Barcelona plan to finalise two new signings next week

Barcelona have been busy in the transfer market over the last few weeks, with the possibility of three signings being finalised by next week. Joan Garcia has already joined, and with a deal for Nico Williams expected to be done on the 1st or 2nd of July, that would be two in the door already. And joining them would also be Roony Bardghji. Earlier this week, it was reported that Barcelona had agreed a deal with FC Kobenhavn to sign Bardghji. It is believed that a fee of €2-3m will be paid for the Swedish winger, whose contract in Denmark is due to expire in December. Barcelona have schedule Roony Bardghi medical Barcelona appear to have beaten FC Porto in the race to sign Bardghji, who will operate between the first team and Barca Atletic during his first few months in Catalonia. And according to Fabrizio Romano, a deal should be finalised next week upon the 19-year-old completing a medical. Image via DAZN Advertisement Bardghji had been one of Europe's most promising wingers as early as 2024, but an ACL tear has stunted his development. But Barcelona still believe in his potential, and they think it can be fulfilled in Catalonia under the stewardship of Hansi Flick. Bardghji predominantly plays as a right winger, so he would be competing with Lamine Yamal and Raphinha for that spot when the time comes for him to be promoted to the first team. But there will be chances for him to impress depending on his form with Barca Atletic, who will be playing in the fourth tier of Spanish football next season. Barcelona are expected to announce Bardghji's arrival at some stage in July, but a deal will be complete next week. And given his expected role, he could make his debut during the club's pre-season tour of Asia, which kicks off in mid-July.

FC Barcelona has been given a leave or stay ultimatum by previously 'untouchable' star Marc-Andre ter Stegen according to SPORT, which cited anonymous sources. Reports started spreading that the German would be forced out of the club before Joan Garcia had even been landed by the Blaugrana. Ahead of the Catalans paying the Espanyol academy product's $29.3 million (€25 million), it was reported that Ter Stegen would be put for sale as he would become surplus to requirements. Probed on his potential departure when facing the press ahead of international duty with Germany, Ter Stegen claimed ignorance. 'No one has told me about this, so I don't know the situation,' Ter Stegen stated. 'I'm not worried. I know that I will be at Barcelona next season.' 'If I remember correctly, and if no news has happened in the last few hours, we only have two goalkeepers for next season, Inaki [Pena] Amid Deco saying that he doesn't need to talk to Ter Stegen to explain team planning to the captain, and reports that the shotstopper and head coach Hansi Flick will talk before preseason starts on July 13, SPORT says that Ter Stegen has given the club an ultimatum that will determine whether he moves on or sees out his contract which expires on June 30, 2028. In short, if that contract is going to be rescinded, Ter Stegen wants the full money, three years' worth paid to him in full or he will otherwise stick around and become a headache for Sporting Director Deco and President Joan Laporta. With his anger described as 'huge', Ter Stegen reportedly feels 'betrayed' by his club of 11 years, with whom he won the Champions League in his first season, and therefore won't make it easy to get shut of him. FC Barcelona is trying to move on from the Ter Stegen era With Garcia already announced, FC Barcelona is trying to move on from the Ter Stegen era and offload him amid interest from Saudi Arabia and Turkey. Once 'untouchable', the 33-year-old is no longer wanted as Garcia is gradually expected to become first choice goalkeeper and a full Spain international.

Players forced to give up vacation to play Club World Cup, says Raphinha

FILE PHOTO: Soccer Football - Champions League - Semi Final - Second Leg - Inter Milan v FC Barcelona - San Siro, Milan, Italy - May 6, 2025 FC Barcelona's Raphinha looks dejected after the match REUTERS/Daniele Mascolo/File Photo Brazil's Barcelona forward Raphinha regretted that the players were not consulted about extending their season to play at the Club World Cup, adding that nobody should be obliged to give up their vacation time. The first expanded edition of the Club World Cup started on June 14 and will run until July 13. The competition followed the European league season which concluded in late May and an international window at the beginning of June. "Speaking particularly as someone who plays for a European team, we would (currently) be on vacation," Raphinha said. "Marquinhos and Beraldo, from Paris St Germain, won the Champions League and didn't even get to celebrate properly. They came to the national team and then went to the Club World Cup. They still haven't stopped. "Many say that this is an excuse. It may or may not be, but having to give up our vacations out of obligation is very complicated. It's our right. Everyone deserves at least a month of vacation. And many of them won't get it." Most of the major European leagues will be back in action in mid to late August, with the pre-seasons starting early in the month. "If PSG reach the Club World Cup final, they will have the Super Cup right away. It doesn't stop," Raphinha added. "It depends on your point of view. From my point of view, it's very bad to give up your vacation to play something that you are forced to do. At no point did they ask the players if they wanted to. "It (should be) up to us to accept it. Having to give up your vacation to play in a new tournament is very complicated." PSG will face Tottenham Hotspur for the Super Cup on August 13.
