Parents hailed as heroes after rescuing child from burning Dannhauser home

A house was gutted and family members had to be treated medically after a fire broke out at a home in Emafusini, Dannhauser, last Tuesday evening. Community spokesperson Farzanah Dookie (of the Helping Hands organisation) said that the family had lost everything in the blaze. The parents bravely saved their child from the blaze, but the house was destroyed, leaving them with nothing. 'We're reaching out for your kindness and generosity to provide essential items like food, blankets and medicines. 'Your donation can help us rebuild this family's life. Let's come together to offer hope and support in their time of need! 'Please consider contributing and sharing this post to spread the word. Every bit will help.' Farzanah can be contacted on 060 762 8423. The fire, believed to have started after a stove was left on overnight, destroyed the home before the fire brigade could arrive. It was only this week that Dannhauser Municipality announced the arrival of a new, high-performance, robust fire-fighting bush pumper. The equipment includes a 2000-litre water tank, 100-litre foam tank and a centrifugal pump. Hope is that the new equipment will help the municipality to respond effectively to fires during winter when authorities are on high alert.
