European Council extends EUBAM in Libya for two years
The European Council has extended the mandate of the European Border and Coast Guard Assistance Mission in Libya (EUBAM) for an additional two years, until June 30, 2027.
A statement from the European Union Delegation to Libya explained that the European Border Assistance Mission in Libya contributes to strengthening the capacity of the Libyan authorities to manage Libya's borders, combat cross-border crime, including human trafficking and migrant smuggling, and combat terrorism.
According to the statement, the civilian mission provides technical advice, conducts operational and technical capacity building activities, and implements projects, complemented by specialized training courses and workshops.
