PANAMA CITY, Fla. (WMBB) – News 13 brings you a segment focused on health and fitness on News 13 Midday every Wednesday called 'Wellness Wednesday'.
This week, Personal Trainer, Traycee Green, from Pure Platinum, was in the studio with News 13's Ethan Logue, showing how to make protein cinnamon rolls for Mother's Day.
Here are the ingredients:
For the dough:
1 1/2 cups of full-fat Greek yogurt
1 1/2 cups self-rising flour
1 scoop (29 grams) of plant-based vanilla protein powder
For the filling:
2 tbs melted butter
1 tbs coconut sugar
1 tsp cinnamon
For the glaze:
1/2 cup of powdered sugar
2 -3 tsp of milk
2 Tbs full-fat Greek yogurt
Here is the recipe:
Heat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. In a bowl, combine yogurt, flour, and protein powder for the dough. Mix the dough until it comes together. Then, knead the dough until it is no longer sticky. Lastly, cover it with a towel and let it rise for 30 minutes.
After letting it sit, roll out the dough and brush it with melted butter. Sprinkle the cinnamon and coconut sugar mix on the dough, then roll up the dough to slice. Place it in an oven and bake for 30 minutes.
For the glaze, whisk powdered sugar, yogurt, and milk and drizzle on top of the rolls after they cool.
