National Championship Contender Predicted to Land Longtime USC Target
National Championship Contender Predicted to Land Longtime USC Target originally appeared on Athlon Sports. USC Trojans football lifted itself to 31 total verbal commits for 2026 with wide receiver Ethan "Boobie" Feaster. But the Trojans are losing their grip on a potential 32nd commit. Advertisement One national championship contender is gaining steam in landing four-star interior offensive lineman Breck Kolojay. The same IMG Academy star who visited USC and shares a past connection with five-star USC tight end commit Mark Bowman. Which contender is suddenly looking like the one that'll win the star IOL? The Miami Hurricanes, according to the On3/Rivals Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM). What do USC's own chances now look like per the RPM? Oct 14, 2023; South Bend, Indiana, USA; USC Trojans quarterback Caleb Williams (13) runs the ball in the second quarter against the Notre Dame Fighting Irish at Notre Dame Cashore-USA TODAY Sports The 'Canes now hold a 70.7% chance to win the services of Kolojay. The Trojans, meanwhile, are now given a lowly 2.6% shot at landing the massive 6-foot-5, 320-pounder. Advertisement Kolojay took an official visit to USC back on June 23. On3/Rivals USC insider Scott Schrader mentioned how USC was in a good position along with Miami in pursuing Kolojay. "As of today, this appears to be a USC vs. Miami battle and Kolojay is not in a hurry to make a decision," Schrader wrote following Kolojay's visit. "That's not to say he won't choose a school in the near future, but his decision on a school could come in December." But now Miami head coach Mario Cristobal and his coaching staff appear to be gaining the upper hand over Lincoln Riley and company. Meanwhile, Georgia was one more considered in the mix to land Kolojay per 247Sports. Yet the Bulldogs are running out of room for their 2026 class. Benjamin Wolk of 247Sports, however, isn't writing off USC at the moment. Advertisement "Breck Kolojay's decision is one that's been told to me could extend into the fall. What had long been considered a Georgia-Miami battle added a recruiting rival in the final stages of official visit season when Kolojay went out West to check out USC," Wolk wrote. He added how Kolojay tried recruiting Bowman to Georgia when he was high on the Bulldogs. Wolk has noticed USC's late push for the versatile lineman. Kolojay would also team with IMG Academy tackle teammate Keenyi Pope -- currently the highest rated USC verbal commit. But Miami doesn't look like its wavering from courting Kolojay. The 'Canes hold six OL commits but only one true IOL in JJ Sparks. Miami ranks No. 8 in the team recruiting rankings per 247Sports, and 10th per On3/Rivals. USC Trending Towards Landing Dynamic Talent With 53 Offers
USC Trending Towards Landing Dynamic Talent With 53 Offers originally appeared on Athlon Sports. USC is stretching its relentless offseason to Fourth of July weekend. The Trojans are now trending toward landing a new dynamic talent -- one armed with 53 total scholarship offers. Advertisement USC is the favorite to land wide receiver Ethan "Boobie" Feaster, with Steve Wiltfong and Sam Spiegelman of On3/Rivals picking the Trojans as the favorite. Landing Feaster becomes one more massive coup for head coach Lincoln Riley and the Trojans coaching staff. Feaster himself even teased a possible USC commitment back on June 8. Feaster remains one of the more touted uncommitted prospects heading into the summer. USC is starting to trend upward ahead of his verbal decision. However, there's other powerhouses still at play -- including one heavy favorite from his home state of Texas. Trojans HC Lincoln Riley© Kirby Lee-Imagn Images "Alabama, USC, LSU and Texas A&M are finalists for the four-star pass-catcher and this is shaping up to be the Aggies' to lose," Spiegelman wrote. Advertisement Still, USC isn't wavering per Spiegelman -- which lifts its chances of winning a verbal commitment from him. "LSU was trending at various points with Feaster, who has ties to The Boot, but it's Texas A&M and USC battling until the finish line," Spiegelman added. USC would grab the nation's No. 5 wide receiver if they hold off Texas A&M and the other SEC challengers. Wide receivers coach Chad Savage is running point of Feaster's commitment. Riley and the Trojans would add their fifth wide receiver option for the future. USC will need to eventual replace Makai Lemon and Ja'Kobi Lane -- as both are garnering NFL Draft attention this fall. USC Commit Names Off Two All-Pro Influences Who Helped Sway His Decision
