Nebraska basketball player Leo Curtis closes out FIBA U20 EuroBasket Tournament
The FIBA U20 EuroBasket Championship in Heraklion, Greece, concluded on Sunday, and with it a great run by Nebraska's incoming freshman Leo Curtis. He put together one final strong performance for his home country of Iceland in their 63-56 loss to Germany.
Curtis scored 12 points, shooting 6-of-16 from the floor, and secured eight rebounds. He scored all 12 points in the paint, half of them coming in the fourth.
Though Iceland entered the final quarter up 42-38, Germany outscored them 25-14 in the fourth to take the win. With the loss, Iceland concluded the tournament with a 2-5 record.
Through seven games, Curtis led Iceland in points per game (14.6), rebounds per game (8.1), and blocks per game (2.7). Across all 16 teams, he led the tournament in blocks per game and finished 11th in points per game and third in rebounds per game.
