Hamza Igamane a Feyenoord transfer target as Rangers braced for record breaking bid from Dutch giants
The Eredivise giants are desperate to knock PSV off their perch and Robin van Persie wants Gers' Moroccan star to shoot them down Dutch big guns Feyenoord are considering shattering their own transfer record by launching a big money move for Hamza Igamane. Sources in Rotterdam have confirmed to Record Sport that the big spending Eredivisie outfit have joined a group of clubs from across Europe closely tracking the Rangers striker and have not been scared off by Igamane's potential multi-million pound price tag. It's understood president Toon van Bodegom is prepared to dig deep this summer in a bid to help recently appointed boss Robin van Persie knock PSV Eindhoven off their perch after back-to-back title wins. He's already backed Van Persie by splashing out around £10m to sign Holland's player of the year last season, Sem Steijn, from FC Twente ahead of the new campaign. The deal for Steijn made the playmaker the most expensive signing in Feyenoord's history but, two just months on, Van Bodegom is prepared to break the bank all over again as Van Persie weighs up a number of potential new strikers. And Igamane 's name is believed to feature high on his shortlist of targets. French clubs Lille and Rennes are understood to be closely monitoring Igamane's situation with Everton and Italian outfit Udinese also heavily linked. Lille had thrashed out Igamane's personal terms earlier this summer but then failed to table a cash offer after being spooked by an asking price believed to be around £15m. Rennes are now thought to be the next Ligue 1 club ready to come to the table after selling former Celtic striker Kyogo Furuhashi to Birmingham and preparing to bank a further £20m from the sale of another striker, Arnaud Kalimuendo. But Feyenoord could jump to the front of the queue with sources in the Netherlands insisting that the interest in the Moroccan international is 'very serious' even if a £15m fee would be 'at the very top end' of Feyenoord's budget. Igamane has been named in Russell Martin 's squad for the Champions League double header against Panathinaikos but is not expected to lead the Rangers attack in tomorrow night's first leg tie, with former Feyenoord frontman Danilo tipped to get the nod up front. Rangers warned Dor Turgeman comes with a 'fairytale' transfer fee as Igamane interest surges and a mentor steps in
The striker search is ramping up for Russell Martin with Hamza Igamane's future in doubt Rangers have been told by Maccabi Tel Aviv boss Zarko Lazetic it would take a "fairytale offer" to sign Dor Turgeman this summer. Record Sport first revealed the striker is a target for the Light Blues as Russell Martin looks to strengthen his frontline with the new era at Ibrox set to officially start with his first competitive game in Champions League qualifying against Panathinaikos. Turgeman has reportedly already made his position over an exit clear with the Scottish Premiership named as his preferred destination - but there has been little movement in recent weeks. A £5million asking price has previously been floated amid reports that a £4million offer had been tabled - but following the friendly win over Hapoel Ironi Rishon LeZion, Lazetic hinted that big money may have to be put on the table. He told Sport 1: "He is a football beast, only a fairytale offer would tempt the club to sell the player. £4million will not be enough." A deal is said to be on hold until after the Scottish Premiership side can offload either Cyriel Dessers or Hamza Igamane. Interest is rising in the Morocco international amid reports Lille are "struggling" to seal a deal with the Light Blues' standing firm on their £15million valuation. Everton and Udinese are said to be chasing a deal while Feyenoord have registered their interest. Voetbal Primeur report that the Dutch side could fund a deal for the 22-year-old by selling El Bilal Toure to Atalanta. Luuk de Jong is also reportedly on Rangers' radar as he looks to have brought his time at PSV Eindhoven to an end. The 34-year-old has seen his No. 9 jersey handed to Ricardo Pepi while the Eredivise champions have signed Borussia Monchengladbach forward Alassane Plea as a successor. During the German training camp this week, boss Peter Bosz admitted: "We owe a lot to Luuk, but we have to move on." PSV and Netherlands' legend Willy van de Kerkhof has urged De Jong to hold a last-ditch summit with Bosz before walking away from the offer on the table. He told ED: "The chances of him signing with PSV before September 1 are getting smaller and smaller, that much is clear. "I was 35 when I was faced with the decision to add another season after fourteen years at PSV. I myself was in doubt just like Luuk. "There were nice offers, for example from Go Ahead Eagles and a few other clubs. I would have liked to do something else, but changed my mind pretty quickly after a good conversation with Guus Hiddink. "He made me see how I could be of value as an older player, without playing a huge amount. I would like to give that to Luuk as well. "I had a wonderful last season, without much pressure. As an older player you can be so important with your experience and that gave me a lot of satisfaction."

