Hema Malini was set to marry this man secretly despite being in a relationship with Dharmendra, wedding was stopped at last minute after Sholay actor…

Dharmendra and Hema Malini's relationship always captured the public glare. The two had a controversial affair which made headlines. Dharmendra tied the knot when the actor was already married and had two kids. However, do you know that Dharmendra and Hema Malini's love story was not just theirs? It was a love triangle. Yes, the story behind the love triangle is that since Dharmendra was already a married man, Hema's parents were never in favour of their relationship. They tried every possible attempt to get Hema away from Dharmendra. In the same scenario, Hema Malini's wedding was fixed with a Bollywood superstar of that time. Hema's parents wanted her to marry Jeetendra. During this time, Jeetendra was already dating his childhood friend and cabin crew Shobha Sippy, and he knew that Hema had affection for Dharmendra. Despite knowing all this, Jeetendra said yes to the proposal. According to a report in Indian Express, a close friend of Jeetendra has mentioned this incident in Ram Kamal Mukherjee's book Beyond the Dream Girl. As per the book, Jeetendra never wanted to marry Hema, but it was because of his family that he said yes. The families fixed Hema and Jeetendra's wedding in a temple in Chennai. However, things went haywire when Dharmendra got to know about the secret wedding. Without any delay, he reached Chennai and hindered the wedding. Drunk, Dharmendra created a huge ruckus, and Hema's father lost his cool. He told the actor, 'You are married, get out of my daughter's life.' However, Dharmendra flatly refused to go; rather, he asked for permission to talk to Hema Malini alone. Hema's father allowed her to talk to Dharmendra alone for some time. After this, when Hema came back after talking to Dharmendra, she asked her father for some time to get married. This made Jeetendra's family extremely angry. Out of rage, the Farz actor's parents asked Hema to answer a yes or no about the wedding. Under pressure, Hema flatly refused. Upon hearing this, Jeetu's family left in anger. After this entire controversy, Dharmendra did not marry Hema on the same day, but they got married in 1980. After marriage, Hema gave birth to two lovely daughters – Esha Deol and Ahana Deol.

Tusshar Kapoor Reveals Father Jeetendra Has No Plans To Return To Acting: "He Is Done With It"

Mumbai: Actor Jeetendra, one of the top stars of the 1960s and 70s, has no plans to be back on the screen, says son Tusshar Kapoor. Jeetendra gave hits like "Geet Gaya Patharon Ne", "Gunahon Ka Devta", "Farz", "Humjoli" to "Caravan", "Dharam Veer", "Parichay" and "Nagin". He continued to be in top form till the '80s with credits like "Himmatwala", "Tohfa" and "Mawaali", but stopped acting by the mid-1990s and has since made only cameo or minor appearances in films post-2000. Kapoor said his father has no desire of being on a film set ever again. 'He tracks today's cinema. But he's not really interested in going on sets. He said, 'I've done somewhere 200 films'. He started so young, when he was just 20. So, he's done with that. I don't think he was ever interested in doing character roles," the actor told PTI. Kapoor said when his father called it quits on acting, he and many other senior actors were being offered only "stereotypical" roles. "The roles that were offered to senior actors were very stereotypical. Today, there are a lot of very diverse characters. But that wasn't the case back then. He decided to ease out of it. Now, he's more of a businessman," he added. Kapoor hopes his father's legacy is explored through a docudrama series. And not just Jeetendra, a project honouring Dharmendra's career should also be made. "I think dad deserves one, actors like Dharam ji and him, they don't really go out and market themselves," he said, giving the example of "Elvis", the 2022 biographical film about legendary musician Elvis Presley. "Our legends here also deserve that kind of a tribute. That generation of actors, they have such great work, we've learned from those experiences of theirs. So, I think it will be very 'masaledar' to have a docudrama of either of these icons from the 60s,' he said. The actor currently stars in the movie 'Kapkapiii', which was released in theatres on May 23.

Many Bollywood actors came from a very humble background and slowly rose to fame. These actors have always been the inspiration for those who aim to be a star in Bollywood, but their situations pull them back. Today, we will discuss about an actor who once witnessed extreme poverty and then his life changed after entering the Indian cinema. With his grit, resilience and power-packed performances, he won hearts of fans. However, his fate had something else stored for him. This actor whom we are discussing witnessed struggles even after entering the Indian cinema. However, after a certain point of time, he established himself as a known face in the industry. Now, it has been more than 5 decades of him being a part of the cinema and during this tenure, he did over 200 movies. If you are unable to take cues and wondering who this actor is, then let us tell you we are talking about the legendary Jeetendra. Jeetendra made his acting debut in the 1964 Hindi film Geet Gaya Patharon Ne. However, the film turned out to be a huge flop. His major breakthrough in Bollywood came with the film Farz (1967). Over the years, he did many films and was even compared with leading actors such as Raj Kapoor, Dev Anand, Dilip Kumar, Rajesh Khanna, Manoj Kumar and Dharmendra. In an interview, Jeetendra said that he acted in movies to overcome his financial crisis. In the initial days, media reports claim that the actor lived in slums, had no money, no food and yet he did not give up. Jeetendra's life turned when he ventured into production. In 1982, he produced Deedar-e-Yaar. However, it failed at the box office. As a result, the actor faced massive financial loss. After this, Jeetendra did not produce a single film for 25 years. He handed over the production work to his daughters Ekta Kapoor and Shobha Kapoor. Out of these, Ekta is the most successful TV producer and she mostly produces serials. She also produced various web series.
