Alia Bhatt's former personal assistant allegedly leaked confidential information related to her production house Eternal Sunshine Productions to an unknown US resident and had duped the Bollywood actor of Rs 77 lakh by transferring money to bank accounts of various people and companies, Juhu Police officials probing the fraud said. Vedika Shetty, who worked as Ms Bhatt's personal assistant from 2021 to 2024, came in contact with a person named Shivasai Teja, who lives in the US, in December 2023. She then shared several confidential information pertaining to Eternal Sunshine Productions with the man through WhatsApp, without the knowledge and consent of the production house and its director, Soni Razdan. Efforts are being made to ascertain more details about Teja and how he came in contact with Shetty, the officials said. Shetty was arrested from Bengaluru on Tuesday. Besides, investigations also revealed that between May 2, 2022 and March 22, 2024, Shetty transferred huge sums of money from Ms Bhatt's account to the accounts of various people and firms, including one Satvik Sahu (₹43 lakh), Simi John (₹57,000) in the account of Simi John, Shashank Pandey (₹77,000), Chandni Jitendra Prasad Dixit (Rs 18 lakh) and ₹6 lakh in the name of a person named Manish Sukhij. The former assistant also purchased goods worth Rs 4.36 lakh in the name of the production house and got them delivered to various addresses, the police said. IPhones and iPads worth rs 2.94 lakh were also purchased using the company's money, they added. Police said the fraud came to light in January this year when Shetty sent an invoice to Ms Bhatt on the pretext of clearing bills for an event. Ms Bhatt turned suspicious and called the mobile number mentioned on the invoice and found the receiver to be a friend of Shetty. Following this, Ms Bhatt got her bank accounts audited and learnt about the fraud, the police added. Earlier, police said Shetty allegedly used to prepare fake invoices and get the actor's signature on them. She used to tell Ms Bhatt that those invoices were for various expenses incurred by the actor for travel, gatherings and meetings. After the actor signed the invoices, Shetty would send the relevant payment to her close friend, who used to transfer the entire deposited amount back to her account. The accused has been booked under relevant legal provisions, including for cheating and criminal breach of trust, the police said. After Ms Razdan filed a complaint, the police added, Shetty had gone into hiding and kept changing her location. She travelled to Rajasthan, Karnataka, Maharashtra, before eventually being caught in Bengaluru. There was no official statement from either Ms Bhatt or her production house till the time of filing this report.

In a new revelaton, Mumbai Police have found that Bollywood actress Alia Bhatt's former personal assistant, Vedika Shetty, allegedly leaked confidential information related to Bhatt's production house Eternal Sunshine Productions to an unidentified US national and syphoned off Rs 77 lakh from the actress's bank account. According to Juhu police, Shetty, who worked with Bhatt between 2021 and 2024, came in contact with a man named Shivsai Teja, based in the US, in December 2023. Following this, she allegedly shared sensitive internal information related to the production house with him over WhatsApp without the knowledge or consent of its director, Soni said that efforts are underway to learn how Teja contacted Shetty and the extent of his involvement. Police arrested Shetty on Tuesday from Bengaluru. Investigations further revealed that between May 2, 2022, and March 22, 2024, Shetty transferred large sums of money from Bhatt's account to multiple individuals and firms. These included Rs 43 lakh to Satvik Sahu, Rs 57,000 to Simi John, 77,000 to Shashank Pandey, Rs 18 lakh to Chandni Jitendra Prasad Dixit, and Rs lakh to a person named Manish added that Shetty also purchased goods worth Rs 4.36 lakh in the name of the production house and delivered them to various addresses. She also used company funds to buy an iPhone and iPad worth Rs 2.94 fraud came to light in January this year when Shetty sent an invoice to Bhatt for an event-related expense. Suspicious, Bhatt called the phone number listed on the bill, only to discover it belonged to Shetty's friend. She then ordered an audit of her bank accounts, which exposed the financial police revealed that Shetty would allegedly prepare fake bills and get them signed by Bhatt, claiming they were for the actor's travel, event, and meeting expenses. Police have arrested Bollywood star Alia Bhatt's former personal assistant Vedika Prakash Shetty over charges of cheating the actor of approximately Rs 77 lakh. What's Happening Vedika Prakash Shetty, who formerly worked in the capacity of Bollywood star Alia Bhatt's personal assistant, has been taken into custody by the police. Vedika Prakash Shetty also took care of the actor's personal funds. According to reports, she has committed fraud of Rs 76,90,892 from both Alia Bhatt's personal accounts and her production house Eternal Sunshine