Police-Involved Shooting in Greenfield, Indiana Leaves One Dead
HANCOCK COUNTY, Ind. — A man was shot and killed during a police-involved incident Monday night in Greenfield following a domestic disturbance call, according to Indiana State Police. Officers responded to a residence on Sedgewick Lane, near South State and Tague streets, on July 7. Authorities say 54-year-old Ted Feasel answered the door but quickly shut it when officers attempted to speak with him. After trying to communicate with Feasel through the closed door, officers opened it and reportedly saw him pointing a firearm directly at them. In response, three officers discharged their weapons. The officers involved—10-year veteran Blake Crull, 6-year veteran Jarrod Davis, and 5-year veteran Ryan Morefield—rendered aid to Feasel immediately after the shooting and checked the home to ensure no one else was harmed. Feasel was transported to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. No officers or bystanders were injured in the incident.
