JA on F1 podcast: Christian Horner sacked from Red Bull

During 20 years in charge of Red Bull, Christian Horner won eight drivers' championships, six constructors' titles and took 124 grand prix wins. But after some key departures and the poor performance of the car this season, the team has dropped Horner. His role will be taken by (now) former Racing Bulls team principal Laurent Mekies, who in turn will be replaced by Alan Permane, who will step up from the racing director role at Racing Bulls. Advertisement Listen here as we get into the background to the sacking, what role Max Verstappen and his father may have played and what it means for Ferrari, which may well move for the 51-year-old Horner to replace Fred Vasseur, whose contract expires at the end of this season. To analyse the news, James Allen is joined in the studio by our correspondents Ronald Vording from Netherlands, Christian Nimmervoll from Austria and editor-in-chief Ben Hunt.
