery Roth-designed building where Cohen just purchased a new penthouse for $18.21 million, The Post reported. That unit reportedly features over 2,000 square feet of outdoor space, something Cohen had long been seeking. 'Outdoor space was the decision! I always have coveted outdoor space,' Cohen told People. 'There is a dearth of inventory in the West Village with outdoor space, so when I found something that was meaningful enough for me to leave my dream apartment … that's what it took.' 11 The residence occupies 3,500 square feet. Eytan Stern Weber, Evan Joseph Images 11 Strong, who wrote 'Empire,' 'Dopesick,' and two 'Hunger Games' films, is also in contract to sell his unit at 299 W. 12th Street—ironically, the same building where Cohen just bought a new $18.21 million penthouse. Eytan Stern Weber, Evan Joseph Images The sale also marked a professional milestone for real estate broker and former Million Dollar Listing New York star Ryan Serhant, who shared news of the contract on Instagram back in May. 'Congrats @bravoandy,' he wrote, adding, 'Thanks for trusting me and @serhant with your home.' Serhant later told The New York Times, 'It's one of those treasures that you wait your whole career for.' Cohen had initially listed the property for $14 million in September 2024 before cutting the price by $2 million earlier this year. The duplex ultimately found a buyer after about eight months on the market. 11 A living space. Eytan Stern Weber, Evan Joseph Images 11 One of two fireplaces in the home. Eytan Stern Weber, Evan Joseph Images 11 An ensuite bathroom. Eytan Stern Weber, Evan Joseph Images Serhant and Donna Strugatz of Serhant represented the listing, while Jonathan Stein of Douglas Elliman represented Strong. Inside, the home features 4.5 bathrooms, two wood-burning fireplaces, wide-plank oak floors, and 25 windows offering views of Jackson Square Park, the Empire State Building, and the Chrysler Building. The main suite boasts a custom dressing room, a corner bath with a teak soaking tub, and a marble steam shower. Other highlights include a lacquered bar, a gold-tiled powder room, and a chef's kitchen with cobalt blue cabinetry. Strong is best known for scripting Recount, The Butler, Dopesick, and two Hunger Games films.

Jeff Bridges Teases His Mysterious Return as Flynn in TRON

After more than a decade off the Grid, Jeff Bridges is officially returning as Kevin Flynn in Tron: Ares , and while fans watched Flynn seemingly meet his end in Tron: Legacy , Bridges says there's more to the story, and in the digital world of Tron , death isn't exactly final. Speaking with Empire, Bridges admitted he was just as surprised as fans to be called back: 'This is the Grid. The whole digital universe is all up for grabs. It's all possible in that place. It worked out that I still have some sort of consciousness.' It's a cryptic hint, but it lines up with the franchise's bending of physical rules in favor of philosophical ones. If you remember Legacy , Flynn sacrificed himself by merging with his rogue creation CLU in order to destroy him. It looked like a permanent sendoff. But Bridges teases that the door never really closed: 'New shit has come to light.' I just can't help but read his quotes and not have the voice of The Dude in my head! Beyond the logistics of Flynn's return, Bridges also spoke to the deeper evolution of his character. Flynn, once obsessed with achieving digital perfection, is now grappling with the limits of that mindset. 'As human beings, we seek perfection. And sometimes we miss the whole point of the thing — the idea of the journey being the destination.' It'll be interesting to see how that plays into the new story. Tron: Ares was directed by Joachim Rønning ( Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales ), and it centers on a new program named Ares , played by Jared Leto, who crosses over from the Grid into the real world. Bridges' return adds a legacy thread to this fresh narrative, which also stars Greta Lee, Evan Peters, and Gillian Anderson. This will mark Bridges' third time playing Flynn, having originated the role back in 1982. Ares looks like it's set to continue the philosophical throughline that's defined the series, only this time with a bigger, weirder twist. Tron: Ares is set to hit theaters on October 10, 2025.

