Another drug peddler's house demolished by Fazilka Police under anti-drug campaign

FAZILKA: In the ongoing campaign of the Punjab police against the drugs in the state, a major action has been carried out and police demolished the house of a drug smuggler in village Tahliwala Bodla under Police Station Arniwala in Fazilka district. According to Gurmit Singh, SSP, Fazilka, the house of Parveen Rani @ Raveena, daughter of Cheeman Lal, resident of Tahliwala Bodla, was demolished as the woman had been consistently involved in illegal drug trafficking activities and was previously booked in the following criminal cases including FIR No. 24 dated 07.03.2025 under Section 21 NDPS Act, Police Station Arniwala and FIR No. 98 dated 27.09.2023 under Sections 379, 411 IPC, Police Station Arniwala. Parveen Rani was involved in the sale of illegal drugs and possession of stolen property. Following a request from the civil administration, Fazilka Police took action and demolished her illegally constructed house. Gurmeet Singh stated that no drug trafficker will be spared, and such demolition drives will continue in the future. The Fazilka Police are not only cracking down on drug sellers but are also committed to rehabilitating drug users by enrolling them in de-addiction centres. These individuals are being provided with free treatment and all necessary support through the health department. The Fazilka Police appeals to the general public to support this mission. If anyone notices any drug-related activity in their surroundings, they are urged to report it immediately to the Fazilka Police.

Three drug smugglers were arrested after police recovered 60,000 tramadol (100mg) tablets, Punjab director general of police (DGP) Gaurav Yadav said on Monday. A vehicle used for transporting the drugs was also seized during the operation. According to the Punjab GDP, an FIR has been registered under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act at PS City Jalalabad, and further investigations are underway to uncover backwards and forward linkages in the drug syndicate. 'Fazilka Police apprehends 3 drug smugglers and recovers 60,000 Tramadol (100mg) tablets — a major haul of intoxicating pharmaceutical substances. A vehicle used for transportation has also been seized,' Punjab DGP stated on X. 'An FIR under the NDPS Act has been registered at PS City Jalalabad. Further investigations are underway to trace backward and forward linkages to dismantle the pharma drug syndicate. Punjab Police Ind remains steadfast in its fight against organised crime and drug trafficking,' the post added.
