A member of the midfield ranks at Bundesliga outfit Stuttgart has given the green light to a summer move to Spanish heavyweights Atlético Madrid. That's according to market insider Fabrizio Romano, who points towards Enzo Millot as the player in question. The name of attacking midfielder Millot has emerged as an altogether prominent one in the headlines at Atlético Madrid over recent days. This comes after word was forthcoming that, amid an ongoing search for reinforcements in the middle of the park, the Frenchman has emerged as a leading Rojiblancos target. And as alluded to above, if the latest word stemming from the media on Tuesday is anything to go by, then interest in a joining of forces between the parties is very much mutual. As per a report from journalist Fabrizio Romano: 'Enzo Millot has said yes to Atlético Madrid project and personal terms are fully agreed. Atletico Madrid negotiating for €20m Bundesliga star
Atletico Madrid continue to forge ahead with what could be an historic transfer window this summer. After the deal was confirmed for David Hancko on Wednesday night, Atletico's total spend is already at €150m without including variables, but are now courting another midfielder. Despite bringing in Johnny Cardoso and Alex Baena, Los Colchoneros clearly feel they need more options in the middle of the pitch. As things stand, the only exits will be Rodrigo de Paul and Saul Niguez, although Thomas Lemar could also leave. L'Equipe say that Atletico are now in talks to agree personal terms with Stuttgart midfielder Enzo Millot. Galatasaray and Atletico Madrid in talks Millot has attracted no shortage of attention over the last year, and other Bundesliga clubs are also interested in the French midfielder. Galatasaray have been in talks with Millot's camp this week, but have failed to reach an agreement thus far. Now Atletico are negotiating with Millot, and it is believed that he has a €20m release clause that Stuttgart will demand for him if he is to leave. For many that represents a reasonable price for the 23-year-old. Under contract until 2028, Stuttgart have little pressure to sell. Last season Millot was a crucial part of another successful season for Stuttgart, as they won the DfB Pokal last season. He played 43 times, scoring 12 goals and giving eight assists during that campaign, including five goal contributions in eight Champions League games. Diminutive and understated, Millot tends to glide around the pitch, and has become a key creative force for his decision-making, quick feet and ability to find space in the midfield. While starting his career deeper, and capable of receiving the ball from the defence, Millot has more recently moved further forward, playing behind the front line and looking to slice open defences.

Atletico Madrid in talks with Enzo Millot
Atletico Madrid have begun negotiations with Stuttgart midfielder Enzo Millot over a summer move, according to L'Equipe. Millot has emerged as one of the Bundesliga's most coveted midfielders after consecutive impressive campaigns during which he helped Die Schwaben qualify for the Champions League in the 2023-24 season. The Frenchman also netted a double in last season's DFB Pokal final against lower league side Arminia Bielefeld to end Stuttgart's 18-year wait for a major trophy. Having recently agreed a deal with Inter Miami for Rodrigo De Paul, Atletico are wasting no time in their search for a replacement and have a move for Millot high on the agenda. Millot is capable of operating as an advanced playmaker, a central midfielder, or even on either flank. The 23-year-old's current contract with Stuttgart reportedly contains a release clause of around €20 million, a relative bargain in today's market given his rising market value and well-rounded skill set. Unsurprisingly, Los Colchoneros are not alone in their pursuit of Millot, with Turkish giants Galatasaray and some German clubs also keen on a move. Nonetheless, Atletico are believed to be Millot's most attractive destination at the moment, but the La Liga side will need to move quickly. Diego Simeone's side have been active this summer and have made six new signings already following their most recent acquisition of David Hancko from Feyenoord. Hancko was well on course for a move to Saudi Pro League giants Al-Nassr before a last-minute collapse opened the door for Atletico to swoop in.

VfB Stuttgart's Enzo Millot appears headed to Galatasaray
reports that VfB Stuttgart attacker Enzo Millot is set to join his former Bundesliga colleague Leroy Sané at Galatasaray. Sport Bild reported on interest in Millot from the Turkish champions earlier in the day, but noted that Galatasaray might have problems financing the move and that there had been no contact between the two clubs. Kicker cites its own sources to claim that there has indeed been contact. Moreover, Kicker also cites Turkish sources indicating that Millot and the Süper Lig outfit have agreed to personal terms. Millot's departure from Swabia via a release clause in his current contract essentially counted as a given this summer. At one point, Arsenal were interested. Reports on the actual amount of Millot's release clause vary. Sport Bild and others speak of a €20m sum whilst Kicker references a figure in the €16m-€18m range. In any event, Germany's Württemberger will likely gladly accept the revenue as a means of helping them finance some of their own incoming transfers. Regrettably for Stuttgart, Millot maintains an estimated market value high above his release clause. The Frenchman is presently valued at €34m, albeit less than the peak of €42m he attained in the midst of an excellent first half of the 2024/25 Bundesliga campaign. GGFN |