'Underrated' horror movie hailed by fans finally arrives on Amazon Prime

A 'must see' horror movie has finally arrived on Amazon Prime Video, ready for us all to be terrified again. Nosferatu hit the big screen in 2024, with Bill Skarsgård leading a star-studded cast alongside Nicholas Hoult, Lily-Rose Depp, Willem Dafoe and Aaron Taylor-Johnson. Director Robert Eggers put his own stamp on the Dracula-inspired Gothic tale, following a young woman tortured by a psychic connection to an evil vampire. The film made a huge splash when it was released just a few months ago, and was branded 'chilling', 'hauntingly beautiful' and 'downright evil' by cinemagoers. It raked more than $181million at the global box office, earning four Oscar nominations for best cinematography, best costume design, best production design and best hair and makeup styling. The scare-fest will is now available to stream on Amazon Prime, just in case fans missed it in cinemas, or want another excuse to hide behind their sofa cushions. To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web browser that supports HTML5 video Nosferatu currently commands an impressive critics Rotten Tomatoes score of 84%, compared to an audience ranking of 73%. Jonathan M praised: 'The new Nosferatu was fantastic – beautifully dark atmosphere and amazing performances all around. It stayed true to the spirit of the classic while adding some fresh twists that kept things interesting. 'A couple of scenes felt slightly long, but overall, it's one of the best horror films I've seen lately.' Tyler F said: 'A horror absolute must see. You cannot unsee this movie. It's one of those ones that sticks with you.' 'The best Dracula-related film ever made. Proper Gothic treatment of the film. Eggers has created a masterpiece that will continue to inspire future generations,' Darko J agreed. Ronald M commented: 'A horror movie that focuses more on psychological and atmospheric creepiness than gore and jump scares. A very enjoyable reimagining of the almost-lost classic and a welcome deviation from the usual Dracula story. 'Excellent make-up effects on Count Olaf, and even better sound design that makes the bloodsucking sound so visceral and violent.' Jacob M added: 'This film is underrated. The gradual introduction of Count Orlok. The attention shifted between characters. It's captivating. Darkness at its finest. A masterpiece.' The official synopsis simply reads: 'Robert Eggers' Nosferatu is a gothic tale of obsession between a haunted young woman and the terrifying vampire infatuated with her, causing untold horror in its wake.' However, unpacking his experience on set, Nicholas – who played Thomas Hutter – revealed that the scares weren't just saved for the screen, as he had a terrifying moment on set with his animal co-stars. In a recent interview with Empire magazine, he was questioned on whether he was 'actually freaked out' during filming, and recalled the 'rules' he was given when meeting the Czech Shepherds playing the 'wolves'. 'They were Czech Shepherds, so they weren't wolves but part-wolf. When we met them with the animal handlers, they were like, 'Oh, they're just like dogs,'' he said. 'When we got to set, there was a moment before that scene where I'm running on the spot, trying to get my heart rate up. 'The wolves – it sent them crazy. They'd been told to chase me and then they saw me getting myself fired up, and they were barking, being held back on these leashes. I was like, 'Whoa! Whoooooaaa.' 'And there was one time doing that shot where I was running – they'd be like, 'Okay, three-two-one, action,' and I would go on three, and [the wolves] would be released on one – and there was one time where I slipped, trying to get out of the window. More Trending 'I was like, 'Well, I know these wolves have been released, and I know they're chasing me, but I never asked, like… 'What are they trained to do if they do get to me? What's the end goal here, what if I don't make it out the window??'' 'I remember after that take, [David] being like, 'You pulled a weird face, we can't use that.' That was real! That was a moment of real panic!' This article was first published on June 20. Nosferatu is available to stream on Amazon Prime Video now. Got a story? Robert Downey Jr. Passes Iron Man Torch To Ironheart's Dominque Thorne In Touching Video

