Ethan Butler Burg visits Tennessee basketball as Israeli prospect

Tennessee basketball hosted an international guard on a visit as it seeks to potentially fill the final scholarship spot on the 2025-26 roster. Israeli guard Ethan Butler Burg visited UT in late June, according to a source with direct knowledge of the situation. The source requested anonymity because Burg's visit has not been made public. Advertisement Burg is still navigating the NCAA eligibility process to see if playing for Tennessee or any school is a possibility. Burg has played the past two seasons with Bnei PenLink Herzliya in Israel. The 6-foot-3 guard averaged 11 points in the two seasons, shooting 32.9% on 3-pointers. The 23-year-old shot 37.9% on 3-pointers last season, while averaging 11.1 points. Tennessee has 12 players on its roster for the upcoming season. It returns senior forward Felix Okpara, junior forwards Cade Phillips and JP Estrella and sophomore guard Bishop Boswell. The Vols added senior guards Ja'Kobi Gillespie and Amaree Abram along with junior forward Jaylen Carey through the transfer portal.
