Here's how to vote on Folsom City Zoo's new bear's name
( — The Folsom City Zoo Sanctuary has welcomed a female Eurasian Brown Bear who is in need of a name. The sanctuary learned that Herbie had lived with another bear and attempted to keep them together. However, the facility Herbie came from prevented the two bears from staying together. Now, Herbie has a new companion and the Folsom City Zoo Sanctuary is giving the community the opportunity to name the new Eurasian Brown Bear. The naming contest will also help raise funds that will benefit Herbie and his companion, as well as cover the new bear's intake expenses, officials said. Advocates organizing to support immigrant families All voters have to do is make a minimum donation of $5 to the zoo's annual campaign fund, and then pick their favorite name of the three options. Folsom Zoo Sanctuary asks for public's help in naming its new bear
The Folsom Zoo Sanctuary has taken in a new bear, and the public can now help choose its name. Back in March, the Folsom Zoo welcomed a bear named Herbie after the closure of a different Northern California wildlife facility. Herbie was living with a female bear at the other facility, but for some reason the other handlers wanted the pair to go their separate ways. Circumstances changed, however, and the female bear has since joined Herbie at the Folsom Zoo. Don't miss your chance to help name the zoo sanctuary's newest resident! The zoo's summer hours run Thursday through Sunday, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
