Car from which shot was fired at Fazilpuria rented by a 19-yr-old boy
Gurgaon: A day after a bullet was allegedly fired at the car of singer and rapper Rahul Yadav, better known as Fazilpuria, in Sector 71 on Southern Peripheral Road (SPR), police said on Tuesday they had identified the car from which the gunshot came – a Punch registered in the name of Sushil Kumar, a Sonipat resident who runs a car rental business. Kumar had rented the car – HR10 AS 1259 – to 19-year-old Gautam, also a Sonipat resident (Dipalpur village), from 10.40am on July 11 for Rs 2,200 per day. The car was tracked down using GPS installed in it by its owner and was found abandoned near Bilaspur on Monday night. Police said they had identified the suspect but did not specify if it was Gautam. Gautam was issued his driving licence on Jan 23 this year. The bullet did not hit the Thar but struck an iron grille by the roadside. No one was injured. Fazilpuria was in the Thar. "We have identified the accused and recovered the car used in the crime. We found one bullet at the spot and will arrest the suspects soon," police spokesperson ASI Sandeep Kumar said. A team led by DCP South Hitesh Yadav recovered CCTV footage of the singer's car being chased within 40 minutes of the incident, police said. GURGAON: A day after singer and rapper Rahul Yadav alias Fazilpuria escaped an alleged gunshot attack on Southern Peripheral Road (SPR) on Monday evening, Badshahpur police registered a case and claimed to have identified the accused. Police said the car used in the crime has also been recovered. One round was fired at the singer's vehicle, but no one was injured, and the bullet did not hit the car. CCTV footage emerged early Tuesday morning of a Tata Punch car allegedly following Haryanvi singer-rapper Rahul Fazilpuria's SUV Monday evening before he was allegedly shot at. The Gurgaon police Tuesday filed an FIR for attempted murder against unknown people at the Badshahpur police station and formed a team to nab the accused. They recovered the Tata Punch car, which was suspected to be following Fazilpuria's SUV, and recovered an empty bullet shell from the crime spot in Gurgaon's Sector 71. 'The accused have also been spotted (on CCTV). We hope to (identify them) nab them soon,' a police spokesperson said. The CCTV footage was from 5.58 pm, some time before unknown assailants in a car allegedly fired at Fazilpuria, 35, ( ) when he was standing near his SUV at the Southern Peripheral Road (SPR) section near Badshahpur in Gurgaon's Sector 71.
