Adult Swim announced Friday that it has greenlit President Curtis, a Rick and Morty spinoff show starring Keith David in the title role. The announcement came on the heels of David making a surprise appearance at the Rick and Morty panel at San Diego Comic-Con. "President Curtis has always been a blast to play," the actor said in a statement. "Getting to explore his world more deeply in this new series is a dream. I can't wait for fans to see what kind of chaos he stirs up when Rick isn't around to steal the spotlight." President Curtis is co-created by Rick and Morty executive producers Dan Harmon and James Siciliano, and will also star Stephanie Beatriz and Jim and Siciliano said in a joint statement, "President Curtis has always been one of our favorite characters to write — he's the only person in the multiverse who can go toe-to-toe with Rick and still hold office. Now we finally get to go on sci-fi missions from Curtis' point of view. And with Keith David leading the charge, it's going to be a wild ride." 'Avatar: Seven Havens' first look reveals the next earthbending Avatar

A Comic-Con panel revealed the first image of the Avatar, her mentor, and her animal companion. Meet the new Avatar. Avatar: Seven Havens, the next sequel series in Nickelodeon's kid-friendly animated fantasy franchise, revealed a first look out of a panel at Comic-Con International in San Diego on Thursday. The image reveals the Avatar who will follow Korra, the waterbending Avatar from The Legend of Korra. This new Avatar, capable of commanding all four natural elements (earth, air, fire, water), was born an earthbender. And in this timeline, she's considered humanity's destroyer, not its savior." According to a previously released show description, Avatar: Seven Havens "is set in a world shattered by a devastating cataclysm. A young earthbender discovers she's the new Avatar after Korra — but in this dangerous era, that title marks her as humanity's destroyer, not its savior. Hunted by both human and spirit enemies, she and her long-lost twin must uncover their mysterious origins and save the Seven Havens before civilization's last strongholds collapse." The first-look image also reveals her mentor, who appears to be wearing airbender colors. And because every Avatar needs an animal companion, we also get that reveal of this unnamed earthbender's four-legged friend. The initial 26 episodes will be split into two seasons, known as Book 1 and Book 2. Each will consist of 13 half-hour episodes. Original series creators Michael DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko, who made both Avatar: The Last Airbender and The Legend of Korra, are back, spearheading Avatar: Seven Havens. "When we created the original series, we never imagined we'd still be expanding the world decades later," they said in a previous joint statement. "This new incarnation of the Avatarverse is full of fantasy, mystery, and a whole new cast of amazing characters. Get ready to take another epic and emotional adventure!" Casting information and a premiere date will be revealed at a later time. Paramount is also developing the first Avatar animated movie, about Avatar Aang as an adult. That project is scheduled to release in theaters on Jan. 30, 2026, with a voice cast that includes Dave Bautista, Dionne Quan, Jessica Matten, Román Zaragoza, and newcomer Eric Nam. Christina Applegate and Katey Sagal recall 'cynical' vibe on 'Married... With Children' set: 'Somebody's gonna talk s--- on you'

The fictional mother-daughter duo debriefed on the 'negativity' on set. With a sitcom as wry as Married... With Children, it's no surprise that the set was just as snarky behind the scenes. Married costars Katey Sagal and Christina Applegate recently spoke about their time working together on Sagal and husband Kurt Sutter's podcast Pie. The Dead to Me actress said she often felt like she didn't belong on the Married set because she wasn't into "sarcasm and s--- talking and negativity." Sagal agreed that there was a "cynical" vibe on set. "We were a sarcastic, cynical bunch," Sagal said. "You weren't safe, really. You turned your back, somebody's gonna talk s--- on you." Applegate recalled a moment when this happened after a scene. She had gone to her dressing room and heard people talking badly about her through a monitor in her trailer. "I was like, 'Wow, I was just there 20 seconds ago,'" she shared. On her own MeSsy podcast, Applegate previously discussed how Sagal was a "safe space" for her in the 11 years Married was on the air. She noted that her TV mom was recently sober when the show began, which was a comfort to Applegate. "You had lived a lot of life and a lot of scarring and things had taken place," Applegate told Sagal. "And now you were on that side of strength. And I needed that. I needed that so badly in my life, a stable person."Married followed the dysfunctional Bundy family including shoe-selling patriarch Al (Ed O'Neill), his lazy wife Peggy (Sagal), teen daughter Kelly (Applegate), and bumbling younger son Bud (David Faustino). Despite the apparent negativity on set, the Married cast has maintained a fond, familial relationship throughout the years. Applegate also had O'Neill on the MeSsy podcast last year and said he practically raised her. 'Years and years of my life spent with this man and he's an incredible actor," she said. "He's an incredible human being.' In 2022, Applegate reunited with Sagal and Faustino when she received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
