A deep-dive into star Lioness Chloe Kelly's impressive salary

As the nation gears up to cheer on the Lionesses this Sunday in the UEFA European Women's Championship finals – and after her unreal performance during the team's last intense match against Italy – all eyes are firmly on the forward (and newlywed), Chloe Kelly. The highly talented footballer kicked off (sorry) her career with Arsenal's youth club before debuting for the senior team in 2015 and is now one of the most recognised names in the women's branch of the sport. Later hopping over to Everton (initially on loan before making the transfer permanent), Kelly spent four years with the club before joining Manchester City in 2020, further establishing herself as a key player, winning domestic trophies and earning widespread recognition. In 2024, she returned to Arsenal, continuing her impressive footballing journey. Outside of the 'day job', Kelly has seen huge success with the England national team, which she debuted for in 2018 (after graduating the junior teams), and scored the winning goal in the UEFA Women's Euro 2022 final – firmly cementing her status as an icon. But how much is the footballing legend's salary? Given the insane amount of money we know some male players at a similar level take home, it's an interesting one to take a deep-dive into... Here's what we know about Chloe Kelly's salary and net worth. Previously playing for Everton and Manchester City, alongside the England Women's Team, Kelly's most recent move saw her bed in at Arsenal in 2024, (rightfully) increasing her pay along the way. While it has never been confirmed publicly, it's been reported that Kelly earned between £228,915 and £933,500 a year while playing for Manchester City, and it's likely that her move to Arsenal has netted her even more. As for her stint on the England team, the FA says the men's and women's team both receive £2,000 per game. "The FA pays its women's players exactly the same as their male counterparts for representing England, both in terms of match fees and match bonuses. This parity has been in place since January 2020," a spokesperson told The Independent. There are also bonuses up for grabs, which is where the equality reportedly seems to fizzle out... After winning the 2022 Euro's, The Sun claimed that each Lioness bagged a £55,000 bonus, but other reports suggest the men's team (who also reached the final but did not win in the 2020 Euros) took home £300,000 per person. Taking on board the above, along with the fact that she's worked with some seriously big name brands along the way, it's estimated that Chloe Kelly's net worth is between £2.3 million and £5 million. Some of her biggest endorsements include Land Rover, Calvin Klein and Nike (we bet the brand loved her iconic moment of whipping her top off and revealing a Nike sports bra while celebrating scoring the winning goal during the Euros 2022 – despite it earning her a yellow card). In August 2022, the Mail on Sunday reported that Kelly's Land Rover deal alone was worth £2 million. So basically, it sounds like she's doing pretty darn well for herself! This Morning's Alison Hammond couldn't hold back her emotions on Friday's show as she spoke about the progress of women's football. During a heartwarming segment, ITV's bubbly presenter chatted with Kate Lawler, who was live from a football ground, gearing up for the Women's European Championship due to start next week. ‌ As the discussion wound down, Kate proudly displayed her footballing skills and reminisced about her childhood dreams of becoming a footballer. ‌ Alison replied: "You know what is so lovely? It actually makes me a little bit emotional because of how far women's football has come. "It's actually beautiful to see. It makes me so happy, it really does. It's unbelievable, I just want them to be paid the same. I wish." Throughout the broadcast, Kate had the chance to speak to two England Lioness legends, admitting she felt "star-struck" during the encounter, reports Wales Online. Janet Bagguley, a member of the 1972 squad who now works as a postwoman, showcased her 12 treasured caps, stating: "I'm very, very proud." 88 goals and counting: Romelu Lukaku closing in on footballing immortality

With every year that passes, Romelu Lukaku continues to build a lead at the top of the scoring charts for Belgian international players. While big Rom has been maligned at times by fans of certain club teams, there is no doubt that, at the international level, he is one of the greatest strikers of his generation. Not many players get to 88 goals for their country, and even if they do, very few do it in just 122 games. Last night, it was Lukaku who saved Belgium. The striker grab two more goals to help his side overcome a first leg deficit in the Nations League clash with Ukraine. It is now just a matter of when, not if, Lukaku hits 100 goals for his country. Only three other players have done that, and two of them are names that should be put in the greatest of all time category. Lukaku would join Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo and the Iranian legend Ali Daei. What makes Lukaku's numbers impressive is that he has also scored at major tournaments, not just in qualifying against sometimes smaller nations. Desipte being injured for the 2022 World Cup and struggling for form, he still has five goals in 12 games. At the Euro's, he has six goals in 14 games. When he finally hangs up his boots, Lukaku will be a legend of Belgian football. When he surpasses 100 goals, he will have to be considered a legend of international football as well.
