Vin Diesel teases Paul Walker return in Fast and Furious 11 with April 2027 release date

Vin Diesel has announced that the final installment of the Fast & Furious franchise is slated for release in April 2027. During a surprise appearance at Fuel Fest, a car enthusiast event in Pomona, California, Diesel shared new details about Fast & Furious 11, appearing alongside co-stars Tyrese Gibson and Cody Walker. Diesel told fans that he agreed to Universal's proposed release date under three specific conditions: returning the story to Los Angeles, reviving the franchise's street racing roots, and reuniting Dominic Toretto with Brian O'Conner, the late Paul Walker's iconic character. Walker, who died in a 2013 car crash, portrayed O'Conner from the franchise's inception. Any return for the character would likely rely on digital effects or archival footage, similar to how Furious 7 handled his emotional sendoff using body doubles and CGI. Fast X, the tenth main entry in the franchise, debuted in May 2023 and grossed over $700 million globally, despite a production budget of $340 million. The film featured Jason Momoa, Michelle Rodriguez, Alan Ritchson, Rita Moreno, and Brie Larson. It ended on a cliffhanger, originally marketed as the first part of a two-part finale. It remains unclear whether Fast 11 will directly continue that storyline or branch into new territory. However, Diesel's comments suggest the film will focus on emotional closure and a nostalgic return to the series' early themes. The studio has yet to confirm how O'Conner's reappearance will be executed, but the promise of his reunion with Dom is already generating major anticipation among fans as the franchise approaches its final lap.

Apple's ‘F1: The Movie' roars to top of US, Canada box office

LOS ANGELES — Apple's high-octane racing film "F1: The Movie" roared to the top of the US and Canadian box office this weekend, fueled by star-power and a finely-tuned marketing campaign, according to Comscore. The movie, which stars Brad Pitt as a Formula 1 racer who returns to the track after an accident nearly ends his career, brought in $55.6 million in ticket sales in the two countries. That tally edged past the $45 million to $55 million pre-weekend domestic forecast from the Boxoffice Company. Worldwide receipts topped $88 million, propelled by the sport's strong fan base in Europe and Latin America. Racing films typically sputter in theaters, according to Daniel Loria, senior vice president of the Boxoffice Company, a theatrical ecommerce and data services firm. The most successful of the genre, the widely acclaimed "Ford v Ferrari," opened to a modest $31 million in November 2019. "We haven't had that many movies about car racing that have broken through," Loria said. One notable outlier is the "Fast & Furious" action series that expanded beyond its street racing roots to include heists, espionage and an improbable moon shot. "F1" had several factors weighing in its favor, helping to broaden its appeal beyond racing enthusiasts. The film's director, Joseph Kosinski, brought the same high-intensity cinematic treatment of Formula 1 racing that he lent to the fighter jet sequences in his 2022 movie, "Top Gun: Maverick." Moviegoers who were polled by CinemaScore gave F1 an A rating, signaling their approval. Netflix's "Formula 1: Drive to Survive" series helped fuel the popularity of Formula 1 racing, particularly in the US. Apple also put marketing muscle behind its movie, an Apple Original Filmsproduction that Variety reported cost in excess of $200 million to make. The tech giant touted "F1" during CEO Tim Cook's keynote address at this year's Worldwide Developers Conference, and offered a movie discount to iPhone users. Apple Music also amplified the film's soundtrack. Warner Bros, which marketed and distributed the movie, developed a bespoke campaign that emphasized the participation of Formula 1 world champion Lewis Hamilton in Europe and Latin America, while focusing on Pitt in the US. "It's very much like a perfectly coordinated pit crew in a race," said Paul Dergarabedian, senior media analyst with Comscore, an information and analytics company. "They shot this thing off the starting line with great success." "F1" represents the biggest opening weekend for Apple, whose previous cinematic efforts, such as director Martin Scorsese's "Killers of the Flower Moon," garnered critical acclaim but achieved modest results at the box office. "The film's outstanding debut reflects both the excitement of Formula 1 and the deeply emotional and entertaining story crafted by the entire cast and creative team," Zack Van Amburg, Apple's head of worldwide video, said in a statement. — Reuters