Hamza Igamane a Rangers 'risk' as surging Lille talks see transfer rivals pull out amid De Jong intel leak
Russell Martin has a big decision to make on the striker before the crucial Champions League clash with Panathinaikos Rangers have been told they are RIGHT not to risk Hamza Igamane for the Champions League qualifier with Panathinaikos next Tuesday. It comes with the club standing firm on their £15million valuation of the striker amid ongoing talks with Lille - with reports suggesting one suitor has now dropped out of the race to land the 22-year-old. Igamane impressed in his debut Ibrox campaign - netting 16 goals for the Light Blues after a £1.7m move from AS FAR last summer. That has sparked discussions with the Ligue 1 side over a potential move - and Rangers new owners 49ers Enterprises are determined to land a bumper profit in the 22-year-old with the Glasgow giants holding out for a £15m payday. And while Igamane has already agreed personal terms over a move no formal bid has been tabled - with Lille president Olivier Letang previously admitting the club were in no hurry to get a deal done. But Foot Mercato now report that the club are re-launching their bid to land the striker and want him to be their "next" recruit. With the Light Blues to command a bumper fee, former Ibrox striker Gordon Dalziel insists that it would be a gamble for Russell Martin to play the Morocco international. However, he reckons Cyriel Dessers should be recalled despite interest from AEK. He told Clyde 1 Superscoreboard: 'If I was in the situation, for example Igamane, and they are talking figures around the £14-15m for him - I totally understand Rangers wouldn't risk him. "But, I would certainly risk Dessers, because Dessers isn't going to get you anywhere near that.' But the valuation from Rangers has reportedly seen Marseille rule out a move, with Le 10 Sport that Lille's Ligue 1 rivals are unwilling to go beyond €10million (£8.6million). In terms of a replacement for Dessers and Igamane, Luuk de Jong is reportedly on Rangers' radar - as he looks to have pulled the curtain down on his time at PSV Eindhoven. The 34-year-old had been training with the Eredivise champions to maintain his fitness as he weights up his options. But the club have now handed his No. 9 jersey to Ricardo Pepi and signed Borussia Monchengladbach forward Alassane Plea as a successor. Former Dutch defender Bram van Polen claims that he has heard whispers that De Jong's time is officially over at the Eredivise champions as he looks for an "adventure" away from the Netherlands. He told ESPN's Voetbalpraat: "They've moved on now. I would understand a foreign adventure from his (De Jong's) perspective. "And perhaps he's become worried about his minutes. Last year, you could already see things declining with Pepi. And now, with another title, he's saying goodbye on a high note."

Conor Coady transfer solves lingering Rangers issue as Luuk de Jong decision made after £3.4m trigger
The defender is pushing to leave Leicester City before the Light Blues crucial clash with Panathinaikos Paul Dickov reckons Conor Coady will add the leadership Rangers have been missing in their bid to dethrone Celtic. The 32-year-old is set to plead with Leicester City bosses to be omitted from the club's pre-season tour with the England cap pushing for a move to Ibrox ahead of next week's Champions League qualification first leg clash with Panathinaikos. Former Foxes striker Dickov reckons that the departure of the experienced defender would be a major blow to the English Championship side and new boss Marti Cifuentes. But he reckons Coady could be the missing ingredient for Russell Martin and a potential title push. Dickov exclusively told Record Sport via WDW Bingo: 'It would certainly be a loss for Leicester, but it would be great for Rangers if they signed Conor Coady. "He is a quality player, and he has bags of experience to bring to the table. "One thing Rangers have been lacking over the last couple of seasons while trying to bridge the gap to Celtic is leadership. 'Russell Martin will have known that before he came to the club and identified Conor as someone who could help with leadership. "He has been captain at pretty much every club he has played for, which would be a valuable skill set to bring to Rangers. "If they did sign him and once he settled in, he would start to rub off on everyone else around him, which could really boost their chances of having a more successful season next year.' Luuk de Jong is also reportedly on Rangers ' radar - and the free agent appears to have now pulled the curtain down on his time at PSV Eindhoven. The 34-year-old opted against penning a contract extension with the club but had been training with the Eredivise champions to maintain his fitness. But the club have now handed his No. 9 jersey to Ricardo Pepi and are on the brink of signing Borussia Monchengladbach forward Alassane Plea in a £3.4million deal to fill the void left by De Jong. Speaking to Voetbal International about a deal for Plea, PSV boss Peter Bosz said: "He's a really good footballer. "A striker needs to score goals, and he's shown that. Even last season, when he scored eleven in the Bundesliga. He could also easily play just below or alongside Ricardo Pepi. Pushed on De Jong's future, he appeared to close the door stating: "We waited for Luuk, but that's no longer possible. "Pepi isn't fit yet. He's training with us, but that's a different story. He's been out for six months. "He's only now playing in matches. He needs time, and you can't keep waiting for Luuk. You simply need a striker. Whether there's still room for Luuk, I honestly don't know."

Youngsters shine as Chiefs beat top flight Zwolle in the Netherlands
Thulani Mabaso, one of Amakhosi's four DStv Diski Challenge under-23 side players taken with the senior team to Holland, took the shot that struck the post to set up the opening, second-half goal. Another, Naledi Hlongwane, buried the rebound for the 54th-minute decider. Generally Chiefs impressed against the team that finished in 10th place in the Eredivise last season. Amakhosi coach Nasreddine Nabi started with more regular senior performers then introduced younger players off the bench, as his team generally had good possession and structure and created decent chances.