The torch has been officially passed. During a recent Good Morning America interview, Ironheart stars Dominique Thorne and Anthony Ramos were surprised with a video message from Robert Downey Jr. In the clip, the OG Iron Man shares his support and jokes about a similarity between Ramos's Parker Robbins character and Downey Jr.'s own much-anticipated Doctor Doom portrayal. During the recorded message, which we all hope was filmed on the set of Avengers: Doomsday, the MCU's anchor being professes his love and support for Thorne and Ramos's work in Ironheart, dotingly remarking, 'Ms. Thorne, I couldn't be happier than seeing you bring Riri Williams to life.' Never one to pass up an opportunity to poke fun at the obvious, he then follows up his praise by joking that he hopes the green hood that Ramos's character dons in the Ironheart trailer isn't a sign that the actor will replace him as Doctor Doom. The real passing of the torch comes in the heartfelt final moments of the message, when the 60-year-old actor uses his fingers to make a heart resembling the Arc Reactor that keeps Tony Stark alive, as he proclaims, 'Iron Man loves Ironheart.' What makes the gesture feel that much more genuine is Thorne's revelation that Downey Jr. called her shortly after she finished filming Ironheart in Chicago to share his support. In a May interview with Empire, the longtime Iron Man fan shared exactly what he told her during that phone call. 'He told me how excited he was and that he's rooting for it, too. I literally got two thumbs up. It's really reassuring to know you're not embarrassing Iron Man.' This isn't the first time Downey Jr. has shared his public support of Ironheart. During a gala at the Gene Siskel Film Center in June 2019, 18 months before Marvel announced the Ironheart series, the first superhero of the Marvel Cinematic Universe definitively stated he thought Ironheart belonged in the MCU. He got his wish when Riri Williams made her MCU debut in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, even though she wasn't specifically referred to as Ironheart. Downey Jr.'s Good Morning America appearance isn't the holographic video tutorial that we hope Stark will leave Riri in Ironheart. Still, it's good for the people who built the MCU to show support for the next generation, especially when you know there are going to be trolls ready to curse Ironheart in honor of Iron Man's name. Retail sector shows strength amid global volatility, but consumption trends might slow: Analysis

Despite significant macroeconomic and global geopolitical volatility, the Canada and U.S. retail sectors have held up surprisingly well in recent stock and financial performance, according to new industry analysis. A review of retail spending shows that restaurant, grocery and apparel spending in Canada are, respectively, solid, resilient and strong, says National Bank of Canada analyst Visha Shreedhar, in a report. In the U.S., restaurant spending is mixed but has improved since February, while apparel spending is strong — albeit the U.S. market has choppier spending trends. Signs of resiliency were mostly seen in year-to-date earnings results that have largely been described as better than expected, he adds. 'A reasonable question to consider is whether the current uncertainty is transient (and therefore constructive spending trends will continue), or if the economic impact due to recent heightened uncertainty has not fully manifested,' Shreedhar said. Last week, in grocery retailer Empire's ( Q4 conference call with analysts, the company reported net earnings of $173 million compared to $149 million last year. Empire president and CEO Michael Medline says that 'basket size continues to improve,' while noting that he sees a disconnect between reported consumer sentiment and customer spending. Empire operates Safeway, Sobeys, FreshCo, Farm Boy and Longo's, among others. In Canadian Tire's ( first-quarter earnings call in May, the company noted growing consumer confidence, highlighting that positive discretionary spending trends were encouraging, especially since they're observed across all housing income levels, including higher-debt households that had previously held back. Another major retailer, Walmart (WMT), in its May outlook, was optimistic that it will meet full-year guidance for both sales and operating income. However, the company warned that prolonged elevated tariffs could pose a downside risk. Despite resilience in the retail sector, Shreedhar cautions that consumption trends may slow in the coming months. While Canadian retailers offer a mixed outlook, commentary from U.S. dollar stores points to increased traffic and signs of higher-income consumers trading down — a sign of consumer fatigue. Shreedhar's top investment picks in the retail sector are Loblaw ( in the staples space, as well as Dollarama ( and Groupe Dynamite ( in the discretionary spending space. 'We view these names to have clear growth trajectories, low direct exposure to tariffs and/or demonstrated ability to pass through tariff-related costs, and a track record of growing despite heightened uncertainty.'
