Escorts Kubota tractor sales up 2.2% in June 2025, construction equipment down
New Delhi [India], July 1 (ANI): Escorts Kubota Limited reported a 2.2 per cent rise in total tractor sales for June 2025, selling 11,498 tractors compared to 11,245 units in June 2024. According to Escorts Kubota Limited, the company's Agri Machinery Business showed strong export growth, even as domestic sales remained steady. Domestic tractor sales stood at 10,997 units in June 2025, slightly lower than 11,011 units in the same month last year. However, export sales more than doubled, reaching 501 tractors in June 2025 from 234 units in June 2024 -- a growth of 114.1 per cent. The company said that the timely arrival of the southwest monsoon, better Kharif crop sowing, and higher Minimum Support Prices (MSP) helped improve farmer confidence. With forecasts of above-normal monsoon and better rural liquidity, Escorts Kubota expects tractor demand to stay strong in the coming months. For the April to June quarter (Q1 FY26), the company sold a total of 30,581 tractors, up 0.7 per cent from 30,370 units sold during Q1 FY25. While domestic sales dropped slightly by 1.9 per cent to 28,848 units, exports rose by 80.3 per cent to 1,733 units. On the other hand, the company's Construction Equipment Business saw a decline. In June 2025, only 334 machines were sold, down 27.2 per cent from 459 machines sold in June 2024. For Q1 FY26, construction equipment sales were 1,055 units, a 23.7 per cent drop from 1,382 units in the same quarter last year. Escorts Kubota said the drop in construction equipment sales was due to slower project activity during the monsoon season, delays in infrastructure work, and higher prices due to new emission rules. However, the company expects demand to pick up after the monsoon, supported by higher government spending on infrastructure. The sales numbers include those of Escorts Kubota India Pvt. Ltd. and Kubota Agricultural Machinery India Pvt. Ltd., following their merger with Escorts Kubota Limited, approved by the National Company Law Tribunal in August 2024. (ANI)

Despite the overall growth being modest, a shift in the domestic and export market dynamics is evident. In the domestic market, tractor sales stood at 9,703 units in May 2025, slightly lower than the 9,906 units recorded in the same month last year. The decline of 2% is attributed to a high base and market adjustments. However, the timely onset of the monsoon has brought optimism to the agricultural sector. With preparations underway for the Kharif crop season, expectations remain positive due to an above-normal monsoon forecast, healthy water reservoir levels, and improved liquidity conditions across rural markets. Export sales presented a more robust picture. Tractor exports surged to 651 units in May 2025, marking a 71.3% growth compared to 380 units in May 2024. This strong export performance contributed significantly to maintaining the overall growth momentum for the company during the month. For the cumulative period of April to May 2025 (the first two months of FY26), total tractor sales stood at 19,083 units, slightly below the 19,125 units sold in the corresponding period of the previous fiscal year. Domestic sales during this period reached 17,851 units, down 3% from 18,398 units a year earlier. Meanwhile, export volumes for the same two-month period rose to 1,232 units from 727 units, reflecting a 69.5% increase. Overall, Escorts Kubota Limited's performance in May 2025 indicates stable market conditions, with export growth playing a critical role in offsetting the slight decline in domestic sales. In fact, she's not even remotely associated with the film industry, just like her parents — Nikhil Nanda and Shweta Bachchan — but unlike her brother Agastya Nanda, who made his acting debut a couple of years ago. 'I grew up in Delhi, so a large part of my childhood was spent watching and listening to my father talk about business, and more specifically, tractors. From a very young age, that is what excited me. I never wanted to join films; I wanted to be an entrepreneur,' said Navya. Her father Nikhil Nanda, based out of Delhi, is the Chairman and Managing Director of Escorts Kubota Limited, an engineering MNC which specializes in agricultural, construction and railways equipment and machinery.
