Report: Barcelona full-back could head out on loan this summer
Hector Fort's future at Barcelona is up in the air, with journalist Víctor Navarro (via FCB World) reporting that the young right-back could be heading out on loan this summer. Despite being seen as a promising option for the new season, Fort's absence from the pitch during Barcelona's 3-1 win over Vissel Kobe has raised questions about his role under Hansi Flick. The pre-season opener in Japan saw goals from Eric Garcia, Roony Bardghji and Pedro 'Dro' Fernandez, but Fort remained on the bench throughout the match. Instead, Flick chose to start Garcia at right-back and brought on Jules Kounde in the second half. This tactical decision has cast doubt over Fort's standing in the squad. Garcia's rise pushes Fort further down Last season, Fort featured in 20 games for the first team and was viewed as Kounde's natural understudy. However, Eric Garcia's strong finish to the campaign at right-back has shifted things in his favour. Hector Fort could leave Barcelona on loan this summer. (Photo by) It is telling that while three left-backs, Alejandro Balde, Jofre Torrents and Gerard Martin, all got playing time against Vissel Kobe, Fort didn't get a single minute. What makes the situation more surprising is Fort's commitment during the off-season. The defender returned to training earlier than most and even worked on his fitness during the holidays with the help of a personal trainer. Despite his efforts, Flick seems to prefer other options for now. With competition building in defence and limited chances on the horizon, a loan move appears to be the most logical step for Fort. A temporary switch would allow him to get regular game time and continue his development away from the pressure. For now, all signs point towards a summer exit, though only on a short-term basis.

Rashford makes first Barcelona appearance
Marcus Rashford played 33 minutes on his first Barcelona appearance in their 3-1 friendly win over Japanese side Vissel Kobe. The England forward, who has joined the Spanish champions on a season-long loan from Manchester United, came on at half-time in one of 11 changes. But the 27-year-old, whose move can be made permanent for £30.3m next summer, was then replaced in the 78th minute by teenager Dro Fernandez, who scored Barcelona's third goal. Defender Eric Garcia netted the opener in the 33rd minute, before Taisei Miyashiro equalised for hosts Vissel Kobe three minutes before the break. Swedish forward Roony Bardghji - a summer signing from Copenhagen - put Barca back in front, before 17-year-old Dro sealed the success in the 87th minute. The match had been called off earlier in the week with Barcelona blaming "serious contractual breaches" by the promoter - but those issues were sorted for the game to go ahead. Barcelona forced to release statement mid-match as thousands left unable to watch Marcus Rashford's 23-minute debut
BARCELONA were forced to release a statement with thousands of fans left unable to watch Marcus Rashford's debut. The Man Utd loanee - who arrived at the Camp Nou earlier this week- was brought on as a half-time substitute, and then replaced 23 minutes later in his first match since the end of last season. 3 3 3 The England man immediately showed promising signs, playing a sublime ball through to Robert Lewandowski, who teed up Roony Bardghji to score in the second half. The match was being streamed for FREE on Barcelona 's app, but the Catalan giants suffered a host of issues with the live broadcast. Midway through the second half, they released a grovelling apology. It said: "FC Barcelona's streaming platforms received an attack of large proportions from various pages attempting to capture the live feed of the preseason game against Vissel Kobe. "As a result of this avalanche of requests, the system engaged the pertinent security mechanisms which then affected the broadcast on the website and the Culers app. "Straightaway, the decision was taken to offer the game free on the Clubs' YouTube platform to guarantee the broadcast of the game. "The Club apologies for the inconvenience caused and will be in contact with all those people affected." The match had initially been scrapped amid a row over a 'serious breach of contract' - but was later reinstated and went ahead as scheduled. Ex-Man City star Eric Garcia opened the scoring with his first goal for the Catalan club midway through the first half, before Taisei Miyashiro levelled the scores just before half-time. Bardghji restored Barca's lead with 13 minutes remaining, before 17-year-old Pedro Fernandez - who replaced Rashford - sealed victory in the dying embers. Rashford is in line for a reunion with former Man Utd pal Jesse Lingard on Thursday, with Barca set to face his FC Seoul at the 66,000-seater Seoul World Cup Stadium.

Barcelona confident of closing agreement with 24-year-old star
Barcelona are not expected to make any further signings this summer, but there is still key business that needs to be done. Sales are required for a number of players to be registered with La Liga, and on top of this, contract talks are set to take place with several first team stars. An agreement on a new deal with Jules Kounde has recently been finalised, sporting director Deco will move on to other players. And two that are classed as priorities for Barcelona are Frenkie de Jong and Eric Garcia. Both players are out of contract in less than 12 months' time, so it is essential for new terms to be agreed in the coming weeks. In regards to de Jong, talks with his new representatives are expected to take place soon, and this could also be the case for Eric. It has previously been reported that Eric had been close to an agreement on a new contract, but rather, the process has been slow. As per MD, both parties are seeking a resolution soon, with the plan being for the 24-year-old defender to remain at the Catalan club for years to come. Image via Cordon Press Hansi Flick is counting on Eric for next season Barcelona want to sell at least one centre-back this summer, although Hansi Flick has made it clear that he does not want Eric to go. Like Kounde, he can play at right-back as well as in central defence, and he values this versatility. Barcelona expect there to be no problems in reaching an agreement with Eric, although it may not come for a few weeks at least. They are aware that the player is happy in Catalonia, and his preference would be to remain in Flick's squad for a while yet. For now, it remains to be seen whether that turns out to be the case.
