Jeremy Clarkson's pub has visitors 'floored' over cost of grub and a pint

A woman has taken to social media to share her experience of dining at Jeremy Clarkson's pub, The Farmer's Dog, and while she gave the food a glowing review, the prices sparked debate. One visit to Jeremy Clarkson 's pub, The Farmer's Dog, has sparked a flurry of discussion among people over the cost of its menu. Amy Robinson, 20, made the journey to what Clarkson describes as a "proper British" pub. She also documented her dining experience on TikTok, giving the grub a flawless "10/10" whilst praising its exceptional taste. However the clip, which has racked up more than 50,000 views, also drew attention to the hefty cost of eating at the venue. ‌ The Farmer's Dog, situated in Asthall near Burford in Oxfordshire is a property the former Top Gear host secured for less than £1 million, formerly called The Windmill, as reported by the Mirror. ‌ Amy's review featured the pub's al fresco dining area and the elegantly presented dishes, though viewers were quick to note the pricing as they quizzed her on it. "Fancy sausage and mash was around the £20.00 mark. Drinks were around £7.00." However, one person came to the defence, observing: "You must be from Oxfordshire like me. We thought prices were normal, but people who had travelled were having a fit." Whilst certain customers considered the charges to be what some people would"expect" at a countryside pub, views among many on social media remained split. ‌ One voiced their astonishment, declaring: "The prices are insane." The website indicates that meal prices vary, with a steak pie commanding £24.00 and a gammon steak at £22.00. Drinkers may find themselves paying around £6.75 for a pint, though this price can fluctuate depending on the drink selected. While some consider the menu prices to be on the higher side, others believe the culinary experience is "worth every penny." ‌ One satisfied diner commented: "Great place, great staff, great atmosphere, great food." A different customer recounted their positive experience, adding "Had a Sunday roast here recently with my family. Food is 100% - all products locally sourced. I will be returning." Echoing the feedback, someone else added: "It's amazing here. I've been three times now." Jeremy Clarkson, known for his agricultural pursuits in Amazon Prime series Clarkson's Farm, has also taken a foray into the pub business with The Farmer's Dog. This new venture is featured in Season 4 of his Amazon Prime reality series, where the ex-Top Gear presenter takes on "his most ambitious project yet." The series offers an inside look at Clarkson's latest challenge as he acquires a pub to realise his Farm to Fork restaurant dream, with the official synopsis stating: "Jeremy is taking on his most ambitious project yet, setting out to buy a pub that will reignite his Farm to Fork restaurant vision. "But the road to becoming a landlord isn't exactly straightforward, and with new faces, new livestock and new machinery arriving at the farm, life at Diddly Squat is busier than ever."

The former Top Gear host's pub, The Farmer's Dog, has become a popular tourist destination for fans of his TV show, Clarkson's Farm - but it seems some people are less than impressed with the price A young woman's trip to Jeremy Clarkson 's pub, The Farmer's Dog, has sparked a debate among Brits over the prices for its fare. Amy Robinson, 20, ventured to the "proper British" boozer, as Clarkson calls it, and shared her culinary experience on TikTok, rating the food a perfect "10/10" and praising its deliciousness. However, her video, which has racked up over 50,000 views, also highlighted the cost of dining at the establishment located in Asthall, near Burford, Oxfordshire – a venue Clarkson snapped up for under £1 million, previously known as The Windmill. Amy's glowing review showcased the pub's outdoor dining space and the artfully plated meals, but viewers were quick to grill her about the prices. ‌ In response to their queries, she disclosed: "I had sausage of the day and it was £21.00." Another chimed in with their own experience, adding: "It's on their website. We went there and I think a pie was like £24.00. ‌ "Fancy sausage and mash was around the £20.00 mark. Drinks were around £7.00." Meanwhile, a man defended the pricing, remarking: "You must be from Oxfordshire like me. We thought prices were normal, but people who had travelled were having a fit." Warning: Please note that the below video may contain offensive language ‌ While some punters found the prices to be what you'd "expect" in a rural pub, opinions were split. One expressed their shock, saying: "The prices are insane." The website details that the cost depends on your choice of dish, with a steak pie fetching £24.00 and a gammon steak costing £22.00. As for drinks, drinkers might spend approximately £6.75 per pint, but this could vary based on the tipple chosen. ‌ Some considered the menu particularly steep, yet there were those who felt the cuisine was totally "worth every penny." One contented guest remarked: "Great place, great staff, great atmosphere, great food." Another customer shared: "Had a Sunday roast here recently with my family. Food is 100% - all products locally sourced. I will be returning." Adding to the positive reviews, another said: "It's amazing here. I've been three times now." ‌ Alongside his endeavours in agriculture depicted in the highly acclaimed Amazon Prime series Clarkson's Farm, Jeremy Clarkson has also ventured into pub ownership with The Farmer's Dog establishment. His latest pub endeavour forms part of Season 4 of his Amazon Prime reality show, where the former Top Gear frontman embarks on "his most ambitious project yet." The show promises viewers insights into Clarkson's challenge as he purchases a pub to complement his Farm to Fork restaurant ambition, according to the official summary, which reads: "Jeremy is taking on his most ambitious project yet, setting out to buy a pub that will reignite his Farm to Fork restaurant vision. "But the road to becoming a landlord isn't exactly straightforward, and with new faces, new livestock and new machinery arriving at the farm, life at Diddly Squat is busier than ever." As viewers have binged on the latest episodes since May, devotees of the former Top Gear presenter have been making pilgrimages to his public house, which first opened in August back last year. At the time of the launch, he shared his motives with journalists, saying: "We wanted to have that restaurant on the farm last year and we couldn't, and pubs, they are all for sale. So, we thought instead of building a restaurant we would buy a pub."

