Marks and Spencer's £25 crossbody bag rivals £630 Toteme designer version

Marks and Spencer is well-known for its fashion ranges, and there may be a new favourite in stock as the retailer's Faux Leather Sling Cross-Body Bag is a hit with shoppers Marks and Spencer is turning heads with a new crossbody bag that bears a strong resemblance to a high-end designer version — but at a much more wallet-friendly price. The Faux Leather Sling Cross-Body Bag, available exclusively in chocolate brown and priced at just £25, has drawn comparisons to a similar design by luxury brand TOTEME. Though it's a fraction of the cost, the M&S version mimics many features of the designer bag, including its asymmetrical shape, gold-tone hardware, zip closure, and crossbody strap with a suede-effect finish. There are, of course, a few key differences. The M&S bag has a slightly thicker strap and is made from faux materials, while the TOTEME version uses genuine leather and suede. Still, the savings are significant — with the designer option retailing for around £630, shoppers could save over £600 by choosing the high-street alternative. Marks and Spencer also offers a range of other stylish bags at varying price points, including the Straw Shoulder Bag (£55), Faux Leather Woven Shoulder Strap Bag (£45), and Faux Leather Woven Clutch Bag (£35). Looking beyond M&S, there are other budget-friendly options on the market too. Next stocks the Bone Leather Fringe Cross-Body Bag for £35, New Look offers a Bright Red Quilted Faux Leather Mini Crossbody Bag (£21.99), and River Island has a Cream Metal Handle Quilted Tote for £36. The M&S sling bag has received plenty of praise online. One happy customer wrote: "Lovely bag. Great bag. It's very good quality and will go with so many outfits." Another said: "Perfect bag! Fits so much, easy to wear, great colour." A third shopper commented: "Excellent bag for wandering round on holiday. Held all I needed. Excellent quality. Looks like leather." However, not all feedback has been glowing. A few customers mentioned that while the sling bag looks stylish, the faux suede material felt a bit cheap. One review read: "This bag does look good, but it feels cheap. The faux suede material is very lightweight and just doesn't feel very nice. A return from me." Another noted: "Nice shape bag which can hold a fair amount — keys, glasses, etc — but feels cheap. Kept it because I loved the unusual shape." Despite some mixed reviews, the majority of customers have been impressed. One reviewer summed it up by saying: "Love this bag. Looks great and easy to wear. Compact but big enough to carry a decent amount. Also has a handy zipped inner pocket." Another added: "Really lovely crossbody bag, fits just the right amount in. Lovely material feel and comfortable to wear." For those after the designer look without the hefty price tag, the £25 M&S crossbody bag offers serious style and impressive savings, reports the Daily Record.

M&S' 'fabulous' £35 crossbody bag looks 'just like' £737 Bottega Veneta version

Marks and Spencer's bag looks very similar to a designer version - without the hefty price tag Marks and Spencer is selling a crossbody bag that bears a striking resemblance to a designer version. The retailer is well known for its fashion ranges and there may be a new favourite in stock now. The M&S Faux Leather Cross Body Bag, priced at £35, looks similar to one by designer brand Bottega Veneta - but for a fraction of the cost. The bag is currently only available in red, with the black and cream versions sold out online. Marks and Spencer also stocks the £55 Straw Shoulder Bag, and the Faux Leather Woven Shoulder Strap for £45. The retailer also has the Faux Leather Woven Clutch Bag for £35. Alternatively, shoppers looking for a different style could opt for the Next Tan Brown Leather Fringe Cross-Body Bag, priced at £35. New Look also has the Bright Red Quilted Faux Leather Mini Crossbody Bag for £21.99, while River Island stocks the £36 Cream Metal Handle Quilted Tote. M&S' Faux Leather Cross Body Bag looks similar to the designer version, with matching woven designs and zip fastenings. They both also feature a lined main compartment and a secure slip pouch. However, there are some differences between the two. The M&S version has a slightly thinner strap, while the designer version features flap closure that the cheaper option doesn't have. The Marks and Spencer bag has proven popular online, with many shoppers praising it in their reviews. One person said: "Fabulous. Great bag." A second wrote: "I love this little red bag which is just the right size to hold my essentials, and add a pop of colour to my outfits." A third added: "Stylish bag. Bought this in red and its gorgeous! Can't wait to use it." However, some shoppers were slightly less impressed, with one saying: "I really loved the style of the bag but I didn't like the zip, it kept getting stuck when I tried to open & close it, I don't know if it was a faulty zip but it was a lot of money to just make do." A second wrote: "Poor quality material and zip. Not worth the money." Despite this, others continued to praise the bag. One person said: "Lovely little bag just big enough for my items. Looks good and not cheap. Value for money." While the M&S Faux Leather Cross Body Bag is priced at £35, the Bottega Veneta Small Nappa Intrecciato Olimpia shoulder bag is currently priced at £737 on websites specialising in pre-owned items. This means shoppers could save around £702 by opting for the cheaper alternative.

Just wearing around the house as last walk around with the dog the other day was painful." For those requiring a wide fit, another commented: "I really wanted this style of sandal and have wide problem feet, so was looking forward to receiving them. One particularly satisfied shopper who chose the nude option remarked: "Great neutral shade for the summer, good fit. The insoles are quite hard at the moment, but hoping they soften up with more wear." Another expressed contentment by writing: "Comfortable and stylish."