Productions's accounts. Who Is Vedika Prakash Shetty Vedika Prakash Shetty, 32, worked with Alia Bhatt between 2021 and 2024. She is accused of committing irregularities worth Rs 76.9 lakh in the actor's production company, Eternal Sunshine Productions Private Limited which was launched in 2021. Besides her role at the production banner, Vedika Prakash Shetty also handled Alia Bhatt's personal accounts. Police have said, Vedika Prakash Shetty committed the fraud between May 2022 and August 2024. Alia Bhatt's mother, actor Soni Razdan filed a complaint against Vedika Prakash Shetty alleging financial misconduct with the Juhu Police on January 23, 2025. The police then registered a case under sections relating to criminal breach of trust and cheating. Soon after Soni Razdan filed the complaint, Vedika Prakash Shetty went missing and kept changing her location. According to police, she was tracked down to Rajasthan, then to Karnataka, then to Pune and then to Bengaluru. The police eventually arrested her in Bengaluru, nearly five months after a complaint was filed. She was then brought to Mumbai on a transit demand. How Vedika Prakash Shetty Allegedly Committed The Fraud According to police investigation, Vedika Prakash Shetty embezzled the money by allegedly preparing fake bills which she then got signed by Alia Bhatt. She reportedly told the actor that the expenses were related to her work, including travel and meetings. She carried out these activities between 2023 and 2025 The money was first transferred to Vedika Prakash Shetty's friend's account. This friend would later send the money to Vedika Prakash Shetty. According to sources, cops are sifting through Vedika Prakash Shetty's bank accounts and financial records. Alia Bhatt is yet to issue a statement on the matter. In A Nutshell Actor Alia Bhatt's ex-assistant Vedika Prakash Shetty has been arrested by the police for allegedly duping the actor of approximately Rs 77 lakh over a period of two years. Alia Bhatt's former personal assistant, Vedika Prakash Shetty, has been arrested by the Mumbai Police for allegedly cheating the Bollywood actor and embezzling money from her production company's account. According to the police, Shetty, who was arrested in Bengaluru, had been working as a secretary for Bhatt's company, Eternal Sunshine Productions Pvt. Ltd. Due to her position, she was given access to and authority over the office's financial matters. The police said Shetty embezzled more than Rs 7.7 million (Dh329,387.9 approximately) from the company's account between August 2022 and 2024. As per the police, the complaint was filed by the actor's mother Soni Bhatt earlier this year at Mumbai's Juhu Police Station. A case was registered against Shetty on January 23, 2025, under sections 316(4) and 318(4) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), the Indian penal code. Meanwhile, Bhatt is busy filming her upcoming movie, Alpha, directed by Shiv Rawail and produced by Yash Raj Films. The movie is scheduled for release on December 25. She is also working on Love and War with Ranbir Kapoor and Vicky Kaushal, directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali.

Six months after a complaint of fraud and forgery was filed against Alia Bhatt's former personal assistant Vedika Prakash Shetty, the accused has been arrested on Tuesday by Juhu Police in Bengaluru. She's been produced before the Bandra Magistrate, which remanded her to police custody till Thursday. In January, Alia's mother, veteran actor Soni Razdan, had approached the Juhu police to file a complaint against Shetty, who was employed with Alia from 2021 till last year. The 32-year-old allegedly forged Alia's signature on documents in order to siphon funds from the actor's personal accounts as well as those of her production house, Eternal Sunshine Productions. As per a Hindustan Times report, Shetty routed the funds to her friend's account, who then reversed it to Shetty's personal account. While the said friend hasn't kept any money with them, they're also being questioned by the Juhu police in order to recover the stolen money. Shetty had been absconding for months and her location was finally traced down to Bengaluru by Juhu police. Alia and her sister, author Shaheen Bhatt, started their production house in 2022. They co-produced Jasmeet K Reen's black comedy Darlings, which also starred Alia, along with Shah Rukh Khan's Red Chillies Entertainment, which released in 2022 on Netflix India. The film also starred Vijay Varma, Shefali Shah, and Roshan Mathew. Alia next co-produced Vasan Bala's escape thriller Jigra last year, along with Karan Johar's Dharma Productions. The film, which also starred Alia, Manoj Pahwa, Vedang Raina, and Vivek Gomber, released in cinemas, but didn't work wonders at the box office. Alia also lent might to Richie Mehta's thriller series Poacher, which released on Prime Video India last year. Along with Alpha, Alia will also star opposite her real-life husband Ranbir Kapoor and Vicky Kaushal in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's romantic drama Love & War next year.
