RTE star says nixers outside of station was 'probably getting a bit out of hand'
Ex-2FM host Jennifer Zamparelli has said some RTE stars doing nixers outside of the station was 'probably getting a bit out of hand'. Jennifer left 2FM after 10 years in May 2024. Her departure shocked fans with many believing that talent was exiting 2FM because of new rules announced by RTÉ, which meant presenters would have to seek approval to work on external activities. But the Dubliner said that had nothing to do with her leaving. 'Sure I never did a lot,' she said of the sponsored content and other none-RTÉ work. Speaking about how she felt about the new rules, the Dancing With The Stars co-host said: 'I knew it would iron itself out. I knew that the right thing would be done in the end, whatever that was, and yes, we should always have to go and ask for permission for what we have to do, a conflict of interest and all this kind of stuff, absolutely.' 'And it was probably getting out of hand a little bit. There was no rule book. But I left on really good terms. I actually had lunch with my old team last week. And I miss it so much. 'But I don't have any regrets. It was the right thing to do. And I did 10 years in 2FM. And it was just the time to go,' she told the Sunday Independent's Life magazine. Jennifer is set to take over Dave Moore's Today FM radio show this week alongside Brian Dowling, while Moore takes annual leave. Jennifer jokingly described the new gig as 'going over to the dark side.' She continued: 'But it's going to be fine. There's enough listeners for all of us. Everybody. We all have lovely bottoms and all that. I'm excited to go in and do that for a bit.' 'And because I've never worked in that organisation. I'm doing seven shows in total. I can't do any more.' But when asked if they offered her a full-time gig, would she take it, she confessed: 'Ah, listen, right now? No. I don't think so. I don't think I'm in that head space.'

Jennifer Zamparelli posts gushing tribute to husband Lau on wedding anniversary
Ex-2FM star Jennifer Zamparelli has shared a gushing message to her husband Lau on their 11-year wedding anniversary. The Dancing with the Stars host shared photos of the pair throughout the years, including a throwback snap from their wedding day. The couple tied the knot in 2014 in an intimate ceremony at Castle Leslie, surrounded by 70 guests. Sharing the photos, Jennifer wrote: "Happy Anniversary @zampers1 ! "11 years married!! 2 kids and a dog later. We made it?? Nearly there? Anytime time?? "19 years together though … Here's to many more years of laughter, fighting over making the bed and spending time with the best." Concluding her post, she wrote: "(Don't even think of doing a pity post for me and if so I need to vet every pic )." The comments were flooded with sweet messages, with one person writing: "Happy Anniversary you guys." "So much joy. Congratulations," another gushed. A third said: "Happy anniversary you are gorgeous." "Ah lovely, happy anniversary to you both, hope you do something really nice," another wrote. The anniversary comes as Jennifer is set to make her return to radio this month, as she will be filling in for Dave Moore on Today FM. The broadcaster stepped back from her 2FM morning show in May last year, around the same time as a number of other big names at the station - but now fans will be able to tune into her on the airwaves again. Brian Dowling will be covering Dave Moore on Today FM from Monday June 30 to Friday July 4 and Jennifer Zamparelli will be taking over from Monday July 7 to Tuesday July 15, with Dave Moore returning from Stateside and back into his spot on Wednesday July 16 . Jennifer shared her excitement on social media, as she wrote: "So DELIGHTED to get back on air and give @davetodayfm a lil break !! He's off on his holidays (I know the cheek) and myself and @bprdowling will take a week each and hopefully take care of Dave's lovely listeners while he has a much deserved break!! "Really hope you tune in .. it's gonna be a lot of fun." Brian has also shared that he is looking forward to his radio return, after leaving the show he previously presented with Suzanne Kane at 98FM earlier this month.

Jennifer Zamparelli gives shock answer about taking over Liveline hosting duties
Ex-2FM star Jennifer Zamparelli has said she has "absolutely no interest" in taking over Liveline. On Friday, RTE star Joe Duffy will retire from the national broadcaster after 37 years. He hosted Liveline for 27 years. RTE has yet to announce who will take over from Mr Duffy, but Jennifer is one of the many names that have been suggested for the slot. But she said she has "no interest" in hosting the show. She said: "Absolutely not. No interest, no," when asked about the speculation by Oliver Callan on his RTE Radio One show. She previously told us in May that she would be "mad" to not consider the job. The mum-of-two, who quit 2FM in May 2024, said: "I don't know. I'm too busy on holiday. I haven't got any calls. I've been getting many calls, but not from, not from that department as of yet. "But who knows? I think you'd be mad not to consider, you'd be so scared to take on that role. But you'd need full approval by Joe. Otherwise, you wouldn't have a chance in hell." But she questioned at the time if Liveline could go on without Mr Duffy. "I don't know if Liveline can go on without him, that's the thing. "You know, there's a new head of audio, and they're great for shaking things up,' said the Dubliner. On Friday, Mr Duffy will bid farewell to the iconic phone-in show with tributes from a host of special guests. Announcing the news that he was set to retire, he said: "First of all, it has been — and I mean this from the bottom of my heart, an incredible honour and a privilege to be part of a programme that relied almost entirely on trust, the trust of our listeners. "Listeners felt they could pick up the phone, ring Liveline, share their lives, their stories; sad, bad, sometimes mad and funny, their struggles and their victories. "I never took that for granted. Not for a single minute."

Jennifer Zamparelli lands role alongside Australian heartthrob Jason Donovan
Ex-2FM star Jennifer Zamparelli is set to return to the stage as she lands a role in The Rocky Horror Show. The hit musical returns to the Bord Gáis Energy Theatre in Dublin in August. The Dancing with the Stars presenter will take on the role of the narrator for the show's run from 11 to 16 August 2025. She will join Jason Donovan, who reprises his role as Frank N' Furter following a successful tour in Australia. Zamparelli and Donovan previously shared the stage in the 2013 Dublin production of Priscilla Queen of the Desert in 2013. Speaking about the role, Zamparelli said: "I'm absolutely thrilled to be taking on the role of the Narrator in the iconic musical The Rocky Horror Show when it comes to Dublin in August. It's always been a favourite of mine. "It's sexy, outrageously funny and it's going to be so much fun working with such a brilliant cast, including my old pal – the legend that is Jason Donovan." The mum-of-two previously admitted she "had better" when she kissed Australian heartthrob Donovan on stage in 2013. She told us previously: "Jason is amazing. He's not bad. I've had better. I can't believe the stamina that man has because the show is all singing and all dancing. I don't know how they did it. I only did two weeks." Jennifer also told us at the time how her "first love is stage" – and it is how she met her now husband Lau. "Because my first love is the stage, and I've always had a love for the stage. Sure that is how I met Lau. I directed a play. I had a theatre company in Bristol, and I directed him in a play. That's how we met. "That all got pushed to the side so when it came about, I absolutely went for it. "But it was just phenomenal what they do. I'm just in awe of them. To do something like this and to be asked to host the 2025 launch is great." Directed by Christopher Luscombe, The Rocky Horror Show has been seen by over 35 million people worldwide and features classics such as Sweet Transvestite, Dammit Janet and The Time Warp. Tickets for The Rocky Horror Show are on sale now, with prices starting from €35. For more information, visit
