Tornado warning ended for Hanover-Dundalk-southern Grey County
Environment Canada is tracking a severe thunderstorm Friday evening that could produce a tornado in the Hanover-Dundalk-southern Grey County area. Severe Thunderstorm Warning issued for southern Manitoba
A Severe Thunderstorm Warning is in effect for parts of Manitoba. Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) said Portage la Prairie and St. Ambroise are under the warning. ECCC said an incoming severe thunderstorm is capable of producing very strong wind gusts of up to 90 km/hour, heavy rain, and up to nickel-sized hail. As of 9:45 p.m. Friday, the system was near Oakland, moving east at 30 km/hour. Delta Beach may also be impacted by this system.

(File) A tornado warning is in effect for Hanover-Dundalk-southern Grey County. Environment Canada says extra care and attention should be exercised in these locations. A severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado and wing gusts up to 100 km/h is moving through the area. Locations impacted include Dundalk, Varney, Holstein, Yeovil, Maple Lane and Hopeville. Take cover immediately, if threatening weather approaches.

Severe thunderstorm watch for Windsor-Essex, Chatham-Kent
Environment Canada has issued a severe thunderstorm watch for Windsor-Essex and Chatham-Kent. The alert was issued just before 3 p.m. on Friday. According to the weather agency, conditions are favourable for the development of dangerous thunderstorms that could cause damaging winds and heavy rain. Wind gusts up to 90 to 110 km/h are possible. A heat warning remains in effect. Here's a look at your forecast: Friday night: Partly cloudy with a 60 per cent chance of showers and a risk of thunderstorms. Wind southwest 20 km/h, gusting to 40 km/h. Low 22 C. Saturday: Mainly cloudy. 30 per cent chance of showers early in the morning, clearing late in the morning. Wind west 20 km/h gusting to 40 km/h. Simcoe County ‘be prepared for severe weather,' Environment Canada says
After days of sweltering heat, parts of Ontario are bracing for a shift in weather. Just before 3 p.m. Friday, Environment Canada issued a severe thunderstorm watch for areas across Simcoe County and Muskoka. The national weather agency says conditions are favourable for the development of dangerous thunderstorms that may be capable of producing damaging wind gusts and heavy rain. Noting that there may be a risk of a tornado late this afternoon and into the evening. 'Be prepared for severe weather. If threatening weather approaches, take cover in a basement or interior room. If outside, protect yourself from flying debris and hail. When thunder roars, go indoors. Lightning kills and injures Canadians every year,' Environment Canada stated. Strong winds could down trees, damage buildings, and overturn vehicles. Residents are reminded to continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada. With sunny skies on the horizon, the weekend seems promising. Saturday will see cloudy skies with a 40 per cent chance of morning showers. Mainly cloudy into the evening with fog patches developing through the night time. If you are looking for the perfect day to enjoy the sun, skies will be clear on Sunday with a high of 27C, according to Environment Canada.
