Alia Bhatt ex assistant arrested for cheating actor of Rs 77 lakh. Vedika Prakash Shetty (32), is accused of financial irregularities involving ₹76.9 lakh which is alleged to have impacted both Eternal Sunshine Productions Pvt. Ltd as well as Ms Bhatt's personal account. Alia Bhatt cheating case, the police have said, was done between May 2022 and August 2024. It came to light after Alia Bhatt's mother, actor-director Soni Razdan, filed a complaint with Juhu police on January 23. Alia Bhatt assistant fraud case was registered under sections of criminal breach of trust and cheating in connection with Alia Bhatt's assistant and the police have issued a lookout notice for Vedika Shetty. According to police sources, Vedika Shetty was working as Ms. Bhatt's personal assistant from 2021 till 2024. During her employment with the actor, she dealt with Ms Bhatt's financial documents, payments and also planned her schedule. The Alia Bhatt latest controversy has found that Vedika Shetty used professional paraphernalia to make these fake bills look authentic. After Ms Bhatt signed them, the amounts were transferred to the account of a friend who would then reverse the money in Vedika Shetty's account. After Ms Razdan filed the police complaint, Vedika Shetty was on the run, sources said, and was constantly shifting her location. She was traced to Rajasthan, then to Karnataka, then Pune and then Bengaluru. Acting on the complaint, Juhu police searched and arrested her from Bengaluru and brought her to Mumbai after transit remand. 'We had registered an FIR against Shetty in January after Bhatt's mother Soni Razdan approached us,' the police said. 'The officials said that Shetty had produced several fake invoices or Rs 77 lakh scam to Bhatt, which were signed by her. Shetty then transferred Alia Bhatt 77 lakh fraud to her friend's account who reversed the payment in her personal account,' they added. 'The police said that they have arrested Shetty as she had been absconding and constantly changing her location,' sources added.

According to HT, Alia's former assistant was nabbed from Bengaluru almost five months after a complaint was filed against her. The police sources reveal that Vedika allegedly forged Alia's signature to siphon off funds from the production house's accounts to her own over two years. While, as per News18, Shetty was accused of swindling an amount of ₹76,90,892 from Eternal Sunshine, which was launched by Alia Bhatt in 2021, as well as from the 'Gangubai Kathiawadi' actress's accounts between 2023 and 2025. Vedika Prakash Shetty arrested in Bengaluru after five months of search Following the forgery, a complaint was filed against Vedika Prakash Shetty by the actress and her mother, Soni Razdan, in February, under financial misconduct. Actor Alia Bhatt's former personal assistant, Vedika Prakash Shetty, has been arrested by the Mumbai Police for allegedly cheating the actress and embezzling money from her production company's account. According to the police, Vedika, who was arrested in Bengaluru, had been working as a secretary for Alia Bhatt's company, Eternal Sunshine Productions Pvt. Ltd. Due to her position, she was given access to and authority over the office's financial matters. The police said Vedika embezzled more than Rs 76 lakhs from the company's account over a span of two years, from August 2022 to 2024. As per the police, the complaint was filed by Soni Bhatt earlier this year at Mumbai's Juhu Police Station. Based on the complaint, a case was registered against Vedika on January 23, 2025, under sections 316(4) and 318(4) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Meanwhile, on the work front, Alia is busy filming her upcoming movie, Alpha. Directed by Shiv Rawail, the film is scheduled for release on December 25. The fraudulent activity by Vedika Prakash Shetty reportedly involved forged signatures and unauthorised transfers over an extended period. The case came to light when Soni Razdan, Alia Bhatt's mother and a well-known actor herself, filed a complaint in February 2025, citing financial irregularities. An FIR was registered, and investigations were initiated by the Juhu Police. A team from Mumbai Police tracked Vedika Prakash Shetty down to Bengaluru, where she was taken into custody, Hindustan Times reported. Authorities are now examining her bank records and financial transactions to determine the full extent of the alleged fraud.
