Rapper Cash Out sentenced to life in prison for rape and racketeering
Platinum-selling rapper Cash Out has been handed a life prison sentence after being found guilty of rape and racketeering. The musician, 34, rose to fame in 2011 with his single Cashin' Out, released under Epic Records and which peaked at number 36 on the US charts. He is also known for his debut album, Let's Get It. Real name John-Michael Hakeem Gibson, he appeared in court in Atlanta for his verdict last week. Convicted of rape, he was then sentenced to life behind bars, as well as an additional 70 years under RICO (the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organisations Act). These charges include racketeering, sex trafficking, firearm possession, and other related offences. As per WSB-TV Atlanta, some of the sentences will be concurrent (at the same time) and others consecutive. Gibson's mother, Linda Smith, also received 30 years, 20 for racketeering and 10, served concurrently, for sex trafficking. His cousin, Tyrone Taylor, was sentenced to life for aggravated sodomy and rape, plus 60 years for sex trafficking, assault, false imprisonment, and drug possession. All three will be placed on the sex offenders register and prohibited from contacting any victims in the future or returning to areas related to their crimes. This includes Fulton Industrial Boulevard. Charges were first brought against Gibson in June 2023. At the time, his lawyers argued that the victims were bullied into testifying by authorities. But, during the trial, it has been argued that Gibson attempted to silence witnesses with the help of his mother. The jury was shown interrogation footage of Smith from 2021, filmed after she had been taken into custody at a physical therapy clinic. She denied any wrongdoing in the video, saying she had visited the facility to look for her friend who had skipped a probation appointment. But in a series of phone calls played to the court, Gibson could be heard instructing his mother to find the missing woman. 'I mean, y'all acting like I done kidnapped her,' Smith is believed to have said during questioning. However, prosecutors have maintained that Gibson engaged in a 'seven-year reign of terror'. The She Twerkin' hitmaker's trial then began two months ago after he, Smith, and Taylor were accused of coercing and forcing women into sex. Prosecutors said that these women were exploited for profit and that Gibson used his star status to pursue the crimes. This included the trio using their record company, Pyrez Music Group, to entice and recruit young women. They were accused of telling the women they would receive financial rewards and increased positions of power in the company in return. While testifying, one witness reported that she was only given food if she performed sex acts for money. Fulton County prosecutor Earnell Winfrey told the court: 'This ain't just straight pimping—this is trafficking.' More Trending Ahead of his sentencing, Gibson said he thought the jurors 'made the wrong judgment' by finding him guilty, maintaining his innocence. He also claimed that all the women were of legal age and consented to their treatment. Meanwhile, key evidence presented in the case included text messages from eight different mobile phones, showing a trail of their activities. Said messages are believed to have documented their illegal operations and the coordination between the three defendants. Got a story? Mariah received plenty of love in her comment section as well from peers like Kali Uchis, Coi Leray, JT, Ryan Trey and Lori Harvey. 'This cover is [fire],' JT wrote. Mariah Carey, 56, continues to show off her jaw-dropping weight loss... as she hits Disneyland as the eternal diva enlists an umbrella-carrying aide to protect her from the sun
She has been showing off her incredible new physique in recent weeks. And Mariah Carey made no exception as she headed to Disneyland on Monday, during which she donned a skin-tight look to help showcase her frame. The Always Be My Baby hitmaker, 56, wore a bardot black top with a pair of black and white patterned trousers and $1075 (£790) Christian Dior wedges. In a nod to her surroundings, she wore a pair of Minnie Mouse ears with oversized sunglasses as she shielded herself from the sun. Known for her diva ways, Mariah was assisted by an aide who held an umbrella over her head to prevent the sun beating down. Mariah looked incredible in the ensemble, which made the most of her tiny waist and eye-popping bust following her recent weight loss. Earlier this month, the hitmaker then sat down with DJs Ebro Darden and Zane Lowe to chat in LA, where she teased her upcoming sixteenth studio album. It marks her first LP in eight years and first since partnering with new music company Gamma for her comeback, after leaving label Epic Records, who released her last album Caution in 2018. Last month, Mariah released the lead single, Type Dangerous, which debuted at number 95 on the Billboard Hot 100. Chatting to Zane and Ebro, she teased: 'What is next? Well it's the album coming out! I don't want tell too much about it because I just don't want to reveal the whole thing.' However, the All I Want For Christmas star confirmed that the album was finished and would be made up of '11 or 12 songs', before adding: 'We got some Mariah ballads' to cheers from the crowd. She continued: 'Second single is coming soon, I've very excited about it. It's very summery, I like the beat as well'. According to Forbes, the songstress, who has 19 number one singles, is aiming to get her 20th chart topper with Type Dangerous. 'She's fighting to stay contemporary,' her longtime producer LA Reid told the publication. And it appears her name still carries much weight in the music industry, after it was reported that fellow superstar Beyoncé 'bowed down' to Mariah and moved out a £25k-a-night penthouse for her. The singer, 43, had booked a 12-night stay at the Corinthia while performing at London's Tottenham Hotspur Stadium last month. However, she reportedly moved out when self-confessed diva Mariah touched down in London, to play at Capital's Summertime Ball. A source told The Sun: 'Superstars as big as Beyoncé and Mariah want to stay in only the best hotels. Beyoncé had been staying in Corinthia's penthouses. 'But when Mariah flew in, Beyoncé packed up so Mariah could take over her suites. It was like Beyoncé was bowing down to another music queen.'