Roman Reigns As Akuma In Street Fighter? How WWEs Star Is Taking Over Hollywood

WWE Superstar Roman Reigns, known worldwide as the "Tribal Chief," has slowly but surely made his way into Hollywood. While he's best known for dominating the wrestling ring, Reigns is now turning heads with his on-screen presence in films. With a blend of charisma, physique, and performance skills, Roman Reigns is carving out a space for himself in the film industry. From cameos to potential blockbuster roles, here are his top 3 roles in Hollywood so far. 1. Hobbs & Shaw (2019) – Mateo Hobbs Roman Reigns made his big-screen debut in the Fast & Furious spin-off, Hobbs & Shaw, starring Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson, Jason Statham, and Idris Elba. Reigns played Mateo Hobbs, the brother of The Rock's character, in a high-octane, action-packed sequence set in Samoa. While the role was mostly non-verbal, it allowed Reigns to showcase his physical prowess and charisma alongside some of Hollywood's biggest names. The film grossed over $700 million globally, giving Roman a solid launchpad in mainstream cinema. It also hinted at his potential to carry action roles in the future, especially within ensemble casts. 2. Rumble (2021) – Voice Role In the animated sports comedy Rumble, Reigns voiced a monster wrestler in a WWE co-produced Paramount film. Though the movie received mixed reviews, it was an important step for Roman as he explored voice acting and connected with younger audiences in a family-friendly genre. 'Rumble' gave Reigns the chance to express his personality in a different way, without relying on physical presence alone. It also marked WWE's push to blend its Superstars into multi-platform entertainment roles. 3. Good Fortune (2025) – Upcoming Major Role Slated for release in 2025, Good Fortune is set to be a turning point in Reigns' acting career. He joins a powerful lineup featuring Keanu Reeves, Seth Rogen, Eddie Murphy, and Keke Palmer in this action-comedy. While his character details are under wraps, the casting alone shows that Reigns is now being considered for mainstream feature roles beyond the typical 'wrestler cameo.' The film is being watched closely and could very well be Reigns' breakout performance outside WWE. Bonus: Street Fighter – From Tribal Chief to Akuma? One of the biggest headlines surrounding Roman Reigns right now is the strong buzz around his casting as Akuma in the upcoming live-action Street Fighter movie. While not yet officially confirmed, multiple industry insiders have reported Reigns is either in advanced talks or already locked in to play the iconic martial arts villain. Akuma is one of the most feared characters in the Street Fighter universe, a perfect match for Reigns' intimidating presence, powerful build, and silent rage. If confirmed, this could become his most iconic on-screen role to date, and potentially launch him as a full-fledged action star in Hollywood. A Career in Transition Roman Reigns is no stranger to the spotlight, but what's refreshing is how measured and selective he has been in his transition to Hollywood. Unlike some who jump headfirst into B-movies, Reigns is building credibility and range, from major franchises to animated features and now possibly leading roles. With each project, Roman Reigns is proving that his dominance isn't limited to the squared circle. Whether it's as a warrior from Samoa, a monster in a wrestling ring, or a fearsome video game icon, the Tribal Chief is ready to conquer Hollywood, one role at a time.

