The limited event kicks off September 26 with Raimi's 2002 Spider-Man , continues with Spider-Man 2.1 on September 27, and wraps with Spider-Man 3 on September 28. There will be an encore round running the following weekend (Oct. 3–5). Tickets go on sale July 25. For the first time ever, Spider-Man 2.1 will hit theaters in 4K. Earlier this year, the entire Spider-Man live-action lineup had a brief return to theaters via Cinemark, including Tom Holland's MCU entries and Andrew Garfield's two Amazing films. But this new event gives Raimi's trilogy the solo spotlight, with the added bonus of that never-before-seen-on-the-big-screen cut. The exciting news doesn't stop there, as the second movie will be shown in a new extended version called Spider-Man 2.1, which was never before seen in theatres. The new edition has sharper 4K picture quality and includes extra scenes that'll provide a deeper look into Peter Parker's challenges. According to Variety, the special screenings will start on September 26 with Spider-Man, followed by Spider-Man 2.1 on September 27, and Spider-Man 3 on September 28. For the first time, 'Spider-Man 2.1' — the extended edition of 'Spider Man 2' — will be playing in theaters in 4K in a limited engagement presented by Fathom Entertainment. This version, released on DVD in 2007, features eight minutes of new footage, including a fan-favorite scene in which J. Jonah Jameson, played by J.K. Simmons, tries on the Spidey suit. More than two decades and 10 Spider-Man movies after the original trilogy premiered, 'Spider-Man 2' consistently ranks among the best of the franchise by critics and fans.