Atlanta Rapper Ca$h Out Accused Of Witness Intimidation In RICO Trial
Ca$h Out, a rapper who found fame in 2011 with his hit single 'Cashin' Out,' is currently on trial in Atlanta as the state of Georgia brought racketeering charges against him. In a new report, Ca$h Out and his mother, known as 'Mama Ca$h,' are being accused of intimidating and attempting to silence a woman who is a witness in the matter. Local outlet WSB-TV shared in a report that Ca$h Out, 34, faced new accusations from the prosecution alleging that the former Epic Records signee employed his mother, real name Linda Smith, to intimidate the aforementioned witness. Smit is a co-defendant in the RICO case, as is the cooperating witness whom the pair tried to silence. The witness, whose identity is being kept hidden, was allegedly cornered by Smith and told not to cooperate with the investigation against her son. The woman was arrested with Ca$h Out in 2021 during a prostitution sting. From what the report states, Smith was arrested in Buckhead at a physical therapy clinic, which apparently is connected to the witness. Smith, in a 2021 interrogation video, claimed she was at the clinic looking for a friend who missed a probation appointment. 'I mean, y'all acting like I done kidnapped her,' Smith reportedly said during the interrogation session. She was asked why she attempted to reach the witness and answered, 'I said why would she miss her probation, she knows how important that is.' Prosecutors presented audio recordings of Gibson giving his mother instructions to contact the unnamed witness by phone. The prosecution then played a clip of Smith rebuffing her son's request. 'I already told you I'm going to the doctor, I already called the number, I'm doing everything you asked me to do. Stop pissing me off,' Smith was reportedly heard saying in the call. Ca$h Out is facing 41 counts of rape, sex trafficking and luring women into prostitution. — Photo: Instagram/@1CashOut SEE ALSO Atlanta Rapper Ca$h Out Accused Of Witness Intimidation In RICO Trial was originally published on

Michael Jackson 'humiliated' by his dad as a child
Michael Jackson's fixation on cosmetic surgery and appearance was sparked by childhood humiliation at the hands of his father, a new book claims. The singer, who was killed by a drug overdose aged 50 in 2009, was renowned for his addiction to changing his appearance. Jackson's former lawyer John Mason has now stated in his memoir that it was down to the abuse of the star by his domineering dad Joe Jackson. Mason, who is now in his 80s, says in his book Crazy Lucky: Remarkable Stories from Inside the World of Celebrity Icons, that Jackson told him his father "told me I had a big nose" early in his life. "That was just the beginning of Michael's obsession with his looks," the former lawyer says in the extract obtained by Mason worked with the Jackson family during their transition from Motown to Epic Records in the 1970s and goes into detail in his book about the emotional and psychological toll inflicted on the young star. "In 1964, Michael, who was six years old and driven to sing and dance, went to work," he writes. "Michael would remember years later that his father didn't praise his singing ability after that first performance or his magical moves." That early criticism, Mason writes, "planted the seeds for future plastic surgery adventures in the name of finding true beauty". Despite Jackson's public insistence he had only undergone two nose surgeries, his continually changing appearance fuelled long-standing speculation over the extent of his cosmetic procedures. Mason described his time with the family as strained and uncomfortable, particularly due to Joe Jackson's harsh methods. "Back in the day, Joe made all the calls," he said. "He would sit at rehearsals with a belt in his hand in case he had to punish any mistakes or misbehaviour. "There was never a fun moment. Joe's way of approaching people was to be intimidating. He would shake your hand and try to crush it." Jackson's death was caused by acute propofol intoxication combined with sedatives and ruled a homicide by the Los Angeles County coroner's office. His doctor Conrad Murray was convicted of involuntary manslaughter in 2011 for providing the singer with the hospital-strength tranquiliser, which Jackson called his "milk" as he said it was the only thing that helped him sleep.