11 Times Celebs Clashed While Filming Movies, TV Shows

1. By now, it's pretty well known that Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni did NOT get along while playing love interests in the film It Ends with Us. Blake accused Justin of alleged sexual harassment and other misconduct, which sparked a contentious legal battle, though Justin's $400-million countersuit was ultimately dismissed. You can read more about that right here. 2. Olivia Wilde and Florence Pugh seemingly fell out while filming Don't Worry Darling (2022). Not only did Florence admit that she was unhappy with the movie's hypersexualized marketing, which was largely pushed by Olivia, but things got a whole lot messier after Olivia's infamous 'Miss Flo' phone call leaked. Then came the painfully awkward press tour, which saw Florence skipping a key conference and seemingly avoiding all interaction with Olivia. You can read more about the drama right here. 3. Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson's feud with Vin Diesel appeared to begin around 2016, while they were shooting the eighth instalment of the Fast & Furious franchise. After Dwayne hinted that he'd clashed with some of the men on set, it quickly became clear that he and Vin did not get on at all. The discord went on for almost a decade, though a few months ago, Vin hinted that he and Dwayne are on good terms now, giving him a sweet shoutout at the 2025 Golden Globes. You can read a full breakdown of their feud here. 4. Alex Pettyfer told the Hollywood Reporter that his Magic Mike costar Channing Tatum disliked him 'for many reasons,' including his standoffish behavior on set and the fact that he did not pay Channing's friend four months' worth of rent after renting their apartment. You can read his quotes here. 5. In 2021, Lucy Liu revealed that she confronted Bill Murray on the set of the 2000 film Charlie's Angels after he insulted her on set. "Some of the language was inexcusable and unacceptable, and I was not going to just sit there and take it," she said. "So, yes, I stood up for myself, and I don't regret it. Because no matter how low on the totem pole you may be or wherever you came from, there's no need to condescend or to put other people down." Lucy revealed that she's remained on good terms with Bill. You can read more about the confrontation right here. 6. The Fresh Prince of Bel Air star Janet Hubert (the original Aunt Viv) clashed on set with leading star Will Smith while shooting the third season of the sitcom, during which she was pregnant. She shared in 2020, 'There were a lot of things going on in my life and in Will's life as well. There was some friction because I was pregnant. Home life was not good at all. I was no longer laughing, smiling, joking because there were things going on that nobody knew about. The cast had no idea what was going on.' Will also admitted, 'During that time of her pregnancy, I wasn't sensitive. I wasn't perceptive.' You can read more about this — and them resolving their feud — right here. 7. Rebel Wilson once described working with Sacha Baron Cohen on the 2016 film The Brothers Grimsby as 'outrageous.' She purportedly claimed, 'Every single day he's like, 'Rebel, can you just go naked in this scene?' And I'm like, 'No!'' A decade later, Rebel and Sacha got into a dispute after the Pitch Perfect star claimed she was being 'threatened' by him and his PR team ahead of the release of her memoir, which featured a chapter describing him as an 'asshole.' Sacha's team later denied Rebel's allegations. You can read more here. 8. In 2020, Boy Meets World star Trina McGee called out some of her costars for their treatment of her on set. She tweeted, 'Called aunt Jemima on set during hair and make up. Called a bitter bitch when I quietly waited for my scene to finish rehearsing that was being f'ed up over and over due to episode featuring my character,' later revealing that Will Friedle was the one who called her the racist trope. Trina also said that she confronted one of her castmates for their behavior, though her discomfort was dismissed. You can read more about her experience, and the Boy Meets World cast's apologies, here. 9. To say that Charlize Theron and Tom Hardy clashed on the set of Mad Max: Fury Road would be a massive understatement. In 2022, Charlize admitted she was left so intimated by Tom that she requested additional protection on set, while the film's editor, J. Houston Yang, said: 'Boy fucking howdy, was it clear that those two people hated each other. They didn't want to touch each other, they didn't want to look at each other, they wouldn't face each other if the camera wasn't actively rolling.' You can find a full breakdown of their feud right here. 10. While shooting the 2006 film Annapolis, James Franco and Tyrese Gibson butted heads. In 2007, Tyrese claimed of James: 'I respect method actors, but he never snapped out of character. Whenever we'd have to get in the ring for boxing scenes, and even during practice, the dude was full-on hitting never lightened up.' James later denied hitting Tyrese on purpose, though he took 'full blame for any problems on that film.' He said, 'If he had a bad experience working with me, I was probably a jerk. I was not purposely cruel to him, but I was probably so wrapped up in my performance that I was not as friendly as I could have been.' You can read more here. 11. And finally, Isaiah Washington famously got into a physical altercation with Patrick Dempsey on the set of Grey's Anatomy in 2006. Isaiah was accused of using an anti-gay slur against one of their Grey's costars amid the fight, which he denied. Ultimately, he was fired from the show — and according to Grey's creator Shonda Rhimes, the cast is still 'traumatized' by the fight. You can read more about the fight here.