USC Commit Names Off Two All-Pro Influences Who Helped Sway His Decision originally appeared on Athlon Sports. USC fired off some early fireworks before the sun set on the Fourth of July. The Trojans reeled in one of the top uncommitted prospects on Friday in Ethan "Boobie" Feaster. Advertisement Feaster was courted by 53 total universities before choosing USC. Turns out two NFL All-Pro influences helped sway his decision to choose the Trojans. The DeSoto, Texas wide receiver broke down his reasons for choosing USC with Mike Roach of 247Sports after his commitment. He revealed wide receivers coach Chad Savage and head coach Lincoln Riley were a big reason behind opting for USC. But he namedropped two star NFL wide receivers with a connection to both coaches as to why USC was the prime fit. USC Trojans head coach Lincoln Riley Krohn-Imagn Images "I know we're going to throw the ball, and Simmons did put in some greats in the league. He had dealt with (Michael) Crabtree, two-time Biletnikoff winner, the only one to ever do it," Feaster began, referencing the San Francisco 49ers star. Advertisement But he added one more talent who's from the Savage wideout tree. "He did put in CeeDee Lamb [in the NFL]," Feaster said. The speedy wideout added Dede Westbrook as one more talent from Savage. Concluding with "He's had great receivers for a very, very long time." Feaster wasn't just pursued by USC. He had three Southeastern Conference powers attempting to court him in Alabama, LSU and in-state option Texas A&M. The 6-foot-1 target becomes commitment No. 31 to the nation's top-ranked recruiting class. He's also USC's fifth verbal pledge at WR. Though he becomes the highest ranked WR commit for the Trojans. No. 1 Recruiting Class Gets Major 4th of July News
No. 1 Recruiting Class Gets Major 4th of July News originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The USC Trojans already have the No. 1 recruiting class for the 2026 cycle. With 31 commitments, 10 of which appear in On3's top 100 player rankings, coach Lincoln Riley and the Trojans are hitting on all cylinders. Advertisement On Friday, that top class got a whole better with a pledge from four-star wide receiver Ethan "Boobie" Feaster. The DeSoto, Texas, native delivered 57 receptions for 824 yards and 13 touchdowns last season. With more than 50 offers from competing programs, Feaster chose the Trojans over LSU, Texas A&M, Miami and Alabama, where he also took official visits over the last two months. In detailing why USC would be his destination, Feaster spoke on the offense and how he believes he will find success with the Trojans. 'With USC, you know they will have a great quarterback throwing their receivers the call with Lincoln Riley as the head coach,' said Feaster. 'I love the coaching staff, I love the city around it, I love L.A., and it's a great place to be in. And Coach Simmons, that's my guy.' Advertisement DeSoto receiver Ethan 'Boobie' Feaster.© Angela Piazza/Caller-Times / USA TODAY NETWORK via Imagn Images In February, Feaster accelerated his college entry by reclassifying to the Class of 2026. With Feaster, four-stars Trent Mosley, Luc Weaver and Roderick Tezeno, and three-star Ja'Myron Baker, the Trojans now have five receiver commitments in this class. Passing the ball wasn't the issue last season at USC, as the team finished 10th in passing yards by averaging 291.9 yards per game. The Trojans finished with a 145.3 rushing yards per game average, 82nd in the country. That imbalance led to the offense generating 30.2 points per game, ranking 50th. How a new USC recruiting prediction spells potential victory for Oregon Football
A potential domino is about to fall in the wide receiver recruiting world, and it may have some positive ramifications for the Oregon Ducks. On Wednesday morning, On3's Steve Wiltfong logged a prediction for the USC Trojans to land a commitment from 4-star WR Ethan 'Boobie' Feaster, the No. 40 player and No. 4 receiver in the 2026 class. Standing at 6-foot-1, 180 pounds, Feaster is a talented pass-catcher who the Trojans have been trying to land over the likes of Texas A&M and LSU. Advertisement While the pickup for USC would be massive, adding to their No. 1-ranked recruiting class in the 2026 cycle, it could also spell victory for Dan Lanning and the Ducks. How? By potentially taking the Trojans out of the running for 4-star WR Jalen Lott, who the Ducks are recruiting heavily ahead of his July 8 commitment. Lott is rated as the No. 49 player in the nation and the No. 5 ATH in the 2026 class. The Ducks are among Lott's finalists, alongside USC, the Texas Longhorns, LSU Tigers, and Georgia Bulldogs. While USC might still try to land Lott as well, it's fair to think that the 4-star may choose to go elsewhere. Oregon currently holds a slight lead over Texas in the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine, with USC in third place. It will be no means be easy for the Ducks to land him, but should Feaster end up committing to the Trojans, then it may make things slightly easier.
