Mohi had been staying in a natural cave surrounded by thick woods, steep hills, and zero contact with civilisation. Just her, her two children—six-year-old Preya and four-year-old Ama—and a Rudra idol. According to police, she spent her days in puja, meditation, and spiritual silence, seemingly unaffected by the chaos of the outside world. Her mission? Inner peace. Her food source? Still a mystery.

What blew her cover?
The police only discovered Mohi thanks to a saree and some other clothes casually fluttering outside the cave, spotted during a post-landslide patrol. Circle Inspector Sridhar and his team followed the fabric trail and found the makeshift spiritual setup, complete with children and a cave-home vibe worthy of an Instagram reel.

Superintendent of Police M. Narayana told PTI that officers were genuinely shocked she had survived there with two kids, given the terrain and recent weather conditions. More shocking? Her visa had expired in 2017. She was basically a spiritual ghost, hiding in plain sight for years.
From forest floors to ashram doors
Turns out, Mohi's journey to enlightenment began on a business visa years ago. She wandered from Russia to Goa and finally to the sacred coastal town of Gokarna, drawn by Hinduism and its promise of peace. Unfortunately, immigration rules did not align with her spiritual timeline.
