Jobless charged with raping girlfriend, 14

Kota Kinabalu: A 19-year-old jobless man was charged with raping his underaged girlfriend. Eryidley Jarry pleaded not guilty before Sessions Court Judge Amir Shah Amir Hassan to the charge against him on Tuesday. He is accused of raping the 14-year and two-month-old girl at 1am on June 25 this year inside a car parked by the roadside in Timbok Mengkabong, Tuaran. The offence under Section 376(1) of the Penal Code carries a jail term of up to 20 years and whipping, on conviction. The court set Aug 8 for mention of the case and released Eryidley on bail of RM6,000 in two local sureties. Eryidley was also ordered to report to the Tuaran police station once a month, to surrender his passport, if any, to the court until the disposal of his case. The court also reminded Eryidley to not tamper or communicate with the prosecution's witnesses, otherwise the bail would be revoked. Deputy Public Prosecutor Bryan Francis appeared for the prosecution while Eryidley was not represented. Meanwhile, four illegal immigrants were jailed four months each for entering the State without valid documents. They were Omar Jamal, Vincensius Besalakan Hayon, Yosep Sereng and Masitah Ridwan. All of them pleaded guilty before Sessions Court Judge Hurman Hussain to entering the State illegally, respectively. The illegal immigrants were arrested on June 18 and 24 this year at different places in Keningau and Tuaran after failing to produce their identity documents to the immigration personnel during an operation carried out at the said areas. The court ordered the four to serve the jail sentence from the date of their arrests. After completing their jail term, the court ordered them referred to the Immigration Department for further action. Youth claims trial to raping teenage girlfriend
The Kota Kinabalu Court Complex. KOTA KINABALU (July 8): A 19-year-old unemployed youth claimed trial in a Sessions Court here to raping his teenage girlfriend. Eryidley Jarry, who appeared before judge Amir Shah Amir Hassan, was accused of raping the 14-year-old girl inside a car parked at the roadside in Tuaran at 1am on June 25. The alleged offence was under Section 376(1) of the Penal Code which carries a jail term of up to 20 years and whipping, upon conviction. The court set August 8 to re-mention the case and released Eryidley on RM6,000 bail with two local sureties. Eryidley, who was unrepresented, was ordered to report to a nearest police station once a month and to surrender his passport, if any, to the court, pending disposal of his case. He was unrepresented. In an unrelated case, a company was fined by another Sessions Court here for separate charges of allowing illegal immigrants to remain in premises. Judge Hurman Hussain fined the company RM15,000 after its representative admitted to give permission for undocumented Indonesians to be at a factory in Ranau on October 24, 2023. The offence was under Section 55E (1) of the Immigration Act 19563.