Jeremy Clarkson's partner Lisa Hogan has children of her own

Lisa Hogan, the girlfriend of Jeremy Clarkson, has been leading the charge at the Diddly Squat Farm Shop featured in Clarkson's Farm. The pair first crossed paths in 2017 when they were introduced at a social gathering. As fans eagerly await the fourth series of the popular show, they can look forward to seeing Jeremy managing the farm solo as Lisa takes the reins of a new product line. The synopsis reveals: "Thwarted in his attempts to open a Farm to Fork restaurant, Jeremy plans to reignite that vision and get back in the council's good books by drawing crowds away from the farm shop. All he needs to do is buy a pub. "However, the road to becoming a pub landlord isn't straightforward either. Jeremy faces obstacles including derelict buildings, red tape and a picnic site with a colourful past. Cheerful Charlie lends a hand, but even he isn't prepared for the challenges that arise once Jeremy finds his perfect pub." Lisa has won over fans with her sharp wit and decisive actions, and viewers are eager to learn more about her life away from the cameras. Lisa met Jeremy after ending a long-term marriage which lasted for 30 years. The 51 year old star, originally from Dublin, was previously married to Baron Steven Bentinck, with their relationship ending in 2011. During their time together, they had three children, including Elizabeth Mary Wilhelmina Bentick, affectionately known as Lizzy. The ages of her other two children, Wolfe and Alice, remain under wraps. Lisa shared a poignant moment about her son Wolfe, who was distressed thinking he had "killed" Jeremy by passing on Covid to him. In a candid chat on Loose Women back in 2021, Lisa recounted the ordeal: "It was awful. My son brought it down for Christmas and he thought, 'Oh my god I'm going to kill Jeremy'." She light-heartedly added, "And I said, 'Some people will thank you!'" TV lovers can get 30 days' free access to binge great shows like Clarkson's Farm by signing up to Amazon Prime. Just remember to cancel at the end and you won't be charged. £0 Jeremy, too, has three children from his second marriage, and Lisa spoke openly about blending their families. She reminisced about their first holiday together with the kids, saying: "When we went on our first holiday after we met, we took the kids. "They all got on, one was shy starting off and then I was like, 'Get in the pool, no shyness!'" Jeremy's children with Frances Cain, whom he divorced in 2014, are Emily, Finlo, and Katya. Lisa and Jeremy themselves have not had children together and don't seem to be planning a wedding anytime soon. It seems Lisa's children often visit Diddly Squat Farm, as evidenced in season two of Clarkson's Farm. Jeremy was tasked with moving a car that was causing an obstruction, only to reveal it belonged to Lisa's daughter. Unfortunately, his attempt to move the vehicle resulted in some damage, leading to some playful doubts about his driving prowess. Clarkson's Farm season 4 is set to premiere on Amazon Prime Video on May 23.
